I've played through Fable with the stick as my only melee weapon before; I never knew that you could get Jack to hurt himself with his own AOE though. Yet another certified Nerbit classic right here.
The name druid is very fitting. in DnD 5e there's a cantrip (basically a level 0 spell you can cast as much as you want) called Shillelagh, which makes clubs and quarterstaffs do more damage, along with being considered magical and using your spellcasting modifier (Wisdom since you're a druid) instead of Strength for your hit chance and damage. So basically, stick bonk good.
Suggestion for a character/historical figure run: “Can you beat Fallout New Vegas as general Douglas MacArthur?” A bit of context: MacArthur was a US general who was famously fired during the Korean War after he revealed that his plan to win the war was to launch a massive tactical nuke attack at the border between the Korean Peninsula and China. His idea was to turn the area into a wasteland to prevent troops and aid to make it to the peninsula. This caused a massive drama both in the US and internationally, so to prevent things from getting worst MacArthur was relief (fired) of duty. Basically this would be a Fat Man focus run. That’s why I suggested New Vegas, as the “Gun Runners' Arsenal” DLC let’s you buy different types of mini nukes. Hopefully this helps to make the challenge more than a pacifist run with extra steps, plus the variety of explosions might help to make the experience less repetitive, and maybe even “tactical” as each type of mini nuke have different aspects. And yes, this would be one of those runs that is less about beating the game, but rather the shenanigans that ensure while using such an OP weapon. In a previous comment someone asked me if MacArthur ever used a .45 (aka the famous 1911 pistol), this let me down a rabbit hole regarding the generals career. Basically despite his willingness to use nukes and being in the military, MacArthur was never a “gun guy”, so he only carried a hand gun for self defence, a gun that during the years changed. First it was a .38 revolver, he used it during the US intervention in the Mexican revolution of the early 1910’s; when he was send to France to fight in WW1 he received and used a 1911 pistol (thought there aren’t any photos of him with the gun); finally between the world wars and all the way to when he fas fired, he used a .32 semi automatic pocket pistol. Checking and the Fallout New Vegas wiki, there are several revolvers: “.357 Magnum”, “Lucky”, “Police Pistol” (I accidentally thought this was a .32 in my previous attempts) that should do the trick for the .38. As for the 1911, since the “.45 automatic pistol” and it’s unique variant “A Light Shining in Darkness” from the “Honest Hearts” DLC are 1911s that isn’t a problem. However without mods, there isn’t anything in NV similar to a .32 pistol pocket pistol, though you could use the 9mm or the 5.56mm since as they are the most similar in calibre to a .32 = 8.128mm. Since MacArthur had a .32 when developing his nuclear addiction, I would say the only pistol you should use from the list is the .32 equivalent. That being said, I think switching between pistols would make the challenge more ridiculous than what it is already. If not getting both “Lucky” and “A Light Shining in Darkness” should be extra objectives for the run. As for the look? The best I can think of is to get general Oliver’s uniform (boots and cap included) and complement it with some massive sunglasses and a smoking pipe, though for that last one anything relatively close to it should do the trick. Someone also mentioned that one of the requirements of the run should be to complete the “Lonesome Road” DLC. I would also suggest collecting all 14 of the normal mini nukes that are in the base game, though I feel like that it might be a bit boring compared to everything else on the run. You should also keep in mind that even though MacArthur worked for the government (US army), he was appointed Chief of Staff of the Army by millionaire turn president Herbert Hoover. So you can either work with the NCR or Mr. House.
Can you beat fallout 4 as an Irishmen? You must buy and drink every bottle of beer you find and be drunk for the entire run. You also must finish Cait’s companion quest.
Nerbit, I dunno if you know this, but I recently did a Fable playthrough and figured out that during the troll fights in the arena, you can back yourself up into the corner in the middle of the arena, and if you can get them to toss their rocks at you at the same time, one swing will knock them both back at the same time. It can be tricky but I thought it was interesting
Can you beat Fallout New Vegas as Raiden? >canablism perk allowed, as Raiden does heal by murder >Rex can be recruited as he does have Bladewolf >can only use bladed weapons, unarmed, grenades, or rocket launchers. >side with Yes Man, and defeat House and the NCR, specifically killing the president with a katana >get as many cyborg implants as possible, old world blues included
Probably not as much of a challenge, but it'd be interesting to see a run using only magic people don't normally use. Fireball, Drain Life, andTurncoat are ones I never used and never see anyone else use.
