Thanks! I’m editing a video now on schemas which will be similar. You can also watch older videos on different topics because the information doesn’t change very much.

There is a difference between believing in objective truth and that we can come to this objective truth without subjective means. I believe truth is truth. I can have my own beliefs but there is really one truth for the same fact or belief. People can have different opinions but then there would be one truth for each opinion. This is an ontology of truth.
But that does not mean that we come to know truth in an objective way. I come to learning and gaining truth through subject means. I do it with different presuppositions, past history, etc. So what I come to believe is different than someone else. this is an epistemological claim.
Thus, I can claim there is one truth out there that does not change because I see the truth one way and someone else sees it differently. But I can still count for the fact we come to learn things differently. Also, I do not have to say that students have to believe my version of the truth exactly. Learning can still be a group affair in which teacher and students both come to it together. I guess I would be a constructivist epistemologically concerned. But I do not think reality itself is constructed.

I really love pondering these types of questions. I like the idea that there is one truth perceived through many different filters as I think you were mentioning. I also like the idea that truth has many layers to it. For example, on one level it’s true that a stop sign is red. On a different level, it’s also true that a stop sign is every color except red. Similarly, someone could say our bodies are solid and I could accept that as true. Someone else could say are bodies are mostly liquid, and I’d also see how that’s true. Then a third person could say our bodies are mostly empty space, and that would be true as well because at the atomic level we’re mostly space.

What is truth for you ,is not truth for me and vice versa. There is only perception. Nature is neutral like i am 😊

Do we construct our educational philosophies or are we reconstructed by the teacher

Hi Janice, how can I nurture my son''s brain to be more good in Mathematics? He's 18 y/o now.

Great question! Mental math is very important to building number sense and understanding the patterns and logic of numbers. I talk about that in this video. th-cam.com/video/6-ENxpAyg30/w-d-xo.html. Also having the right mindset when it comes to math is also important, which I discuss in this video th-cam.com/video/3OdvMpegt7Q/w-d-xo.html.
      Hope that helps!
