Completely Prepared!! That young lady was better prepared than some attorneys almost all of the other plaintiffs I have seen. And so professionally in control of her emotions. Amazing young lady!
Bravo indeed! That’s why she is making something of herself! In college taking care of business. Also it took me years to master my emotions much later in life. We don’t choose our family but we do control ourselves.
Well said
Got goose bumps seeing how well prepared she was,all her evidence was on point.
Agreed!! Impressive!
Makes sense since they said this was jeopardizing her career in law enforcement, whether she has the job now or is going to school for it, she clearly has a vested interest in this kind of thing.
Two points: a shining example of who should be entering law enforcement & much respect the Judge Judy offered to help get her record expunged.
lol law enforcement. what a crock. most don't know laws.
Too many crooked cops unfortunately. Remember, she is ONLY DOING THIS FOR HERSELF. She isn't necessarily a GOOD PERSON at all.
@@tenin982000 She was fully prepared & organized. She waited until asked for specific information was asked for, then immediately provided it. Additionally, she got her sister to say, on tape, that they had no proof it was her because they didn’t take her finger prints. I don’t know what specific area of law enforcement she aspired towards, but she definitely has the intelligence & demeanour which should be the hallmark of those entering the field.
@@stratfordbabyShe isn't necessarily a bad person at all either. Talk about prejudiced! Sure there are too many crooked cops. Not all are crooked. There are lots of crooked civilians too. Sounds like you have a bone to pick, but don't take it out on her. You really have insufficient information to condemn her based on your bias. And make no mistake, just because you qualify with "necessarily" doesn't make it any less of a condemnation.
@@stratfordbaby Good job criticizing a crime victim. The young woman did nothing wrong and she will have to spend thousands of dollars on lawyers as well as credit repair specialists to fix the damage. Typing in capital letters doesn't make your myopic statement more persuasive.
What a horrible sister to create such a mess.
people do this all the time
@@joymcguire I know, it's wild. Somebody did that to me the other day. Fortunately, I was using someone else's ID at the time so jokes on him.
Typical behavior of an addict.
She was on drugs. People on drugs do things they wouldn't do when they're clean.
@@jeffrowisdabest poor excuse
You can't choose family, but you can flush a turd.
Amen to that statement.
😅
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Stealing this line - perfect!
😂😂😂
Anyone else loved seeing how prepared the young lady was!?
Damn, this case is really making Byrd work with the constant walking back and forth! But that girl really came prepared and I love that Judge Judy offered to help her at the end of it.
JJ even listened to the hearsay at the end. Good case
"They didn't finger print or anything,"
WHAT how would you know that unless it was YOUR experience.....the fuuuuqqq
Oh yes
My sister did this to me and finger printing means nothing..to this day her prints are STILL linked to my name and I can’t get it fixed…it’s a terrible experience it took so much work and time and stress to get the charges off my name..
@@nathalieperreault2592 no after she did what she did my whole family was angry and besides my dad cut ties. I did talk to her shortly after telling her to fix it and she refused. To this day never received an apology. Now that our father died she has no one left who wants contact. She even used my ssn when arrested so that’s all screwed too so tax time is a nightmare
@@rainbowwildcat34Can't you take her to court and get a judge to fix this? They can order them to take both fingerprints and fix it?
@@perfectlyimperfect9129 sadly no I already pressed charges for identity theft and I have talked to the judge, prosecutor, and her arresting officer and their Sargent. Sadly the only way I can fix it is if I fly to Utah and go into the records department and get finger printed and I live on the other side of the us and have kids I can’t afford nor have the time to do that. Saddest part is she can do it again in another state because they don’t share that type of information. So in both Utah and Oregon they have notes on her fingerprints saying she steals my identity with her real information. What’s sad is the police should use Facebook to insure identity if they only searched my name they would have seen we look NOTHING alike.
This is what I call CYA!!!! I love it. She came prepared!!!! Undeniable proof that it wasn't her, a recording, paperwork from school showing where she was. This is how handle business when you know someone is trying to get over on u.
Yep Girlfriend was READY and Meant BUSINESS!
Her name WILL NOT be tarnished!!!
Well her name is tarnished. You think appearing on judge Judy is not one of the most embarrassing things on the planet? How about you speak English as well?
@@sirloin7633 How many languages do YOU speak? Her english is perfect. You seem to be quite ignorant yourself.
@sirloin7633 well her comment went right over your head🤣🤣🤣
@@sirloin7633 Just stop. You’re
embarrassing yourself.
The plaintiff was rolling out those receipts in grand style. She came prepared!!!
The defendant is an unkind sister for sure!! This is not how you treat family!! The benefits of a good name cannot be overemphasized!!
I'm happy with the verdict!!
