I'm 14hrs into Rebirth and just started chapter 3. That's how much fun I'm having doing nothing but sidequests, exploring, and taking photos.
Same here man. 50 hours deep so far and I don't think I'm even halfway through
same brother same
im taking my time
Same i made 30+ hours before chpt 4
Oh boy you guys just you wait until you reach into more open world areas
Hey dude, you don't know me, and I'm pretty sure you won't see this, but I wanted to say that I love your channel. I love that you've branched out and been so confident with it. You're doing great. I've had the same issue on my channel you described about being sort of boxed in. I'm mainly known for Batman stuff, but I've always tried to do more. I ended up going more in on variety (it's been really hard) and even starting another channel to make more stuff on RPGs and JRPGs and just wanted to say as another creator, it's really tough. I hope you're doing okay and feeling a bit better. Depression is something I really struggle with too, and I just hope you know that a lot of us really love your channel. It's well-articulated, fun, funny and informative. You do a great job.
It's great seeing them fixing it since I prefer performance mode.
Yea me too I play with 1440p enabled it looks slightly better
Same!
We will see if they actually fix it properly ff16 is still bad to this day no fixes for that performance mode and they are made by the same people
@@aaronvasseur6559ff16 isn’t blurry like ff7…
@@aaronvasseur6559Same company, different teams though.
This game is already fantastic but they're working to make it even better!
The graphics look terrible and the camera distance in the open world is way too far takes me out of the immersion
@@arustyitalianhairyasscheek5305stfu no one asked lil bro
@@arustyitalianhairyasscheek5305literally bro please for the love of god go touch some grass
This is what happens when a studio cares and allowed to go the extra mile. I’m suprised I only play performance mode but the graphics 30fps is so smooth I’ve been playing that
@@arustyitalianhairyasscheek5305skibidi bop bom bom yes yes
I can’t help notice pixelation and blur. It doesn’t ruin my experience but it would be nice to have a sharper image.
I just walk most of the time, enjoying the world. I play all the minigames, play no more than 1 to 2 hours per day. Such a great game to really chew on.
The other thing to remember is that although Rebirth is a much larger game compared to Remake, it's currently a PS5 exclusive. The performance mode of a PS5 only game should look a lot better than it does rn
Awesome, Uncanny Cloud has been haunting my dreams lately.
I also hope they add wet effects dor the characters too, it was strange not to see water dripping from a character who just left the water.
Can't play at 30 fps anymore, it's unacceptable at this point. With the PS5 the performance mode should be able to run at 60 fps and not look like garbage. Any game that launches at 30 fps without a performance mode has crashed and burned... looking at you Gotham Knights
One little snafu - The character models have definitely been updated, just not in a drastic or immediately noticable way. The recent Digital Foundry video showcases direct comparisons fairly early on in the video for referance.
They should make it so you can choose which mode you want for gameplay and cutscenes separately. I would want gameplay to be 60fps and cutscenes with better graphics at 30fps.
They should've just put less movable objects. I don't need to be able to kick chairs and boulders across the map. Also hope they fix the audio volume glitches
Lmao so true. Also kinda silly when you walk into an establishment and your party following behind you kicks around everything that isn’t nailed down.
@@Gwynbleidd_117i knocked down all the chairs in the first upper level on Junon just for shits and giggles because of this. It's ridiculous 😂
Actually i like it. I like to go to the grocery store and knock everything out just because. I like the details.
Is there an actual reason that in 2024 we still have to pick between performance and fidelity??
I tried playing on Graphics Mode, and I was dropping frames lower than just 30 fps, with game lags and texture issues. Performance Mode, although blurry, has definitely played significantly better for me, and there hasn't been any issues when it comes to the cutscenes.
Same here maybe switching PS5 into graphics mode changes it
I've been playing on performance the whole time and I never noticed a difference whenever I checked the graphics mode. I didn't even know there was a 'blur' until now. The textures damn near look the same, you have to look hard to actually see the blur on characters in the background.
