No Traces / No Alerts / Perfect Stealth / S Rank.

RULES:
1) Perfect Stealth / No Kills / No Combat Alerts.
2) NO TRACES bonus requires:
- No CQC (hold-ups are allowed)
- No direct physical contact with enemies, like kicking or bumping into someone
- No weapons or bionic arm attacks
- No support weapons, including empty magazines
- No attacks from buddies
- No rank-restricting equipment, like active camo
- No supply or vehicle drops (calling in the chopper is allowed).
3) EQUIPMENT:
- Enemies have maximum level of preparedness against covert actions
- All enemy equipment is left intact (mines, cameras, helmets, etc.)
- My own equipment is fully upgraded with all bionic arm upgrades unlocked.
4) As an extra challenge, when dealing with enemies who are not the mission targets:
- No hold-ups
- No distractions

I was going to say I wish the sound FX for running and walking were less like exaggerated crushing, stomping, scraping plastic or something and more like soft fabric.
how else are you gonna balance it out. MGS isn't fully stealth like splinter cell, it's half action

The sneaking suit's footsteps are quieter. Gameplay-wise, this means you can sneak right up behind enemies without having to slowly crouch-walk.

There should be a subsistence option for each mission including free roam and side ops.

I was thinking the same thing... It's an interesting challenge trying to finish missions with no gear. With that being said...the game would probably have to give you some gear to start with on certain levels, like say when you have to fight Sahelanthropus.
NailStrafer nah when i beat him both times i used the vehicles so no gear was needed.

If you interrogate a soldier, one will tell you about the tank. Plus, if you wind up chasing the tanks, you pass it at the small post. But at that point the guards are going to be alerted unless you go the back way

I don't know the exact numbers. I don't keep count.
Probably 20-30 attempts per mission on average. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Playing 434 min to get the perfect 5 min. That's what I call dedication.
These are entertaining and all, but it just seems like he is playing a different version than what I played. For me that sniper actually has eyes and ears and at the end the tanks spot me when I go to extract them. Did they patch things down the line to prevent stuff like this or something?
To me these are about abusing mechanics like a speed run rather than skill. And in many speed runs they run versions where those mechanics aren't fixed. That's what this feels like.

I have two questions here. 1)Do different camo/cloth in this game even matter on the different surface? I mean I don't wanna depend on sneaking suit all the time. And 2)what are the range where the enemy soldier detect you on different stance?
+mag1xaa If it is day time yes - I would wear the desert fatigues or tiger stripe and at nighttime I usually wear the sneaking suit :) And as for what ranges I find that with snipers if you stand out they will see you quickly long distance but if you are up close the lower level soldiers won't hardly notice you if you are smart about where u move.

I think for non-sniper soldiers the vision range is 20 meters if you're prone; the guy from this channel said in a comment on another video, I think it was the Skull Face mission video.

I didint realise that subsistence had different guard positions to the normal so i failed the regular version so many times trying to do this approach
I tried to follow this as a guide, and I'm wondering what in-game time did you start the mission? Because around the time I stole the armored vehicle, a sandstorm showed up and completely obscured my vision so I couldn't get to the waiting point in time.

Yes, a sniper. They don't look from side to side. Can be a pain to deal with if you don't know where they are and they spot you running towards the outpost though.

Every time I try this mission, there's a guard patrolling the route that you roll along to get to the intel files. If you wait for him to pass, he just waits outside the door and spots you when you leave. FeelsBadMan

The building where you get the intel.. I came there and Soviets knew I was there and they were coming and I was like: Shit what do I do.. so I hid under the table and thought it's not gonna work, but then 2 soldiers came in and right back. And I was like: Wut? I could not stop laughing that mission:D

Yes, I think so. Just don't shoot at the fire extinguisher or the enemies when you first get the gun (if you wait a few minutes, Ishmael will kill enemies for you). Then when you get to the hospital lobby, avoid enemies by going to right and hiding behind cover. Should be easy enough.
I don't want to replay this mission because of 30 minutes of unskippable cutscenes.

How were there no guards at that outpost with the armored vehicle? Were they just taken out before the mission? I would have thought they'd respawn.

So why grab the intel file in this one when you didn't back in mission 8? What's different here other than the lack of horse? Can't you just go bring that armored vehicle and drive it to where they are as soon as the mission starts?

i use to farm this mission a ton. easier to just toss a few decoys down works just as good
This is Subsistence, so pray tell where you managed to scavenge decoys from...
@@venn7eance925 simple i added them in my load out. i picked a spot by one of the LZ and would simply set 3 decoys in the middle of the road. once the convoy passed me i would trigger the decoys and simply walk up behind the trucks and fulton them one by one. i would do this mission about 10 times in a row then sell everything keep some crew and would repeat super easy way to make money.

I did terrible on this subsistence I picked up a rocket launcher from guys I had stealth knifed to death and then shot it at the caravan and then spent the rest of the time trying to catch up with the tanks to fulton them

I'm still working on it, but I think the answer is "no". It is possible to do it with no kills, no takedowns, no equipment, etc., but the automatic supply drops that Quiet calls in seem to cancel No Traces no matter what.
If I find a way to stop her doing that, then yeah, the mission would be no-traceable.

When you see someone playing on pc ( not a console) and you see that they regularly are able to run past enemy mines and enemies are either not there or that they are oblivious to your presence you have to realize that there are a plethora of cheat programs to lessen the amount of enemies as well as alter their AI. I have watched many of his videos as well as put many hrs into this game and I can tell he is running cheats.

These subsistence missions are fucking annoying. I Can't do it they should've just added a new story arch. They should've continued with Eli. Which it never happened due to Konami not wanting in part of it. I managed to pass them with S Rank. But it took a while with all objectives completed. But what about the prisoner you just left him to die.
