Lower power karting is always fun. Much faster than rentals, cheaper than rentals, more demanding setup-wise too. Tyres last longer, brake pads too. you ca even do a couple of weekends before changing oil. No water to drain, no power valves to adjust, no batteries to keep charged... Fernando Alonso would approve (Yest, it's a tony Kart, but it's also an FA) I'm starting to think about dusting off the race overalls!
@@BradPhilpot thanks. I raced LO206 in NZ and it was the same philosophy, old frames, sealed engines, cheap racing. The only difference is that we were not restricted on the amount of tyres, but loads of us were buying used Rotax tyres,there was plenty of life still in them. These 4 strokes are great for endurance races, we used to do one 90 minutes per year, and it was great. I did it once by myself and it was an experience...
Love this Callum! Have you thought about some overlays for laptime/positions etc? Be great to get that extra layer of info :) that first lap was brutal! Great racing, excited to see your progress!
It's an Insta 360 X3, mounted to a little bracket on the Nassau. It's just above the number there. It worked great as the 360 stabilised the wobbling in the panel.
I can’t speak for lawnmowers but GX-UK is roughly £250-300 registration for the season which includes your tyres for the season. Then it’s £125 per round entry fees for Saturday and Sunday combined.
Lawnmowers cost a similar amount to build, £1000-£1500 depending on pace etc. Membership is £50, rounds are £50. Tyres are £70ish a set and they last a season. Fuel is similar in both series, ~5L a weekend.

Being fast in a practice day is very different from being race fast. It takes time. Give it a full season or two, and you will be up the front.
yes body positioning is really important to get the best grip levels in the corners in karting i like the 360 camera footage

Interesting, maybe I will sell up with lawnmower racing and come over to karting. I would miss the 12hr though.
