Well... I assume it's kind of like earth worms. It's sort of both. Dirt is just broken down organic matter. Digestion is the process of breaking down substances into simpler substances.. and the result, when the food is leaves, grass, other organic matter, is brown stuff we call dirt. People eat meat and other stuff, so our poop has more bacteria and other nasty stuff (from what I understand), but yeah... dirt.. worm poop.. all the same.

In their defense it was under the panels where you couldn't see it. If you look at the before shots the car interior really isn't that bad save for some stains and food crumbs which are pretty normal if you have kids. You'd think someone would have noticed the maggots crawling through the floor though hehe

Here's my take on it; you shouldn't be embarrassed to send in a dirty car because the reason why you're sending it is because it's dirty and there'll likely have been dirtier cars than yours.

Car didn't look *too* dirty when he first started cleaning (at least for a van which is always a little disheveled) - but it looks like some food worked its way down under the panels whee you couldn't see them and that's how you got the maggots. Someone probably noticed them crawling through the carpets which is why they called the detailer
Having worked at a mom and pop garage I've seen cars with actual grass growing in them like on the inside mold and so many other unimaginable things and we had to drive them like that it was awful
Holy cow!!! You did an amazing job with this vehicle. We no longer have small children in our household, but I still have our Odyssey detailed every year just to keep it in superb shape. Even then, it's amazing just how much dirt a vehicle acquires in a year's time of normal use.

Whatever that family had the car had of popped out flies, I'm sure they thought they came from the outside or they didn't move the vehicle for a few days and the flies went out from the air vents, and then those were left behind.

Here's my take on it; you shouldn't be embarrassed to send in a dirty car because the reason why you're sending it is because it's dirty and there'll likely have been dirtier cars than yours.

Car didn't look *too* dirty when he first started cleaning (at least for a van which is always a little disheveled) - but it looks like some food worked its way down under the panels whee you couldn't see them and that's how you got the maggots. Someone probably noticed them crawling through the carpets which is why they called the detailer
Having worked at a mom and pop garage I've seen cars with actual grass growing in them like on the inside mold and so many other unimaginable things and we had to drive them like that it was awful

Holy cow!!! You did an amazing job with this vehicle. We no longer have small children in our household, but I still have our Odyssey detailed every year just to keep it in superb shape. Even then, it's amazing just how much dirt a vehicle acquires in a year's time of normal use.
Smart move on your part. It's a great idea to get your Honda Odyssey cleaned out and up every spring due to the term "Spring Cleaning."