Glad she got the maximum. What a headache.
Impressed with the blonde sister… disgusted with the brunette sister. Who does that to your own sister? The brunette should still be in jail for doing that to her sister!
Couldn't you call them the plaintiff and defendant?
I don't understand how a family member could do that to one another. I am curious after the show originally aired if the fraud didn't go back and bite her (brunette sister) again.
I’m clean and sober!
What about making amends and taking responsibility, then?
What BS, glad Kayla was prepared.
She's a liar. Quite glib. Excuses fall right out of her mouth.
All that means is she doesn't do the drugs or drink anymore, doesn't mean mentally she's rehabilitated - until then she'll still find a way to blame other people for her past messes.
you never see litigants this prepared on Judge Judy I was impressed.
Yup, she was def prepared. This case reminds me of the one where the plaintiff brought a pair of shoes and the defendant's rap sheet as evidence lol
I don't understand how you can be "arrested" and not be "finger printed" and "photographed".
You can get a ticket. You only get finger printed if you're booked into a facility, like a jail. For things like shoplifting, drug paraphernalia etc they'll give you a misdemeanor ticket with a court date.
I believe in this instant the sister didn’t get arrested, she just got the ticket of $324.
Ive been arrested like 3 times on traffic tickets and let go within an hour of paying a fine. They didn't finger print take pic anything.
Exactly they also ask for your ID wth were these cops doing????
@@xKouture if someone doesnt have their ID on them then they ask you for your name and dob. She looks like her sister and she obviously knows her name and dob so it doesn't look like she's making it up.
That was nice for Judge Judy to say that at the end....that she'll find someone to take care of it
I think what she meant by that was giving her the maximum reward so she could afford someone to take care of it
I believe she meant both.
The woman only was owed $400 and the rest of the money requested was to pay someone to help her expunge her record. So JJ was saying she was going to award her the maximum amount, $5000, to pay a lawyer.
@@cb5156 JJ has about 30 cases to go through each day. She's not going to stop and do some work for someone outside of the parameters of the TV series. She just meant she was giving her the maximum amount of a judgment so she had plenty of money to hire someone to expunge this from her record. Even more than the plaintiff asked for.
@@johnsmi213 or one of the people who works on her show finds her representation.
Came completely prepared with proof & she spoke when necessary, this plaintiff was great!
One of the few cases that Judge Judy awards the max if you ask.
This is actually kinda sad
Kinda?
That sister is a monster for what she did. I have no sympathy for her.
Girl was ready to win her case. I'd be proud to have a well organised daughter like that.
Kayla should have been cast on HTGAWM as one of the Keating Five! She’d give Wes, Lauren, Oliver Mikayla and Connor a run for their money 💰
The degree of organization by the plaintiff is impeccable. She'd be an asset to any organization - definitely, a winner by any standards.
Kayla is a smart young lady!
Miss Ma'am had ALL the receipts, kept a cool head, and then the cherry on the top from Judge Judy at the end: “Let's see if we can help you do that: Judgement for the plaintiff in the amount of $5,000.” 😁 Chef's kiss! 😘
Wow. I’m so glad plaintiff approached this so logically and not emotionally. Thank you Judge Judy.
Poor plaintiff. Her sister needs to get help and get herself together because what she did was very low and irresponsible and no remorse for her actions.
If she were really 3 years clean she wouldn't be trying to pin this on her sister still
Addictions....the beginning of the end.
Wow. And she is not even sorry or taking responsibilty. I seriously doubt her claim of recovery. She has been unable to tell the truth to law enforcement and there is nothing to prevent her from lying in this court. If and when she does this again, her sister needs to sue her again and again. Unconscionable.
I would never speak to my sister again. That's just evil and life ruining
If drugs were the reason for her "past" behavior, what's the excuse for her current behavior? What's preventing her from cleari😂ng her sister's name now? The Defendant's actions are still affecting her sister, past drug use or not, she currently still sucks and clearly has no remorse.
My guess is she's not working any steps and hasn't got to step 8 yet. "Made amends to all persons we had harmed."
*affecting
@@BasicYTHandle 🙂
@@BasicYTHandle I just re-read my post and that stuck out like a sore thumb. I ALWAYS get affecting/effecting wrong. Always😂.
Kayla will go far, the other one.....just as far as the local jail. Best Wishes to Kayla.
Addiction truly turns you into a different person.
But when you sober up you have to take responsibility for the damage u cause
No it doesn't. Drugs cause brain damage, but they don't change who you are at your core. I was a drug addict for years, I never stole anything and I never blamed my problems on drug use. I have ten years of sobriety.
you still know right and wrong and still make choices.
@@frigid4realdepends on the type of drug, plus also drugs open portals to demons.