I ran a Drain Life only save a long time ago, and it turns out that Drain Life is an AoE spell (which the game NEVER tells you). Takes a while to kill enemies, but they literally cannot kill you in a group because Drain Life pulls more health than they can beat out of you. I usually trade back Lightning at the start of the game for Fireball because the aim is less finicky and Fireball explodes on contact so a good shot will hit multiple enemies too. Torching a swarm of wasps in one go is fun.
Next up: Can you Beat Skyrim as a Woodsman? Only use the hunting bow, Iron Dagger, and Woodcutter's axe. Only make money via hunting and woodcutting, only wear plain clothes or armor associated with hunters, such as the elven hunter armor from the creation club. The character could be aptly named "The Woodsman".
I think as long as it's just buffs, I don't think they break the challenge unless it's something stupid op like invincibility, one hit kills, or an exploit like the Skyrim restoration glitch. It'd be like saying you can't use stealth, crits, or drugs in fallout challenges.
Fantastic to see more Fable content pop up from you. I look forward to seeing you best this game with your (magically enhanced) stick. 2:20 - I'm assuming that "Can You Beat Fable With The Wooden Manufactured Deathstick?" was too long of a title, as awesome as it sounds. 6:30 - You beat Whisper's longer and carefully carved stick with your stubbier and more natural stick. Your classic weapon triumphs over hers! 8:18 - An so you decide to enjoy a good old spot of cricket with the troll. How quaint. 11:37 - You've cast no time magic yet and still it seems like the Balverine here is stuck in a time loop. Just an endless existence of bonks to the back. 15:24 - Whisper, how dare you get attack by the traps. We need you to get attacked by the trolls instead. 21:20 - She's just made of tougher stuff. Rather hilarious that all the prisoners had huddled together, made it so much easier for the Kraken. 23:33 - Another battle of the sticks but you keep true to the natural form of the almighty stick! 26:11 - Jack's attack hurts himself? Oh my gosh; I never knew that. So Jack is taken down by himself... and very splinter filled foot. 31:34 - Oh the tragic irony; bested by the very same stick he tried to have you throw away.
BG3 is going to be too big for the quantity of these types of challenges to come out for a long time. But boy oh boy will it also make each one that much crazier when you do one (if youre willing to put the time in eventually to a meme run)
Either your in my youtube search history some how, or my mind because i was looking for a stick only run on fable. I am curious why you never use healing since it heals you and your escorts. recently saw some fun challenges on this game. You should try "bow only, mercenaries only, summons only" some others exist but thier fun.
Just so you know, I watch your challenges because of the production and the unique way a playthrough happens due to rules, please play whatever game you want in the future. 🤙
rule being 'with the stick' is you can only use the stick to deal damage, you can use spells, so long as no NPC is damaged with something other than the stick. 'spirit of the run' is getting into the 'technically correct' aspect of the thing, but the definiton of 'with the stick is 'no NPC is damaged from any other source except the stick. you can use skills, abilities and items, so long as none of those skills, abilities or items damage the NPC with anything other than the stick.
I honestly did not know that you could deflect the boulders back at the golem and ive goen though lost chapters a number of times. Enjoying your content a lot! Hi Nerbit! I wish more people did challenge runs like you do. I love Dark Souls, but all of the challenge runs that people make sound so miserable that they don’t seem interesting to watch. I love how your runs are both not too challenging that they are impossible, but not too easy that they are trivial. It doesn’t seem like your favorite game, but I’d love it you did more Dark Souls content. Maybe something like weapon challenges? Love your vids 😊

"It's when we get to the docks that things get dire dire." I legit had to back up the video to confirm you had made the joke I thought you had. These things are why I love your stuff, Nerbit. Don't change.
My best friend every time I have done a stick play through (or any melee build) is the shield spell. It’s very helpful in the white balvorine quest since being hit doesn’t break your flow. Even with trolls it just pushes you away
You should absolutely do more vids on fable 1 it's personally one of my favorite game of all time great but I've never done a stick only playthrough so ik what I've gotta try
Been watching a few fable videos recently and one thing I keep noticing is that most don't make use of the wait function for the Trader Escort quest. Having the traders wait in the first area you meet them while you go clear the next two areas. Then have them wait at the trader camp, while clearing the last two areas.