So I just got around to starting Rebirth (work commitments stopped me from starting earlier), and I'm playing in Quality Mode. Something about it just felt a tiny bit off, and I was just about to switch to Performance Mode to see if that helped when this video popped up on my feed. Seeing those screenshots here, I think I'll hold off for this patch.
Game's real good so far though.
and would you believe it. That disk 2 of FF VII OG ramps up the story even more. With how amazing the main story was here in the 2nd part of this remake project, I can't imagine how part 3 will look to new fans, considering the set pieces they have to recreate. However by far one of the games greatest aspects is the freedom and exploration of the world and the attention to detail with such rich diversity of content, which I don't have to repeat because you pretty much covered it all in this video.
It took me a few hours to adjust to the graphics mode. Im just so used to a 4090 performance, the 30 seemed so bad but you'll adjust to it and I dont suggest to switch back and forth. Am I looking forward to the pc version? Yes, but it'll probably a couple of years on that.
I have a decent-sized 1080p monitor, so the actual resolution difference I get between Performance Mode and Graphics Mode is pretty unnoticeable, especially with the fact that I sit around 1-ish meters away from the screen. It's only when I get really up-close that I notice "ah yeah, the little pixels in the distance are slightly more crisp in Graphics Mode". (My eyesight clarity is fine too, without glasses)
For me personally, I just prefer "lower res, 60fps" over "higher res, 30fps" if I get the choice 😅 Especially for action games
I don't know how anyone can stand to play graphics mode. It feels like 20fps and the motion blur is god awful. Maybe it's my TV, I don't know. I'll take the blurry ass performance mode over graphics mode any day. Graphics mode doesn't even look that much sharper than performance mode anyway.
Not much sharper???💀
I don't want to be rude you better check your eyes if you think the graphic mode is not that much sharper than the performance mode. The game on perf still looks blurry af on my 1080p monitor. This is the worst case I've ever seen yet.
I’m so glad they are working on the lighting - it’s a massive issue. I really hope they let the camera be as a close as it was in Remake too as I think it is too zoomed out now
That’s a good thing because this is an open world type game so a zoomed out camera is better because you can see more of the open areas
And here I am wishing I could zoom out more. I'm at the maximum zoom out threshold and it still feels weird in an open world game.
You can adjust in the settings lol. Ff7 rebirth has far larger environments so it has to pan out cameras at times
@@aaronvasseur6559 This is not an excuse for not giving the option to make it closer since most open world games have a much closer camera distance and btw its also part of the reason why the lighting and draw distances become very low quality and u can try this for yourself , just use photo mode and zoom in onto Cloud's model you'll instantly notice better lighting and higher texture assets appear on his character models , and then zoom out after that to see how all of it disappears the moment you zoom out too much from him making him less detailed , the combat camera distance is also terrible compared to remake i almost can't see what the characters are even doing in battle since its too far away from the action while also losing the intimacy of Remake's camera , they should at least include an FOV slider like in Star Ocean won't cost them more than a few clicks for crying out loud.
i just got to costa de sol. the game runs flawlessly on graphics mode. i was afraid it was gonna be bad like the demo. just make sure your ps5 is clean and you are playing in a cool room. my ambient temp in the room is 70f.
I am still holding off until a PS5 Pro or the PC Version. If they can offer a 40fps mode for my VRR display. I'll play it all the way through.
Lmao a pro isn't coming out. Idk why people keep thinking this. Unlike the 4 that was already weak when it first came out, the 5 is not. Especially when it's not even being pushed to it's full potential thanks to last gen cross play.

If your tv supports 1440p try putting your ps5 resolution on 1440p in ur video/screen settings it will reduce the pixilation on ur screen on performance mode by whole lot
Huh?

Yup I was recommended to do this it helped alot....not a FIX but Def helped
@@naaaaaaaaaaaaah so what about if I switch to 1080P mode since my TV doesn’t support 1440 P,
@turnbasedtoddy7664 idk. i think it won't work.