@@mikeaddison5697 AA's steps #8 & 9 (I just looked this up): 8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. 9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible. . .
I’m totally impressed with the plaintiff, she was very prepared which made things flow smoothly
I love how Judge Judy at the end, in regards to the process of the plaintiff trying to get her record expunged, said:
"Let's see if we can help you do that."
I'm hoping for the best for the plaintiff, and I hope the defendant can start taking responsibility for her actions. It seems one sister has grown up, while the other has a long, LONG way to go.
The plaintiff has came to court completely prepared. The defendant is a piece of work. And the defendant should be ashamed of herself for doing this to her sister
You know it's bad when Judge Judy gave the maximum. I felt so bad for the Plaintiff
It's good that she brought her sister in front of the TV so that if she repeats it everyone will know.
Judge Judy was proud of the plaintiff lol
Didn’t the police asked for identification when she was arrested?
And they didn’t take her fingerprints?
It makes it too easy to use somebody else identification.
Very sad for the plaintiff to be in such a position.
Hopefully she will clear her name, but why should it cost her anything?
The defendant takes no responsibility, good that she has to pay $5000 dollars, it will learn her that it is not a joke! What a shame!
A pity the parents were not there to support the plaintiff
think about what you just said for one second. this is a failure on the cops for failing to do their job correctly. lol. not that they know laws lol
Blame the cops not doing their due diligence.
It was a violation for selling tobacco products to minors. She was not put in handcuffs and arrested. She likely had her older sister's "Fake" ID, to buy beer.
People do that all of the time unfortunately. One of the reasons why it wasn't corrected immediately is because of the charges. That jurisdiction only cared about collecting the money for the fines. You wouldn't spend a long time in jail if arrested for such an offense anyway, so they won't spend time trying to figure out if you are who you say you are. Had they ran the defendant's name she probably would have had more problems if she already had warrants or was on probation. So she used her sister's name and information because she knew she didn't have a record.
Absolutely shameful to do something like this to your sister. She should just stay in jail
I get the feeling Vada barely even understood what was going on. The dumbfounded look on her face says to me that she's high and only there because she has to be.
With a sister like that who need enemies
She just ruined her sister's record and reputation. What a despicable thing to do
My loser youngest brother wanted my mom to co-sign for a $15,000 Harley. This was back in 1981. She refused. He found a woman to play the part of my mom. He had snuck her ID and made a xerox copy. They went to the bank. He had moms full name, phone, birthday, soc sec number, the address of the business she owned. The loan was approved. He got the motorcycle. BTW he was 28 years old. He lived with her so he made sure no paperwork came about the loan. He didnt pay a dime. They served papers on my mom warning they were going to take her house. She managed to catch the notice about the foreclosure hearing. She shows up in court. The only thing that saved her is statements from her customers that she was 25 miles away doing hair all day. And the handwriting didnt match. He took the motorcycle and hid it so the repo guy couldnt get it. My dad had just died that June and my brother didnt care that she was going to be homeless and lose a paid for house! Story twist - she never kicked him out. He was never punished. When she died she left him everything. Sick!!!!
Just horrible! Very poised young lady.
Best Plaintiff presentation so far who was well-prepared and did not talk over JJ and with exceptional personality in contrast to her sister.
That plaintiff came prepared! So proud of her! 👏🏻
Crazy that two sisters can be so utterly different!
Glad she’s clean but sad she did that to her sister
Highly unlikely she's clean.
I'm glad the sister is clean now but what she did is terrible.
I can totally relate to this case because a family member of mine used my name twice and thankfully when I went to court they called the officer from both cases to check my physical identity and they both said I wasn’t the one that was at the scene i even brought my punch in slips from my job to prove I was at work at the time of each incident to show the prosecutor
I knew a guy who's brother addicted to crack/heroin did something similar it was a big mess. Messed up his military career and he had wife, kids etc to take care, i think eventually he got everything fixed
Wow. Red-handed. Judge Judy is so disgusted by the selfishness of the defendant that she didn't even give her a glance from that point forward. Just imagine knowing that you did that to your sister and not even being willing to take responsibility after you had supposedly gotten clean! Apparently she thinks hers is the only life that matters.
With a sister like that you don’t need any enemies 😊
The way they would’ve had to pull me off her ass for screwing my life up because she wanted to use my identity. Ohhhh baby!
Can we just say best thing the sister did was NOT take care of that ticket? After causing it. So smart not paying it
Not even an apology even now she is sober. 😢
Apparently drug use doesn't just turn you into another person but it turns you into your own sister 😂
You go girl, completely prepared. Good luck Kayla.
If Vada was my sister?!? We wouldn't be in court because she would know not to pull that sht on me. To do that to your own sister? That's not right in any way.
