It was a violation for selling tobacco products to minors. She was not put in handcuffs and arrested. She likely had her older sister's "Fake" ID, to buy beer.
People do that all of the time unfortunately. One of the reasons why it wasn't corrected immediately is because of the charges. That jurisdiction only cared about collecting the money for the fines. You wouldn't spend a long time in jail if arrested for such an offense anyway, so they won't spend time trying to figure out if you are who you say you are. Had they ran the defendant's name she probably would have had more problems if she already had warrants or was on probation. So she used her sister's name and information because she knew she didn't have a record.
If the defendant is dedicated to cleaning up her life, taking responsibility for the wrongful things she has done is an important step. The fact that she is still unwilling to do that speaks volumes.
This was a terrible thing to do to her sister, it is not easy to resolve one's identity being stolen. For her to have it expunged is expensive. What terrible person her sister is.
If the plaintiff didn't have a record prior it falls under first offender and wouldn't need to be expunged. That's why her sister used her name. Not paying the fines is what could cause it to show on her record because it would still be an open case. Very tough spot to be in.
Young lady, part of being in recovery is owning up to the behavior you did while using. It's great you're 3 years clean. But take ownership of your past.
The charges are so petty to begin with. A normal person wouldn't need to lie about who they are. They would just pay the flipping $300 and go on with their life.
I hate when people think that "I was on drugs/alcohol" is a legitimate reason to be horrible humans, and that getting clean absolves them from being responsible for their past.
If Vada was my sister?!? We wouldn't be in court because she would know not to pull that sht on me. To do that to your own sister? That's not right in any way.
It’s ridiculous that you can get arrested and claim to be someone else and they put charges on the name you provide without verifying whether that is your real identity. They don’t look alike so a picture ID can quickly prove who she actually is unless she has an ID with her picture but her sister’s name on it.

I'm glad the sister is clean now but what she did is terrible.
This was one of the most sad cases to me. The look of sadness and defeat in the blonde sisters eyes was so telling.
I love how prepared the plaintiff is in this case
Young lady, part of being in recovery is owning up to the behavior you did while using. It's great you're 3 years clean. But take ownership of your past.
Kinda shows how absurd the US justice system is! Coops need know ho they got!
What a rotten sister to ruin her good sisters reputation........
It’s ridiculous that you can get arrested and claim to be someone else and they put charges on the name you provide without verifying whether that is your real identity. They don’t look alike so a picture ID can quickly prove who she actually is unless she has an ID with her picture but her sister’s name on it.
Just a reminder that drugs turn the best of people into vultures that don’t care who they hurt to get a fix
I miss the aftermath interviews 😢
The way they would’ve had to pull me off her ass for screwing my life up because she wanted to use my identity. Ohhhh baby!
She was super prepared. Loves it. But yea, it is common to use a friends name or a loved ones name if your record isnt the best. Ive known many to do this. But this is very unconsiderate to put all of this on your clearly hard working sister. But she was also on drugs....
Well first of all the sister, if sober, is not working a program for recovery which requires they make amends for the wrongs they've done.
With a sister like that who needs enemies smh 🤦🏾♀️
To be honest guys I'm just looking at these two girls and I can't imagine why they're there
I'm so proud of that girl, not that means anything, but she was taught well. Very prepared .How on earth are they sisters? The world may never know. What a dark cloud and a walking embodiment of shame her sister is.
ROFL The Defendants face at 2:18 😳
I never thought about this, but just imagine being part of an identical twin that is a loser that is capable doing something like this. I don't think I could ever trust a person that could steal my ID and pass for it.....
She’s very smart.. Her sister is so wrong for doing her like that!!
Imagine doing that to your own sister?! Especially when she's in law enforcement. Disgusting.
Clean and sober but still acting like an addict. Good for the sister for not taking it.
This plaintiff is great! Best of luck to her hopes she does well!
Of all the people in the world, why use your SISTER'S identity when getting arrested?!
The most prepared plaintiff ever on judge Judy!!!!
Well done 👏🏻
i hope she don't talk to her anymore she needs to block her out of her life
