    Brilliant video!Bought 6 tubs for a patio repointing job on the back of this from NCC.Can highly recommend this stuff, so easy to use.I was working at the lower end of the temp range so it took a while to set up.Really amazing product, expensive yes but the saving in time and back breaking graft was worth it.Also really excellent drainage properties, now have zero standing water on the patio.Keep up the great work Tony and thanks for the website

    Can you use Vdw 950+ on sandstone slabs laid on a thick concrete slab? Or do the slabs have to be laid on a permeable substrate?

    what i dont get is it says on most of these brush in tins that the paving needs to be laid on a permeable bed?? how does this work with a full mortar bed??

      There's an explanation on my website - www.pavingexpert.com/faq_permeable_mortars_01.htm - Using these two-part mortars with impermeable bedding is less than ideal, but it's not the end of the world. Contractors in Britain and Ireland have been using them in this way for over 15 years now and I've yet to see a project that's genuinely suffered as a direct consequence of the use of the mortar.

      @@TonyMcCormackType 1 base, 5:1 sharp sand cement mortar and then this?? That is all permeable right??

      @martybli ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jaaammmbbbooo yes that’s classed as a permeable bed.

    Great video. How many 25kg tubs did it take to do that patio? I saw 3 but there may have been more off-camera.

      You should get 12-16m² per tub with that type of flagstone paving, depending on joint width and depth. That patio was around 50m² and took 4 tubs, I think it was

    Hi! For a driveway, is this better than polymeric sand? Does it work well in -30°C winter? I’m from Canada.

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends on your joint width. We don't use polymeric sands for jointing driveways in Britain and Ireland (and the rest of Europe) - they do nothing for the structural integrity or extending the service life, other than emptying your wallet. These 2-part resin mortars are completely different: rock solid and very, very permanent.

    I know it was a while ago now, but do you know if this was "stone grey" or "natural" colour?

    • @TonyMcCormack
      @TonyMcCormack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's the Stone Grey colour - the "Natural" is more or a 'beige' colour.