It’s ridiculous that you can get arrested and claim to be someone else and they put charges on the name you provide without verifying whether that is your real identity. They don’t look alike so a picture ID can quickly prove who she actually is unless she has an ID with her picture but her sister’s name on it.
She had proof from every angle. Outstanding.
What a difference in the two sisters! Raised in the same household with the same parents - one is a student and has her life in order and is making something of herself, the other is a drug addict and felon with a rapsheet only a gangbanger would be proud of.
That recording was the final nail in the coffin for her - thinks she knows the system telling her sister if she pays it it'll go away and also to deny it was her since the paraphernalia was never fingerprinted so they can't prove it was her. How would she know that if it wasn't her?
This was a terrible thing to do to her sister, it is not easy to resolve one's identity being stolen. For her to have it expunged is expensive. What terrible person her sister is.
If the plaintiff didn't have a record prior it falls under first offender and wouldn't need to be expunged. That's why her sister used her name. Not paying the fines is what could cause it to show on her record because it would still be an open case. Very tough spot to be in.
The perfect example of two sisters of whom, (in old fashioned terms,) one is definite good marriage material, and the other is a definite run-for-the-hills type material.
Bad enough she did it, but to deny it in court, thereby adversely affecting her sister's future, is despicable. She is selfishly only interested in avoiding a fifth conviction for doing this.
This plaintiff is great! Best of luck to her hopes she does well!
00:12 She needs to go back to jail for vocal fryyyyyyyy too.
She’s very smart.. Her sister is so wrong for doing her like that!!
She’s been clean and sober for three years. Buuhahahahaha!
Just imagine, this has been happening for 400+ years. I’m afraid it will never end. There’s no way to eradicate a deep rooted belief
I love how prepared the plaintiff is in this case
Young lady, part of being in recovery is owning up to the behavior you did while using. It's great you're 3 years clean. But take ownership of your past.
I never thought about this, but just imagine being part of an identical twin that is a loser that is capable doing something like this. I don't think I could ever trust a person that could steal my ID and pass for it.....
That gurl would make one helluva lawyer.
Just a reminder that drugs turn the best of people into vultures that don’t care who they hurt to get a fix
Of all the people in the world, why use your SISTER'S identity when getting arrested?!
Loved at the end when judge Judy said she was going to help the plaintiff in South Dakota. That was really good.
Something I find so funny is the Bailiff trys to act just as bad azz as Judy does !!!! LMFAO
The most prepared plaintiff ever on judge Judy!!!!
What a rotten sister to ruin her good sisters reputation........
That girl is amazingly prepared and will succeed in whatever profession she chooses
If the defendant is dedicated to cleaning up her life, taking responsibility for the wrongful things she has done is an important step. The fact that she is still unwilling to do that speaks volumes.
Well first of all the sister, if sober, is not working a program for recovery which requires they make amends for the wrongs they've done.
That is screwed up her siblings shouldn’t do that
What a difference in the two sisters! Dang. Btw, part of recovery is owning up to the things you did. I bet the defendant is very jealous and sees her sister as a "goody two shoes". I'm glad the plaintiff had the insight to record her. She made sure to have all of her proof in hand.
I miss the aftermath interviews 😢
With a sister like that who needs enemies smh 🤦🏾♀️
I’m forever thankful that I had extraordinary parents who taught all of us that FAMILY comes first!
Have a happy weekend, y’all!
"When I get my taxes." 🤔
The plaintiff is so respectful ❤
This is so maddening
OMG! How can a sister do that?!?!? So damn sad!!!
JJ was impressed with the blonde sister you can her smiling at the end.
plaintiff had so much evidence byrd got tired of walking back and forth🤣🤣🤣🤣
This was the most slam dunk 100% sure case I have ever seen. This was not just a preponderance of evidence but would've been 100 to 0 if were a jury trial.
And start talking her tax returns! Send that judgment to the IRS
I hope she goes for a law degree
i hope she don't talk to her anymore she needs to block her out of her life
Judge Judy really liked the good sister and believed her because she usually doesn't take letters from third parties (her school counselor). Glad she prevailed!
The letter from the school counselor is different in this situation because it's not a witness statement. It's proof of her attendance.
I would’ve of loved to see the interview after the case to see what the sister has to say now after the judgement.
I don't know if that sister is a rotten person, but sadly I know that drug addiction can turn anyone into a rotten person. Hopefully she can stay clean and sober.
If she was working on her sobriety, she would be making amends with the family members she used and hurt.
@@tonyhoward7004 perhaps she lacks the ability to understand how her actions have hurt people, and what amends need to be made. I agree restitution is an important part of the sober journey, I’m just trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.
