Ordered a replacement key from Tom’s Key for my Toyota Tacoma after the dealer said that they were on back order (over six weeks ago) and that when they did come in it would be $250. I ordered the key fobs and the program key for my Toyota Corolla 2014. I followed this video and program 2 keys and 2 remotes under 15 minutes. I was skeptical but the whole process from ordering to the instructions on programming the devices was very easy to follow. It really works. I have a 2017 Toyota Sienna and needed to program a key fob. I first ordered a key fob from Amazon and tried to program using the programmer from Tom’s, didn’t work. I ordered the key fob from Tom’s and it worked!! Easy to do, the video gives perfect instructions! Thank you!!

Just programmed two keys for my 2014 Camry. The process took no time. I relied on the video as instruction, which works just fine. Tom's Key includes a return shipping label for returning the programmer. That is nice and easy. Great service! I rarely leave reviews. However, I felt I needed to since there are probably many people who are trying to get a chip key reproduced, but the costs are just absurd. I ordered it and the package came quickly with clear instructions. I programmed two chip keys with no problems. Returned the equipment and received a prompt refund to my credit card. It's easy peasy to program a key with Tom's programmer; less expensive than Lowe's or Ace Hardware and WAY less than a dealer. My simple Corolla key cost $70 from Tom's Key. There was an $80 equipment charge but that is refundable when it is returned in the provided envelope. I did need to have the key cut at a locksmith but that cost only three bucks.

This whole thing was very easy. Selecting the proper key was straightforward (older Toyota: 2014 Corolla) with the info on the site. I was dubious about the method of taking images of the key and having them cut the replacement just with those images, but the key I received fit the door and ignition with no difficulty at all.
Programming it was also straightforward - just follow the directions in order, they are clear. If you do the sequence of events wrong it's not the end - you just do it again until you get it right. Then you just test the buttons on the new key and mail back the programmer for the refund.
Overall I think I saved at least 50% vs. the locksmith/dealer alternatives I found.

Though the exact process wasn't as shown on the videos (this + few others) and took me a few variations (waiting longer,, turning the car off/on,,, etc) I was able to program the key and the remote. Got the key cut by a local locksmith... If I had to do it again, it might've been worth it to get TomsKey to send me a cut key (price delta was close enough for the convenience factor). Might've saved me some time if I had called/emailed also but the process isn't that overly complicated. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to save some money.

I bought a couple keys for my 09 Venza a few months ago using the correct part no. I took them to a dealership to be programmed . they start the car but the lock unlock button does not work. Any suggestions?
Just take it to a locksmith. It will be cheaper than renting I from Toms
Glad you have a place that charges a reasonable price. In many places, it costs 2, 3, or even 4 times our prices to make another key.
Will your rental allow a used smart key purchased on eBay to pair with my 2023 Tacoma?

My 2010 Venza’s original (master) fob key/remote’s lock and unlock buttons stopped working. I inserted a new fob battery but that didn’t make a difference. How could I get the remote button lock/unlock buttons on my master key to work again? Thank you’

Will it work if you lost your keys? I went and got a master key cut from the dealership. I then called a locksmith to come out and reprogram the key. He told me that the computer had to be flashed. Will this method reset the computer to allow me to reprogram my new key?

Can slave keys be remote fob keys??Or is the master a remote keys then the slave keys are just plain transponder keys?

What if the original key doesn't have the buttons. Can we still get the new keys buttons to work?
Hi Behzad, only original remote features will work, regardless of the buttons included in the Keyless Entry Remote. This key does not add remote features that your vehicle did not have before.

What if the buttons on the master key stopped working after the battery died ?
Hi, make sure that the battery is fully charged and will not die during programming as a weak battery may cause problems. Turn off HVAC, lights, radio, or anything drawing power, and take appropriate steps to keep the vehicle battery at full power.

You can either try having the dealership or automotive Locksmith make you a master key. If they are going to charge a rip off price to make a second key you can rent Tom's Car Key Programmer to help make the second one. Email help@tomskey.com for other inquiries
