Anyone willing to abide by the honor code is welcome at BYU. We are grateful to have Jake leading the squad, and the University and its alumni are with him all the way.

Just abiding by the honor code doesn't make you liked and respected 😎

I’m no longer a member of the Mormon church but I ride with the cougs all day and I love Jake 💪🏽💪🏽 awesome stuff here

Same here. Mormonism is verifiably false, and I have a lot of issues with the heavily curated teachings and blatant lies told about the history and even the way the corporation functions today. Actually there’s a whole laundry list of issues with the church.
But it’s still my heritage both for decades of my life and for my family. I love the nostalgia of camping out for BYU basketball games and cheering for the football team. There’s also something beautiful about people coming together for a common goal and finding success in it. I relate to many of the non-members who came for the Football or Basketball programs over the years like Steve Sarkisian or Jake Retzlaff because it’s the relationships and growth that matters.
I’m a BYU sports fan for life. Go Cougs!

@alextemus The LDS Church is and Always will be Thee Only True Church upon the face of the Earth. Period. After having been in and stepping out, is not something that I'd want to stand before the Lord with come Judgement Day.

It’s all good man. Whenever you actually become interested (whether you see how badly it hurts you or someone you love, or you get offended by how many lies you’ve been fed, or you’re blown away by how fiercely the church defends those who hurt the most vulnerable.
Whenever that eventually happens and you’re open to just hearing the truth, you’ll look for it, see the evidence put together by people in a similar boat, and verified by the church itself, and you’ll find more peace.
There’s nothing I can do to convince you if you’re not willing to accept whatever the outcome is. I know I wouldn’t hear it back when I needed to hold on to the idea that I already knew who was “right”.

As a BYU grad in 1994 my favorite professor there was Jewish. Shout out to Dr. Kenzer.

I wonder if Jake is familiar with Philadelphia Eagles great, Pete Ratzlaff from North Dakota (played for the SD State Jackrabbits). But Pete's family were Lutheran, not Jewish or Mormon. You didn't mention BYU QB Jim McMahon who, as I recall was a Catholic attending BYU. I'm sure there are other non-LDS players on the team. Thanks for this interesting interview and kudos to Jake and the cougars for their success so far!

So the question is what conference will lose a bid to make room for the Big XII getting an unexpected second playoff berth.

As a Jew and a fan of the show for many years, it was nice seeing the elephant in the room with regards to Judaism in 2024, that being October 7th and the war (and the overlaying topic in general) being acknowledged by rich and by Jake. Too often you’ll see Jews in western media ignore that elephant and pretend it doesn’t exist because they’re afraid of what others might have to say about it. Or worse, they try to separate Judaism and what’s going on as if they don’t have anything to do with each other. Rich is a good ambassador.