I just finished my first rebirth playthrough, 116 hours doing everything i could before ending it, on graphics mode and i loved it, now im gonna play hard mode at 60 fps.
I’m loving the regular uploads on the channel 😊 I hope they patch this quick. It sounds like it may give a gamer a headache 🤕
there are a few low poly meshes and a few low texture areas, but damn this game plays and looks amazing. 100% game of the year.
If it's a choice, performance beats graphical fidelity every time, in my opinion. Are you really looking at the in-game models so often that it detracts from the overall experience? I notice the detriments, but they are seconds out of hours in terms of time that I spent with the game.
The "getting used to 30 fps" might work for some people but my eyes don't like it whatsoever. I just accepted the blurriness and went performance mode
Same, I just can't do 30fps. Totally kills the experience. Blurry Performance mode it is.
Same here. Seeing the camera dnd everything moving at 30 with the background strains my eyes in a way I can’t fully describe, so I will always prefer performance over graphics
I played the entire game in quality mode, but I noticed that a bunch of times when assets pop in from offscreen, there is a big white void for a few frames
Even just an uncapped graphics mode or a 40fps graphics mode for those of us with 120hz displays would be huge. I really hope though that they can work out 60fps as well
Best thing is when exploring, put performance on story definitely graphics.
This
Performance mode isn't so bad, and I did get used to it. Though I noticed that it's blurriness is minimal when inside like the mithril mines.
Isn’t so bad? It’s incredibly blurry it’s a joke
I've noticed some textures being slightly unpolished in performance mode, but never have I seen any "blur" when playing. Maybe I'm focusing too much on the UI and enemy to notice, but the game has looked fine for me lol.
It depends on your graphics, 4k is very blurry and looks awful, 1440p looks quite good
Whats odd is, Digital Foundry said thd resolution is 2k quite a bit. And doesnt drop below I think it was 1158p or something? But it looks like it would be 720 or something. They arnt 100% sure why it presents the way it does. But they believe it has to do with the post processing. But, idk. Its odd for sure.
heavy use of TAA making it blurry
I was playing the game at 60fps on 1080p output. It was alright.
I immediately switch it out of fidelity due to the gittery cam.
I switched the game back to fidelity, and after you give the game a few minutes to breath the camera them goes back to being smooth.
I actually prefer fidelity now, like the creator said, its really not bad.
The blur on performance doesn't bother me that much. What bothers me the most is that some distant structures and terrain have holes you can see through, like the cliffs right when you enter the grassland. But aside from that, i really like the game.
I'll gladly play at 1080p forever if it means the Frame Rate stays consistent
The only problem is the upscaler they're using. It's usually a 1200p-ish image upscaled to 4K using a "nearest neighbor" TAAU spatial upscaler. It's a zero performance hit so they figure it's the best option. "Nearest neighbor" gives a sharp but pixelated and fuzzy look. the demo originally had a "bilinear" upscaler which was softer but cleaner. The game NEEDS FSR. Best option for performance mode is to set your PS5 to 1080p output and your TV's upscaler does a MUCH better job, add a few points of sharpness and it actually looks a LOT better!
Hopefully they tweak the anti alaising to eliminate the ghosting on characters and things like tower ladders etc
Looking forward to it considering I decided to play Remake again on PS5, so I hope the update is out before I hop on rebirth.
> it's the same character model
The pictures you are showing have visibly different collars on the outfit. That isn't texturing, that's geometry. Now... maybe the collar goes first when doing lod meshes, but if that's the case you picked a bad set of pictures to compare with.
EDIT: one more detail that leads me to think this isn't just LOD but the models are actually just different from one another -- the bolt protruding from Cloud's pauldron has some details at the end of teh threading that aren't visible in Remake. Specifically, in Remake the threads of the bolt go all the way to the end while the threads on the bolt in Rebirth taper off before they reach the end. In Rebirth, the thread also actually has geometry associated with it while in Remake the thread is just a texture. So in one instance, Rebirth is exhibiting patterns consistent with higher detail while in the other Remake is the one that shows higher detail -- leading me to think they are just plain different meshes.
