  • I QUIT ON TISSUE CULTURES
    I don't think I've ever had such a hard time working with tissue cultures before. My first batch was a success however, when working with Monstera Thai Constellation they are so temperamental its unreal!
    I am on the verge of quitting tissue cultures since I am incredibly discouraged but I figured I should show y'all the reality is being a plant parent and trying something new. I am going to try to a different media to see if it will make a difference.
    Fingers crossed! Wish me luck and thank you so much for tuning in and supporting me!

    I appreciate you posting this video. I watched your “how to” when you first got them. I bought one as well, followed your instructions and my thai developed roots after several weeks and I just moved to soil. Because you were willing to share this rot experience maybe now I can save mine before it’s too late! So THANK you!!

    I usually don’t put them in soil right out of the flask. I put them in sphagnum moss of fluval stratum and it seems to work a lot better. I have a higher fail rate when I go straight to soil

      The lady I bought it from said put it in sphagnum moss first . Keep it sealed with 99% humidity

    I ordered a Thai tc in etsy i Placed it in a shot glass size plastic cup frm the dollar store. I made some small holes in the bottom of the cup.added pon and placed a second cup underneath as a reservoir. Covered the whole thing with a dome. After a month I got a new leaf.

    My thai tissue is coming on September. Glad to know about the stratum and hope everything works out great for yours!

    I have also killed a TC after doing what I was told to do. I unfortunately killed two albo nodes too. I feel like a monstera failure, but the regular non variegated monstera I have has been thriving! I wish they were all that easy. :(

    Fluval stratum works wonders in rooting plants. Just don't over water them. Good luck.

    Awww. Its tough. Just keep trying. I am slowly weeding out the plants that I cant keep alive. If I can propagate mine, i'll give you 1. Cheaper to ship from the US

    Thai constellation love to go bone dry before their next waterings. I purchased mine as a TC and it has grown so much in the year I've owned it. Have you tried Coco Coir and Perlite mixture? I'm so sorry they didn't work out for you.

    My first Thai constellation died because I put it in a huge bowl with moss alone.
    I then got 2 replacements for $20 each I bought at this show in Florida. I have placed it with my Philodendron ring of fires in a community bowl with a shallow layer of sphagnum moss. They seem to be doing fine for the past month. They did however start to rot when I first put them in the bowl. I took the rot off and placed them back the bowl. Hopefully they thrive .

    They are so tough 😢 I have lost 1 and water propped a cutting of my fist one and it went super well! Don’t leave it in water for longer than 3 weeks or so though or they’ll rot.. good luck!

    My Thai constellation has been in coco coir/ perlite with 90% humidity and the leaves are turning brown so I’m about to redo it and put it in stratum and leca. Wish me luck! I appreciate your videos a bunch. Thanks!

    Thank you for sharing. I actually just received a tc Thai yesterday. I am sweating it now. There was some black on the base and I tried scraping off, but when do you stop? 😳 anyway, deep breathing all around. Your other little plants are adorable!

    good luck! if they water root, have you considered moving them to perlite in a clear cup?

  • @manuelita467
    @manuelita467 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Stratum. Only roots not much of the stem or rot.
    I did spag and perlite. And patience ..and 90% humidity for the first 7 days or until a new leaf is out. And then start acclimating them. Little by little. And you don't put in dirt for like 4 months

    Hi…I’m not an expert and I just got a tissue culture ring of fire yesterday and still haven’t opened the sealed cup right now. I just want to ask if you washed off the jelly really well? And did you use betadine to soak them in?I’m just worried because their environment is so sterile and then I don’t know if I need to super sterilize everything that I need to use and use sterile thongs and medium before replanting them just to make sure they don’t get molds…thanks

    I’m so impressed with Stratum Why not try and keep it in Stratum?

    • @leafletco
      @leafletco  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can get very expensive especially if the plant gets very large. But I will say I’ve left my big Thai constellation in some stratum and it loves it!

    Why do plants survive in a vase of water but get root rot in soil?

    We ordered some from thailand and pretty much the same thing,even after months of being stable and showing growth they somehow rot out of nowhere! Im not surprised of this vids outcome 🥲