One thing I love about Fable: The Lost Chapters that sets it apart from the other two is everyone can basically come up with their own playstyle that is likely broken in some way. Mine? I go mostly for a full warrior build as I'm gonna be using melee weapons alot, a small handful of spells, and a few handfuls of occasions of using the bow, most of the time paired with another spell. For my bow, I got for longbows. For my spells, my main one that is the key to being broken: Physical Shield. As long as I have plenty of mana potions, I will pretty much never take damage. I also keep the Heal Life spell handy for those damn escort missions, and I also use Multi-Arrow, which proves to be incredibly useful and gives me alot of incentive to use the bow. I almost never pick up Force Push because I always seem to accidentally use it and accidentally harm villagers with it. Oh, and I often abuse the living hell out of the economy. So yeah, that's my personal build.
If i remember correctly, there was a summon spell in Fable that makes it that the summon becomes whatever it kills as long as the "creature" makes a final blow. And it works to the point that you can summon Jack's minion if i remember correctly, not so sure about the summoner. So...
as someone currently doing a magic only run good luck getting the starting wasp summon to kill anything to upgrade itself, the bandits at the start of the game 1 shot it and half the time the summon doesn't even acknowledge enemies until you go in for a melee attack
To explain the lemon thing. Lemon is a slang term for an object that is broken or defective. Nowadays you mostly hear it to describe cars but originally is was a term for someone who was a simpleton. There is actually a lot more to the phrase since it dates back to at least the early 1900s but that should at least help you understand it.
I think that a fallout 3 run while doing every good karma action you possibly can would be awesome, informative, binge worthy, and would also cure world hunger
Had an odd thought. I know it would be extremely easy with a melee build, but I think it would be kind of fun to do a run of FO4 as Eustis Bagge from Courage the Cowardly Dog. Other than making the character look like Eustis, he must wear glasses and can only use the double barrel shotgun (very rarely in the show) and an unmodified sledgehammer (mallet).
Can you beat Fable as a support class? The rules; Unless otherwise mandatory for progression, such as the tutorials or the prison, your main source of damage must come from either Hired Hands(mercs, guards, etc), Summon and Ghost Sword. You are not allowed to swing a weapon at an enemy unless the game physically will not let you progress. Any spell that does not directly damage an enemy is allowed; Slow Time, Turncoat(though good characters can't master it), Assassin Rush(deals no damage, only puts you behind an enemy), and Heal Life(applies to allies as well) I honestly forget if Physical Shield deals any damage to enemies, but it keeps the combo count from going down on getting hit and you will need as much exp as you can muster You are free to choose to take the Archer version of this challenge where you only opt to not use a Melee weapon to kill enemies with the rest of the restrictions and the addition of Multi-Arrow, but I think it would be interesting to see just how far you can go off the backs of others before you have to resort to dusting off a bow.
You should do a video where you try to beat fallout 4, but any rads you get you have to keep. So basically a normal run but you cant use things to stop rads like radaway, rad-x, power armor, hazmat suit, etc.
praise be to the stick god! Chalenge idea, can you finish TES V - Skyrim as a Witcher? rules(kinda optional): -may have an iron or steel weapon to kill humans, "nonhumans"( elfs, orcs, argonians and khajiit) and animals and a silver sword to kill monsters, undeads and magical beings -may only use flames, ward and "charm" spells (shouts are ok, consider them a mutation) -must make your own potions -must do at least 1 sidequest to kill a specific monster/undead/magical being ps:i think its fair to have a crossbow for whatever reason
a neat run to do is an only loot run chests fishing and quest are the only form of weapons and clothing however you could also do a 100% demon door while doing so and get a full bright plate as it is needed for one of the doors
I'm pretty sure I've watched most of your run videos more than once. Gotta say all the "rule breaks" like the dummy don't matter. After all it's more about the enjoyment of watching the wacky shit that happens in your videos than the actual end goal anyways.
Can you beat Fable/Skyrim drunk? Or a Fallout with a drunk effect modded in? As soon as possible must always have the swimming drunk effect active.
This is an incredible idea
make it northern irishman and add a rule to explode every car you see
Nerbit always adds that one onto his existing fallout 4 challenge vids, just in reality as opposed to the game.
Fun fact: Caits voice actor is actually scottish and her fake cait/irish accent is pretty bad
How about also fully upgrading the beer bot too?
Just what I needed today, more Nerbit.
Is this an insult
this makes me excited for the new fable game. amazing run as always!