I also noticed in remake cloud’s pauldron has a weathered purtruding paint texture. While in rebirth it’s flat with scratches. Looks considerably worse. I’m sure there are more changes but that’s one I remember of the top of my head.
My biggest problem with the game are the textures resolution, they're all over the place. Some are crisp, others are terribly blurry and clash with the rest. I hope this patch (or another future one) will adress it, just like Intergrade finally adressed the same problem.
60 hrs in and iv just hit chapter 6 A fools paradise.......... By far the best game iv played in quite some time 👍 so much to do and see its brilliant....... Game will blow you away!!!❤❤❤❤
I think 16 looks better graphics wise, but this game looks incredible also. And this game is FANTASTIC btw. I can’t stop playing. 35 hours in starting chapter 10!
Do you mean the cinematography? If so then yes I agree. The character modeling in rebirth has some of what a doll like appearance compared to the realistic fidelity of characters in FF XVI during the cinamatics, but that being said lol and I have to say this that damn game was a freaken slog, an absolute boring mess, especially after you became clive the errand boy as an adult and all the side content was just repetitive quests. The pacing was horrible, it lacked a crafting system that was otherwise broken pretty much which never incentivized the player to explore for materials and I can go on. Sure, the music was great, the ekion set pieces were just wildly insane and over the top, but there was ALOT of bad and not enough good. FF VII rebirth by comparison feels like a far more polished game than FF XVI is.
@@Artimes. while I agree there were pacing issues, and side quests were not very fun. The main story and characters carried it for me, I really connected with it. I’m very close with my brother. So I strongly related to Clive and Joshua. So that ending killed me.
@@lewisbros5 yeah if you took like 20% of the game and made it into a film, then sure it might be a box office hit. But you just can't ignore the many problems with that game. Its like they gave up 1/4 through developing the game. Many of the smooth photo realism cinamatics and high production camera shots used in some early scenes (remember child clive and Teenage Clive) were instead relogated to slight camera movements and talking dialogue scenes for 80% of adult clive's quest. The crafting system was the worst and i don't say that lightly. WORST type of mechanic i have ever seen.
I don't think there is a single FF Game that has forced me to keep all my money by the end but FF XVI managed that because all the materials you need are granted through the major story line moments and what is out in the wild and environments are nothing aside from little drops of gill. The marks is how you get higher upgrades but even then, it feels very streamlined. Hell many people critisize FF XV, but material gathering and crafting in that game was also a core part of the experience like most rpgs should be and obligated you to go out explore and craft as many things as you can to overcome the difficult curves. In any case ill stop rambling but that game just pissed me off on so many levels. Its a game I will never come back to again. Rebirth by comparison is the pollar apposite of everything I just said and its a game I will replay many times over.
I played it on performace mode too. And yes it is blurry, but since the grahics kind of sucks, the blurryness kind of smoothen out the shit to look slightly better, just like in old games.
I always prefer my action games to be fluid over look pretty, the game already looks good and the blurriness doesn't affect cutscenes which is the only time it should be a problem, so I'm gonna stay on performance
I switched to Graphics n I will say I’m enjoying it. GOTY, I just stared at the circle around the chocobo for like 30 seconds until it stopped looking as choppy n then it wasn’t as bad as just switching it to graphics n just playing.
Edit: staring at the circle around the chocobo makes it easier on your eyes when you start playing. Just something that helped me, and wanted to share maybe it’ll help someone else.
its not usually my style to complain about the visuals on a game but they really messed up on the lighting in the nibelheim part and cause of that i havent been able to enjoy the game let alone pick it up since this has been a highly anticipated game for me i hope this update helps the issue.
I adjusted the sharpness on my tv and that helped a lot but the graphics were never a deal breaker for me. I still think the game looks awesome and didn’t impact my experience at all .
