I've watched this about 30 times in the last 2 days😂 I can't stop watching it, it's great. Only a couple things I'd change but oh well. Merle was such a good character, definitely my favourite

I hate how much Merle suffered before his death, especially when he was finally beginning to change his ways. It's heartbreaking.

If Daryl will ever die, I hope they show some flashbacks off Merle and Daryl bonding together before the world ended. Similar to what they did with Sasha and Abraham.

The end is so I sad I almost cried "Thinking to my self, a bullet might make a good last meal take myself a nice long nap after and wait for Daryl on the other side". Fucking Gold man it is so sad that he had to go. This shows that he isn't a ruthless killing machine he has feelings to and it is amazing that maybe that is what it is like just a long nap and when your loved ones pass you wake up and after all that waiting you get to spend eternity together.

Merle was my favourite and I cried like a bitch when he died.
He was the only child for at least ten years, had to deal with his careless mother and abusive father, met the wrong people and did tre wrong things, but at the end of the day, he was a good man. A really good one that would do anything for his brother.

Finally. Someone who sees it my way. I related to him so much. Up until his death, I thought the governor was a cool villain, but when he killed Merle the way he did… Even if Rick had skinned The Governor alive it wouldn’t have been enough… shit still hurts all these years later 😞

Great final words for a guy like Merle. Not sure how true this is but I heard when he says his final words he's not talking to the governor, he's talking to god. He knows he wasn't a saint and even in his final moments he doesn't whimper or cry he own his death and accepts whatever is waiting for him on the other side good or bad if anything at all.

Back when The Walking Dead was good.
This show has changed so much from its earlier seasons, season 5 and 6 have better ratings but it just doesn't feel like the walking dead anymore, i still love the show but something is missing in these last 2-3 seasons
Thinking the exact same thing dude. after season 3 it just started to feel less and less like the walking dead. i just watched the new episode and it feels like im watching a different show which sucks so much because the last thing i want is the walking dead to go down that path.
after season 3 it just got better, more character development, and mostly every character in ricks group feels like a part of family, which I dont want anyone to get killed.

I actually didn't like how they drew out Lori and Shane's relationship drama in season two. In the comics Shane didn't even last THAT long, but they made him a straight up Villain so they needed him all season.
Been watching this video for nearly a year now. It still makes me tear up. Merle was my favorite character no doubt, even though he kinda gave me nightmares because I watched The Walking Dead when I was younger, I still do but it's just not the same without Merle. He shouldn't have died so soon.

Why does nobody ever talk about merle? Merle first started off as a complete piece of shit in season 1 being completely one dimensional only for him to return and all of that simplicity to be stripped away giving him his redeption but tragically killing him its a damn good piece of character work

Great character. His story was short but it didn’t have a reason to be longer. Keep it short and you take him away right when you almost enjoy him. His redemption story was very, very good considering his past. I don’t think he was a good man, but he wasn’t all bad either.

Merle didn't deserve to die. Even though he was a duck and treated everyone like shit, he was amazing. Literally the only reason he acts like the way he did was because he had to build walls to protect himself from what happened to him as a kid.

Just imagine Merle survives through the first six seasons and dies by Negan (instead of Glenn), that would have given enough time for Merle’s character development and would have also reasonably infuriated many key characters in more interesting ways
I got so emotional watching this, I haven't cried this much in years. The early seasons of the walking dead were so great, I remember owning the first 2 seasons on DVD and my mum wouldn't let me watch them but of course I couldn't resist zombies😂
It's such a shame to see what this show became,it has dropped in quality so much it's so hard to keep watching it. But I'm so glad that I've been apart of this journey and to grow up with this show.
I also love the first 3 seasons of fear the walking dead, but unfortunately that too has gone downhill.
Buuuuut... I did start reading the comics a while ago and the are amazing, way better than the show, the characters are amazing and the character relationships and groups make more sense(e.g. sidiq and Gabriel dating Rosita and Carol with king Ezekiel, etc) the pacing is so much better, just when you start to get bored and feel like it's slowing down BOOM! Your right back in the action again, and the villans are way better. The governer is way scarier, and negan is hilarious.
Please read the comics you won't regret it.

I'll always wish Merle didn't die, while it did develop Daryl into a good character, Merle would've been very useful in the later seasons. It would've been nicer for Rick to come in and save Merle at the last second, so it would be a way of Rick trying to pay Merle back for helping save him at the prison
