- Nirvana’s cover of Lead Belly’s Where Did You Sleep Last Night live in Paris, France February 14th 1994 remastered and remixed. This would be the bands final performance of this song and is ranked first on livenirvana.com’s Top 10 Nirvana Live Songs. I boosted the guitar and drums and evened everything out.

This one managed to give me more shivers than the actual MTV version. Kurt continues to impress me even decades later
It is probably because Kurt was just told he had been cheated on by his wife
Listening to this version for the first time, thirty years after it was performed. The power behind this is insane. Rest easy Kurt.
This one is almost pushing past song into pure emotion… when you’re in that kind of pain, this is the version you want to hear
That psychedelic and sad touch of this bastard, there will be no other like him, believe me
4:37 The human feeling that Kurt was going through is so terribly strong that the microphone can't stand it and the microphone itself almost moans, shocking as hell.
it is kurt vocals
but still heartbreaking
that feeback at the end sounds like the guitar is crying.
Yeah really cool to hear their usual end of show feedback with their acoustic guitars
The best version we will have of Where did you sleep last night, I appreciate being able to listen to this unique piece of music. And this song was not going to appear in this concert but they say that Courtney cheated on Kurt that same night and someone told Kurt about it and he diverted to that song, Courtney had promised Kurt that they would celebrate that 14th together, instead I give him a shameless hoax, thus triggering the best cover of Where did you sleep last night.
Where did you read that she cheated on him earlier that night??
@@wormskull2454 google it, its a fact she cheated on him with Billy who she originally left for Kurt and she chose to stay in London with Billy ands not fly to Paris with Kurt but yeah she cheated and the storys true, google "Courtney Love cheated on Kurt Paris" and something will probably pop up
I’ve listened to the MTV version many many times, I can say I wish I had the video of this version. He sounds tormented in this one with something heavy on his heart and mind. RIP Kurt. I hope you made it to the afterlife.
apparently courtney cheated on him on valentines day while she was supposed to be with on the 14th but she canceled calling kurt saying she needs to finish her album but was told she was with some guy instead being ag the studio and after he found out he opened up with this song
This is 6 days befor his birthday..and a month and a half befor the world gets one of its biggest losses..
Pain and sorrow
This was 30 years ago today 💔
The cello here is the best way the song should be done imo
my favorite muscian oat . thank you
So beautiful song and voice😢
I think that at that time he enjoyed playing that song more because of everything that was happening with Courtney. The unhappiness was not because of his fame, it was really that Courtney didn't love him and he felt it.
I'm not sure that "enjoyed" is the right word given that he was so despondent that he took his own life 7 weeks later.
Much better than the MTV unplugged version
yo i know u I watch ur content
hard agree. he should have played nirvana's hit song Can't Stop Partying though
I have never heard this one...its gving me chills 💞
this is actually the most beautiful performance
This is great! Thank you :)
This was an amazing performance!!! Ty for posting. Cheers
kurt cobain is the goat
😢 Courtney actually killed kurt inside , i felt this
First of all thankyou so much for this ! And where can I find lossless ver. of this ?
Happy Valentine's Day!
It would be funny if he sang with a french accent
pain
Can totally hear the influence of freakfolk on Kurt here
It's a Leadbelly song
Cruel
The biggest loss to music by far! Morrison was more a poet then a musician,Hendrix was great but he never wrote great songs,Janis didn't write songs, Lennon hadn't wrote a good song in nearly ten yrs,Prince was finished, MJ was a nonce but Kurt was only getting started! I reckon he could write an album like nevermind anytime he wanted, people put it down a bit to look cool but remember when you first heard that album it's punk pop genius! He was one of the most powerful performers ever!!
Not punk pop but yeah
The worst take I’ve ever read
@@jeffreyshroomstein3232 the worst opinion I've ever read
Little Wing and both Voodoo Child and Voodoo Chile were masterpieces. Wtf are you talking about.
