  • Popping out to see if I could get any shots of the Red Kites in flight... and getting some lovely magic from the birds. This will not be my last time down here, I can tell you now!

Yes, green woodpecker. Lucky enough to be able to photograph Red Kites from the back garden. Mind you, I do live in mid Wales.

Ha, yeah, that is even more lucky than me! Are you in a close proximity to Gigrin Farm?

@@mikestebbingsphotography Hi. Actually on the coast. We generally have at least a couple of Kites in the air most of the day. There are lots in the area. Quite near a small reserve called Bwlch Nant yr Arian, where they are fed daily (up to 50 or so). Had the privilege of doing the feeding one time - they are very impressive when swooping in a few feet away.

Hi Mike! You are very fortunate to have Red Kites right on your doorstep. One flew over my house, (I actually spotted it from my bedroom window!) the other day, but that is a rarity. Oh and yes, the bird call is a Green Woodpecker.

As I was watching this video, a red kite flew over my office, which is the conservatory with a glass roof. They do this three or four times a day, at about 10 to 20 feet, not one but two or three sometimes. Thanks for sharing the video.

I get quite a few flying over my house too. However, the thing I like about Hills and Holes is the open space, and the fact i've seen the kites diving down there as well. Not caught it on camera or film yet but I hold out hope! Haha

Thank you! Its been bugging me as heard it a lot but not seen it. i thought it was a woodpecker as their call kinda sounds like laughing, but now I know for sure!
