What a sound when #58's in full cry! You'd think it was something far bigger on the main line at far higher speed. The pleasures of narrow gauge railroading. Well Done.
As they say, blood sweat and tears but the results are worth it. Congratulations to all who have brought this back to life and I believe it is the beginning of bigger and even better things to come.
I can see youse are aiming high with this enterprise & i wish you well - 1st time i happened across your content I had to go look up J&L's history, and found an incredible story (with a cast of thousands!) that really needs telling. great work people, hope to come over the pond one day & see for myself. cheers 👍🇬🇧
Thanks for the comment, Rick Rowlands is the man responsible for everything you saw in the video. He has a channel called the J&L narrow gauge railroad, so if you want to learn more about the railroad, check out his channel. I hope to see you out there some day!
That's awesome. I got to hang out with Chris for 2 weeks out in Colorado at the Cumbres and Toltec and the Durango and Silverton. He's a great guy. Hope to work with him again someday.
Certainly no 611 but the size that got the work done in numerous shops. The "load test" broadside run by was great with the Brookville caboose honorary DPU
Rick’s the one who got her running, I’ve only been able to go out recently because I got my license. I’m already planning on going out a few times a month this summer

He was a really cool guy to meet, I hope he comes back someday
Such a proper railroad! SO excellent. Many thanks for this great video!
Wow that thing is super cool! I’d love to go see this in person!
It is a really cool engine, sounds a lot better in person when going up the hill!
Magnificent feats of engineering, a testament to human invention and ingenuity.

The load test was really cool to see. It was also awesome to hear the 58 work hard up the hill with a heavy train
@@natestrains1803 these porters are loud little engines
@@EvilTurkeySlices they sure are
I love how you can hear the engine (saddle tank?) vidrate as air rushes through the firebox. Really sounds like the engine is alive. :)
you got the beast running. Great tenacity and skill people.
