They made their name during the Bon Scott (lead singer here) era. Checkout their gig in 1978 at the Glasgow Apollo, which is raw rock and roll at it's absolute best, and ACDC in their pomp. Let There Be Rock is the best track, but they're all good. Bon Scott sadly died about a year later, after doing all the groundwork for Brian Johnson to build on, but these were the glory years when they were young.
So glad you are watching the footage of 1979 tour. It gives you greater appreciation when you see them 30 years later at 2009 at River Plate Argentina. So reaction for song Sin City and Whole lotta Rosie 1979 Paris, France.

It is not about the Nullabor Plain as Brian Johnson claims(Brian Johnson never met Bon Scott nor did he write to song to know in the first place). I gigged for something like 30 years as an avocation. Monitors work, but sometimes you get a guitar player that gets it too loud to actually hear them (the monitors, you definitely hear the guitar player!) That said, I've often wondered how people actually figure out how to sing in harmony. I've been able to do it my entire life, but I know that somehow it is an acquired skill, I just don't know how I acquired it. But I can hear the 3rd, the 5th, the 7th, the 9th (and the minors, depending on the song) while doing harmony to someone else singing lead. I'd be very interested in a discussion of how the heck we humans can do this. And that said, thank you and I am a new subscriber.