Yeah did the same, it helped with performance mode
Yea I hate that I have to do graphics over performance since I like to have 60 fps but after getting used to it, it ain't that bad. I'll have to endure til the update comes out
Game is already looking good in performance mode when i set my ps5 to 1440p..but if they want to make it better why not 😁
What I was going to do was play the game on fidelity mode until I completed the story then go to performance mode to do side quest
Guys put it at 1440p if it works it looks better just like the first game for some reason
No remake looks way better
This is such a divisive topic. I have seen content creators espousing both sides. You MUST play in performance. You MUST play in graphics. Its incredibly tough to be real. I have played a few hours in both and they both have their pros and cons. The graphics really are significantly downgraded in performance mode. But now I dont know if I can go back to graphics mode without feeling its way too choppy to play. Because I do think there is something wrong with the framerate on graphics mode that makes it look weird at 30 FPS. I have never had an issue where I really noticed the 30 frames so much before. But something about graphics mode really makes it noticeable.
It’s interesting to see just how much lighting can change the way a model looks because Cloud looks….idk uncanny valley fkn weird in that shot ya used lol
i switched to fidelity after 8 hours of performance.I couldnt deal with the blurrylness
I wish they had a third middle ground option. While I have at least one 4k screen, I don't play in 4k most of the time. I have to play in 1080p or even 720p. Wish I could have 60fps graphics mode in 720p.
Its sad because this is EXACTLY what people asked for. We no longer live in a world where optimization is central to consoles anymore.
Just overclocking it "solves" the problem😤😤😤
Pro tip: it's not a fix by any means but for some reason, the game looks best on Performance mode if you set the console resolution to 1440p. Character models still a bit fuzzy but not nearly as bad vs 4K
i think they should allow us to turn settings off like PC users. Chromatic Abberation, depth of field, motion blur, film grain, camera lens effect. Sometimes they have settings that do nothing but slow down performance and PC users can understand the negatives to having such settings applied that not desired by all of us and make the game look worse or perform worse in many cases
I think that all this information is very interesting.
IDK, maybe it's just my monitor, but Performance doesn't really look blurry to me, and Graphics mode doesn't look much better.
I messed with it a little bit, and it gave me a barely noticeable fidelity increase at the cost of a very noticeably worse frame rate.
Regardless, I'm glad they are improving the game more, because even with the few problems it has, it is still a 9-9.5/10.
I would love an update to the clarity in Performance mode. I played InterMISSION before Rebirth and you are right, it looks way better. I am one of those that just does not like playing in Graphics mode as it just feels too choppy. I will always take the resolution hit to get the framerate up if there is an option. I have checked out Graphics mode in Rebirth and it looks fantastic but again, I can't get past the choppiness. I know Performance mode will not be that crisp, I just want Performance mode in Rebirth to clean up a little and I would be happy.
a layman can't tell the difference, I know my parents can't
@@BankaiFever That's probably true. Sadly, I am a bit of a technophile and to me it's a big, noticeable difference. Especially on a 75" screen.
I wish they made it so when outside of combat it switches to graphics mode but when combat starts it switches to performance
I have no issue with performance mode, the odd slow down but for the most part It runs great. I can not play on 30 fps mode due to me using an oled tv and anything below 48fps on my oled just looks too choppy.
First 20 minutes turned me a little of with the framerate in graphics mode but after that i literally forgot i switched it and it hasn't bothered me anymore since then and the game looks 100 times better in it. Highly recommend for now to play in graphics mode for best experience. Tifa never looked this hot I MEAN WHAT WHO SAID THAT
graphics might have taken a hit but the open world is worth it. Hell i play on my playstation portal in bed and it get's blurrier.
30fps looks like ass on an oled, but 60fps looks phenominal...do wish it was less blurry...maybe remove some ground clutter to increase performance mode fedelity
Man I've just been waiting on my copy to finally ship so I could save some money buying it through Gamefly, but at this point I'd rather have spent the extra money to have it day 1. I thought I wouldn't mind waiting a few days since I've been playing Ghost of Tsushima but after seeing all the content being posted, I'm itching to get it already. Fingers crossed we get some DLC for Rebirth too.
