    I have a fair amount of grapes growing in my yard and I have the traditional wine-making equipment too left over from my parents, but I never really bothered to try and make wine until this year, trying to make some white wine. I'm afraid that the must might have been a little too weak but I'm approaching the final racking, the wine has a beautiful color so I am hopeful. I am currently waiting for my bentonite to arrive, I found your videos really helpful, it makes winemaking look so much simpler and straightforward than the old winemakers' handbooks I've been reading!

    Blueberry has been the favorite among my friends until I bought some Pomeganate-Plum juice at Aldies,now they all want this,and I agree it is really good.

    I just bottled my first batch of pineapple. I did some quality control last night. 🤪 I’m taking some pineapple, and some blueberry mead to a Christmas party tonight. Thanks for all your help.
    I also just started some strawberry banana on the 2nd.

    Would it be wrong to add the bentonite during the secondary?

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Yes you can do that... but also will want to do before
      Bottling that is when it is most important.

    Did you quit stirring the wine after 4 or 5 days and then let it sit and finish fermenting before you transfer to the carboy? Thank you!

    • @HowToDoneRight

      That is correct. I usually will stop stirring once foaming slows down and bubbler slows down usually between 4 and 7 days depends on the wine.

    Would it be a good idea to add some sort of herb to the simple syrup when back sweetening? For instance I’m thinking of making a lavender simple syrup to pair with a citrusy wine.

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Yes you can... just herb may make it cloudy. Extract may be better.

    Hello! love your content and I am a subscriber. A question I am wondering about. why cant you back sweeten during racking to fill the carboy to the top and eliminate air space.
    thankyou!

    • @HowToDoneRight

      That's going to add sugar and fermentation will start up again. You don't want to start that back up.

    I really enjoy your videos and I have learned so much from you. Do you ever cold stabilize your wines?

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Thanks for watching... cold Stabilize is too much work and need alot of space in fridge or freezer. But surely can be done.

    Is the Star San Sanitizer totally safe to mix with the wine? I see bubbles that look like soap in the wine from the equipment.

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Yes it is completely safe in its diluted form and must be used as a wet sanitizer.

    *Update* : My Mango wine finally cleared, the fermentation on bentonite wasn't the issue. The mango just takes longer even with the kill us all and cheeto sand. Although I loved your video, mango is simply a pain and my friends/family didn't really enjoy it as much.......so, no more mango wine for us. They are all asking me to make cherry wine now. Have you made cherry wine?

    • @HowToDoneRight

      No i have not made cherry wine but alot have in this channel and love it. I don't have great access to cherries... you also must try pineapple and banana our favorites. 👍👍🍒🍒🍒

      Pineapple so far have been my family/friend's favorite! I have actually been using frozen fruits instead of fresh.......it's just more convenient. Thanks for all the help!

    I have some new air locks & they keep popping out. Is there a fix for this problem?

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Some times they do... my best solution is to dry the bunge and inside neck of carboy and kind of twist in with tight seal.

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Depends if you Have little airspace in your bucket. It may taste like vinegar.. if was in carboy that will be just fine. 👍👍

    Ughhh….. I use Tito‘s vodka in my airlocks, and when I went to stir my bentonite this morning, I pushed on the airlock and a little bit of that vodka dripped into my carboy😩 Is that bad?

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Heck noooo.. vodka can be used to fortify a wine strong alcohol like vodka will not hurt a thing.

    Me again.. lol… I see you added the Bentonite after the first racking into the carboys. I’m a little confused as to “how many times” you rack your wine from carboy to carboy, and at which time do you add the Bentonite. Sorry to be your biggest pest!!

    • @HowToDoneRight

      Each wine will be different. Generally 2 to 3 rackings total. Last racking is for bentonite. Keep watching all my wine videos as I show you Each time. Good luck. 😀😀

    Are you still using the other brand of refining agent? Or only for 30’day refining ?

      Also do you add another round of Camden tablets prior to bottling

      My preferred refining is bentonite. If in a hurry i will use liquor qwik... and sometimes both for a stubborn wine

    Thank you. I now know I am never going to go through all this tremendous trouble to MAYBE get a drinkable wine. I'll just let the grapes on my vine (ten gallons of them) rot.

      If I can do it I'm sure you can do it. I was blessed with some grapes from my nephews vine. I followed this channel for grape wine, it's actually enjoyable to do. It turned out beautiful