“Are you just gonna stand there like a lemon?” lives rent free in my head, and no one ever knows what I’m talking about 😅
Nerbit, I dunno if you know this, but I recently did a Fable playthrough and figured out that during the troll fights in the arena, you can back yourself up into the corner in the middle of the arena, and if you can get them to toss their rocks at you at the same time, one swing will knock them both back at the same time. It can be tricky but I thought it was interesting
Can you beat Fallout New Vegas as Raiden?
>canablism perk allowed, as Raiden does heal by murder
>Rex can be recruited as he does have Bladewolf
>can only use bladed weapons, unarmed, grenades, or rocket launchers.
>side with Yes Man, and defeat House and the NCR, specifically killing the president with a katana
>get as many cyborg implants as possible, old world blues included
I can’t stop myself, every Friday I refresh my page until I see the new challenge run
It's always 5PM BST so if you aren't in the UK just convert that to your own time so you won't need to constantly refresh lol
@@Nerbit13098 yes sir 🫡
“You can just pound away until they get on their knees and are ready to blow.”
Man I wish I knew a summoner.
Fireball fully leveled is a gamebreaker. You can break doors and commit murders with the splash damage and the damage is incredible.
I remember hopping in an editor way back in like 2002 and making the stick do max damage lmao
I really love this game
It's one of my favourites of all time, always try to find time to playthrough it at least once a year
@@Nerbit13098Do you prefer the original TLC or the remaster? I think the remaster ruined the aesthetic
...The fact that the dummy is alive raises a lot of implications and I don't think there's a single one that's good.
Can you beat skyrim as the daedra equivalent of a pokemon trainer? Summons only. The dragon masks act as gym badges.
I've become a fan recently, fables my favorite game of all time, love these videos.
I think as long as it's just buffs, I don't think they break the challenge unless it's something stupid op like invincibility, one hit kills, or an exploit like the Skyrim restoration glitch.
It'd be like saying you can't use stealth, crits, or drugs in fallout challenges.
That second phase of Jack was the equivalent of winning a fight by making your opponent break their fist from punching you in the face too much.
Guess you could say Nerbit really knows how to stick it to ‘em
Love your videos you're the reason i got into watching challenge runs. The commentary is worth watching alone 👌 keep up the good work
Either your in my youtube search history some how, or my mind because i was looking for a stick only run on fable. I am curious why you never use healing since it heals you and your escorts.
recently saw some fun challenges on this game. You should try "bow only, mercenaries only, summons only" some others exist but thier fun.
At the end of the run I actually started pondering a run where I used just summons and mercenaries lol
Multi strike would have been the first spell I used for a stick only run. Much respect for going that far till you thought of it 👏
Maybe next year we can get a fable anniversary fists only run😂🤷♂️
I'd be down for that lmao
@@Nerbit13098 then it shall (eventually) be done🤣
Fable videos might be my fave (sorry new vegas) but so glad to see it back
They are always some of my favourite to make, hence why they are all around 30 minutes each lol
"You can just pound away until they get on their knees and are ready to blow" -Nerbit, 2023
Seeing KJFreshly in your video was such a nice throwback, used to love his streams so much!
I honestly did not know that you could deflect the boulders back at the golem and ive goen though lost chapters a number of times. Enjoying your content a lot! Just finished binging all your level one play throughs for fable 1, 2, and 3 and liked them a lot! got the metal gear solid marathon queued next!
Ive beat it 7 times. The real challenge is beating the game only using will powers. It turns from Zelda to Darksouls real fast.
I get a wee dopamine rush every time I realise that we’re nearing another Friday and we’re gonna get another new Nerbit video!! Such excite!!
19:42 the undead start coming and they don’t stop coming
Grab nostros gear or they hit you from the ground while your running
Hey now your a hero get your stick on
Go slay
Well now that you have purged the land with the stick of bonking, the world of Fable will never be horny anymore
The undead actually do stop respawning. I usually use the undead for farming exp.
I need more of the fable content! So glad I found this channel.
I like seeing your videos pop up so I can just disconnect from reality for a bit and watch the NERBIT!
Oh! You can absolutely do this! Because I DID THIS EXACT CHALLENGE when I was a kid!
And boy was it surprisingly cathartic.
Man your videos make my night shift job so much better. But I have to ask:
Can you beat Fable with only demon door items?
01:13... kick that chicken!!! .... aww :(
"It's when we get to the docks that things get dire dire."
I legit had to back up the video to confirm you had made the joke I thought you had.
