I personally think Iron Flame wasn’t as good because the book was rushed. I think the publisher pushed the date forward and therefore it didn’t get the time it needed. Of course I don’t know that for sure but it came out so quickly after Fourth Wing that that’s the only possible reason I could think of for the rush. Companies like money and they don’t care about the finer points as long as they get it. Hopefully Onyx Storm will be better, although I still enjoyed Iron Flame it just wasn’t as good as Fourth Wing.
Gild was not a good book but it does get better. My daughter told me to read the second book and I reluctantly did but found out that I really enjoyed it. I would suggest reading the second book and see how you feel then, it might surprise you😀