Hopefully this patch will drop within march so I would definitely replay on hard mode also I still have quite a lot to go through but I already know I'm gonna be replaying
Any else having issues with the game freezing?
I hope this "patch" isn't used to piggyback any kind of censorship onto it....
I’ve been playing completely in 30fps Graphics mode. It is so beautiful and I’m not willing to take that much of a visual downgrade.. if it’s fixed then yea totally. I’d even take a flat 1440p without the god awful TAA post processing ruining it. But for now I’m sticking with Graphics mode
30 fps is an eye sore
@@omensoffate Exactly. It's 2024; There shouldn't even be a "fidelity" mode. 60 fps should be the min and put all your efforts into maximizing the looks on that mode alone.
They're literally targeting ONE system here, it's gotta be possible, just need to keep priorities straight.
I have to play performance mode. Can’t play games any other way now.
Do not play in graphics mode. It runs horrible and the camera makes you want to vomit.
I tried playing it on graphics mode and it made me feel majorly motion sick, so it's performance mode for me if I want to be able to play the game 😅
The game is amazing! Hands down. My only gripe is with the performance mode. I play on a 4k TV and I have to back up to not see the blurry pixeling. Game is still a 10/10 as an original ff7 playing from 20+ yrs ago I am not complaining at all lol👍🏾
I do understand the issues performance mode has, it is a little blurrier than graphics mode and remakes performance mode, but honestly, playing in graphics mode, the better graphics aren’t enough to make the 30 fps not choppy for me. Even with the downgrade, rebirth still looks amazing to me. And the 60 fps movement is immaculate. I also didn’t care that much about 16’s performance mode so maybe I’m just an anomaly. Im fine with the graphics tanking just a little bit if the game’s combat and movement is much smoother. But I understand and appreciate others don’t and it’s an issue. Thankfully they’ve decided to fix this.
Ff16 looked way better. The faces looked like real people.
I can’t play in 30 fps anymore I’ve been ruined so much. They need more sliders and better optimization. In an action game playing at 30 is absolutely unacceptable
Yeah having this on 1440p on performance made me think someone smeared Vaseline over my monitor. Definitely go graphics mode for now, its a really stable experience and you get used to it
Bro the fidelity mode is so choppy... it is unreal, it started the game in it and the opening cutscene legit skipped like 3 frames every other frame
nice of them to keep updating the game
Yeah if they fix the face lighting weirdness, I'm happy.
Is graphics mode is great in this game
They should put motion blue option for 30 fps
Is it really the same character model as remake? because cloud looks so awful and different. I hope ur right and the lighting update fixes it.
I am trying to play at 30 fps 4 hrs in the game and cant get used to it
I have being playing on graphics mode I don't care much for the 60fps to be honest it still run fine so can't complain much
It needs a texture popping and a lighting update. Some areas you can’t even see 😂
Final fantasy 16 actually has better graphics than 7. FF7R has much better cutscene motion capture, second to only Sonys first party games(Spiderman, naughty dog games like the last of us etc.), but FF7R literally has PS2 quality world textures, and world detail which breaks immersion a bit. Whoever was responsible for the environment team, dropped the ball. People are just d**k riding it because it’s FF7.
One of my only issues is definitely the graphics normally always play on performance in games but had to switch to graphics other than that it’s a amazing game slight of some mini games but I think that is more a me issue lol 😂
i mean we know the games graphics are mainly for ps4 players as stated its using the same engine so im hoping for a remaster of all 3 for ps5 when its done
And this is why you dont rush to play games on day 1. If you wait, you can probably get a discount and get the best experience.
has it been fixed?
I’m only ten hours in just outside of kalm I can’t stop doing sidequest I’m gonna be way to op
My main display is a 1440p ultra wide so it looks and runs great for me either way
7 remake wasn't blurry tho