These things are why I love your stuff, Nerbit. Don't change.
I’ve played this game so many times and I’ve never seen that animation of the Bargate guard pissing on the player. Crazy.
I hecking love Fable
Been watching a few fable videos recently and one thing I keep noticing is that most don't make use of the wait function for the Trader Escort quest. Having the traders wait in the first area you meet them while you go clear the next two areas. Then have them wait at the trader camp, while clearing the last two areas.
I never knew that you could hit the rocks back!
I loved fable as a kid, this was super fun to watch. Thanks
Something I look forward to weekly. Thanks Nerbit, you do the gimmick runs I dream of, but will never do.
4:45 i feel like you shouldn't do that because eventually this'll become 'can you beat fable with a toothpick?'
My man really made a dire dire docks joke
Your Fable video made me want to play the game, now I love the series
If i remember correctly, there was a summon spell in Fable that makes it that the summon becomes whatever it kills as long as the "creature" makes a final blow. And it works to the point that you can summon Jack's minion if i remember correctly, not so sure about the summoner. So...
This seems like a great way to develop depression and a hatred for Fable. I'm truly impressed you stuck with it.
as someone currently doing a magic only run good luck getting the starting wasp summon to kill anything to upgrade itself, the bandits at the start of the game 1 shot it and half the time the summon doesn't even acknowledge enemies until you go in for a melee attack
Anyone else count down the days for a nerbit upload? Absolutely love these videos
I think that a fallout 3 run while doing every good karma action you possibly can would be awesome, informative, binge worthy, and would also cure world hunger
I love how every game no matter what without Fail there will always be some sort of Metal Gear mention/reference, you and I would be great friends
1:47 "...recruits us into his PMC..." That's... surprisingly f***ed up if you think about it.
I also tend to play through fable every year so good to see this
Had an odd thought.
Any spell that does not directly damage an enemy is allowed; Slow Time, Turncoat(though good characters can't master it), Assassin Rush(deals no damage, only puts you behind an enemy), and Heal Life(applies to allies as well)
I honestly forget if Physical Shield deals any damage to enemies, but it keeps the combo count from going down on getting hit and you will need as much exp as you can muster
You are free to choose to take the Archer version of this challenge where you only opt to not use a Melee weapon to kill enemies with the rest of the restrictions and the addition of Multi-Arrow, but I think it would be interesting to see just how far you can go off the backs of others before you have to resort to dusting off a bow.
Theres a certain happiness I feel watching these videos as another Northern Irishman who also plays Fable at least once a year
You should do a video where you try to beat fallout 4, but any rads you get you have to keep. So basically a normal run but you cant use things to stop rads like radaway, rad-x, power armor, hazmat suit, etc.
That narrative satisfaction when you did, in fact, put that old stick away.
Nothing brings me joy like Fable content, thank you
We need more fable challenge videos. We need to see how you deal with fable 2 and fable 3 in the most bizarre ways possible
praise be to the stick god!
Chalenge idea, can you finish TES V - Skyrim as a Witcher?
rules(kinda optional):
-may have an iron or steel weapon to kill humans, "nonhumans"( elfs, orcs, argonians and khajiit) and animals and a silver sword to kill monsters, undeads and magical beings
-may only use flames, ward and "charm" spells (shouts are ok, consider them a mutation)
-must make your own potions
-must do at least 1 sidequest to kill a specific monster/undead/magical being
ps:i think its fair to have a crossbow for whatever reason
Nerbit, that's a stick.
a neat run to do is an only loot run chests fishing and quest are the only form of weapons and clothing however you could also do a 100% demon door while doing so and get a full bright plate as it is needed for one of the doors
Can you beat the fable series as Palpatine? Zappy Zappy!
I'm pretty sure I've watched most of your run videos more than once. Gotta say all the "rule breaks" like the dummy don't matter. After all it's more about the enjoyment of watching the wacky shit that happens in your videos than the actual end goal anyways.
LOOK OUT! HE'S GOT A BOARD WITH A NAIL IN IT!
Yeah I know there's not a nail in it but I love using that line
Can you beat Fable/Skyrim drunk? Or a Fallout with a drunk effect modded in? As soon as possible must always have the swimming drunk effect active. I imagine the difficulty will be having enough alcohol on hand to keep the effect going (I'm not sure if it's even possible to keep the effect in any of these games going that long).
Non-Bethesda videos are some of the greatest on this channel! More please!!
