Red Flags in Religious Life: the vow of poverty

Voices of Faith created a video series to help educate and explain situations and factors that can lead to various forms of abuse to vulnerable sisters.
The objectives are to Educate Catholic nuns/sisters on their rights and on how they can defend themselves against abuse and avoid a range of specific risks they are vulnerable to in their position as nuns.
This video focuses specifically on the vow of poverty that together with the vow of chastity and the vow of obedience, comprises the evangelical counsels

I am a Benedictine Oblate. I am not vowed but I was invested with a promise of Poverty (in spirit), Stability and Conversion of Life. These things will not be hard for me to do either, if I were vowed. For those who love Christ lack in nothing. "Prefer nothing than the love of Christ".
