I’m a hobby woodworker/ mtber and I love all your skilled use of traditional joinery in these builds! I don’t think people understand how hard those joints are to get perfect. A dying craft indeed.
Not a woodworker myself, but yeah my nephew and I watched this tonight both admiring your craftsmanship. Definitely a specialised craft you got there and sick that you use a mix of modern and traditional throughout your builds. Keep up the good work👍 Your Mtb Pals downunder 🇦🇺🚵♂️
@@BackyardTrailBuilds bro TH-cam is doing your last two videos so dirty… never even saw them.. might be time to study more compelling titles and thumbnails? Adobe express is nice for that stuff.
I love how much time you spend caring for each piece of wood that goes into building these features! Those joints are no joke and take lots of patience to fit tight!
I know I'm repeating, but it CAN NOT be understated the amount of work you encapsulated in a short video. You do most if not all everything yourself and with incredible skills, because you love it!! From the comments, I hope you can understand that there are some people who truly know how hard you work and create!! Brother, please take time to care for your back because speaking from experience later in life your body will break down from working the way you do! Seth keep up the journey and thanks for being Awesome! (Loved that you went barefoot putting down the decking)💪😅
I’ve never been on a bike trail or even thought about wood working, but the way you make these videos really sparks my interest in both. Keep doing you
Its only in the last few months that I've really began to appreciate the work and effort trail builders put into the trails, nothing but RESPECT for you 👍👏
This man is insane, I think a lot of people really don't understand what this man has done the past months. He gets better day after day, and his vids are awesome to watch!!
Dude awesome work! Watching this series has been incredible. Howler will be an incredible park, props to you and everyone involved! I hope to be there this weekend 🤠 I’m a little anxious about some of these massive features though, haha 😂
Another great video, love your attention to detail and the added aesthetics to the feature. Also love how you where able to put in your honesty and a little bit of self frustration of having to build it out further. Definitely makes it more relatable lol. Great content as always! Looking forward to your next video!
This is insane. I've just realised I'm actually not too far away. I will try my best to get up there on the 20th. I'm working in arkasas from the uk and luckily brought my bike with me
Missouri is a ways away for me, being from Ontario, but just to get a chance to see your craftsmanship in person is worth the drive down. Another incredible build, love to see how Howler has come together. Expecting an incredible turnout for opening day! Congrats on the entire project!
Awesome build! You can see the original decorative finish behind extended one and it looks even more professional as the woodwork fades back. It’s going to look awesome! As always great work!
I’ve just rewatched all your trail/ feature builds in one binge, so proud of all the hard work you’ve accomplished man. Your wooden features are the best I’ve ever seen!
Signed up for the bike giveaway! This is an awesome build even if it's WAY above my skill level. Enjoyed watching the journey of these 4 massive features and can't wait to see more!
It never ceases to amaze me as to how much time & effort you put into some of the details that may never be seen again. Unfortunately I may never get to ride any of your incredible work, but needless to say there is a massive amount of respect, a huge chunk of appreciation and a giant dollop of awe (with whipped cream on top) for all the trail work you do. Thank you for sharing.
This has been amazing to watch. I live up in KCMO, and cannot wait to get down there to try this place out! I’m also so thankful for you bunch putting Missouri on the MTB map!
Definitely outside my skill level....but I'm excited that this is being built in my favorite part of the state. I'll be there June 3rd to check it all out. Have a great opening weekend!!
Seth, this is so cool. I'm so looking forward to getting over there and checking out the park. Civil engineer and post-frame structure builder observation: on these log joints, and you're probably aware but just in case and for those watching that may not know, always leave a "downhill" route out of the joint for water to run out and not collect. Difficult to explain with words, but for example on your fish mouth joints, just taper the sides down a little so water won't collect in the bottom of the fish mouth as that will lead to rot. Hope that makes sense and again, sweet build!
Thanks, Jeremy! I do tend to do this automatically, but should definitely be mentioning it. Sometimes I'll even drill a bit of a relief hole in the bottom if the joint has to taper inward.
I started on the North Shore, we built a lot of crazy wooden features back then, some were 20 feet up in the trees. these days i'm to broken for building and digging and riding so to keep busy i mostly get involved with trail planning
You are going to be a legendary wood feature builder. Hope to see your success carry your passion around the world and hopefully I'll get to ride one in the future. If Howler wasn't over 13 hours away or I would definitely be there! Keep up the amazing work
Just found your videos Impressed to say the least… Also you really have a talent explaining what you are doing. That’s a beast of a feature by the way… 😳
I’m a hobby woodworker/ mtber and I love all your skilled use of traditional joinery in these builds! I don’t think people understand how hard those joints are to get perfect. A dying craft indeed.
So hard 😅 haha thanks for seeing and appreciating my dude!
Yeah, I'm a woodworking mtber, and I came to say the exact same thing
Not a woodworker myself, but yeah my nephew and I watched this tonight both admiring your craftsmanship. Definitely a specialised craft you got there and sick that you use a mix of modern and traditional throughout your builds. Keep up the good work👍 Your Mtb Pals downunder 🇦🇺🚵♂️
don't think wood joinery's ever gonna die, too beautiful a craft, but it is becoming rarer and rarer in actual construction use
@@BackyardTrailBuilds bro TH-cam is doing your last two videos so dirty… never even saw them.. might be time to study more compelling titles and thumbnails? Adobe express is nice for that stuff.
Amazing work as usual Seth, I’d love to try it some day!
If you do plan to make it to MO with VGY, please post a video that says you are coming. I would love to ride with you both.

Seth doesn’t upload much, but when he does. It’s damn good 🤙
The work you put in was insane I hope everyone appreciates it!!
This guy isn't your average youtuber, the amount of really labor intensive work he does is mental
I love how much time you spend caring for each piece of wood that goes into building these features! Those joints are no joke and take lots of patience to fit tight!
Can't wait to see that massive shark fin be ridden!
