Totally agree and I plan on expanding past Classic. There is such an overwhelming amount of Warcraft lore that I've kind of just focused on Classic for now. But don't you worry, videos in a similar vein to the Orc Clan video are on the horizon.
I actually do read my quests, and leveling in kalimdor would have to be one of my favourite and diverse leveling experiences in video games ever. So much layered lore, and quests grand and small.
The truth is Norzdormu actually only gave the night elves immortality because he knew that in the future they would need a man who was as much of a badass as Malfurion was and he wasn't certain the night elves would get that lucky twice so he needed to keep Malfurion alive long enough to do all the awesome things he needed to.
But what if its about some epic sentient rats that secretly try to spread the curse of undeath because they worship the rat lichking that rules over the secret continent of southrend?
Platinum you should make a video on why Malfurion is such an asshole. LIke. Disowned his brother and had him imprisoned for - Saving Felwood (Oh but he used fel magic >:CCCC I disown you!!!) - Giving the Night Elves immortality (We dont need another well of eternity!!!!! Imprisoned for life!!) - Marrying the girl Illidan had a crush on - Illidan saved the universe while Malfurion was asleep and he still found a way to be mad at him. Malfurion is an asshole
And don’t forget the fact that when Tyrande was left to die by Maiev, Illidan, despite taking heavy losses by Maiev and Malfurion’s troops and Kael’thas’ elves, he still mustered enough forces to lead an assault on Scourge settlements to save her, and all he got was a “hmph, I still don’t trust you, but you can go for now.”
While Illidan is no slouch when it comes in being an asshole either (Siding with the Highborne to gain access to The Well's magic, Holding Akama's soul hostage as leverage, Opening a portal to Argus so that the forces of Azeroth would stop fucking around and get done with it, Killing a prime Naaru in cold blood (and to be fair, that thing had it coming for having no concept of consent)) , finally someone said it. At least Illidan admits he's done wrong on his path to defeat The Legion as he does not ask for forgiveness from neither Tyrande nor his brother in his farewell message. But to give Malfurion a little credit, he's less harsh on his final response than Tyrande was.

As far as i remember when the satyrs took Tyrande the book described him as mad not sad and he lost control of his powers and caused a big storm/vortex that pretty much surprised Archimonde and Mannoroth because they were getting sucked with the low level demons too.But that was from War of the Ancients part Three.Stormrage might have retconned that part.

I dont remember if Archimonde or Mannoroth were surprised at the storms power since Archimonde had an idea of how powerful Malfurion was at that point.

Funny thing about the herbs Staghelm was using:we players were helping him doing that, there was a repeatable quest to gain Darnassus rep where we were to gather those herbs and either deliver them to him or to another druid in Feralas. So those that were delivering to Staghelm, congratulations, you were aiding a traitor :D

Okay okay okay but can we talk about Fandral for a sec Fandral genuinely though what he was doing was best for the night elves. I really he was a grieving father his deceased son, Valstann. Fandral’s mate died giving birth to him and so Valstann was literally everything that Fandral had, and Fandral loved Valstann. And when Xavius came to Fandral in the body of Valstann. Fandral, of course, was overjoyed. Xavius, in Valstann’s body, started to manipulate and corrupt Fandral, playing on Fandral’s guilt and rage of not being able to save his son, driving Fandral into a madness, doing anything Xavius, who he thought was Valstann, wanted him to in hopes it would fully extort his son to life. This included grafting a corrupted branch from Xavius into the world tree. Eventually, after Malfurion woke up and defeated Xavius, Fandral was left to endure the loss of his son for a second time. This left him as nothing but a broken husk, and the Night Elves locked Fandral away in Illidan’s old prison in hopes that he’d one day recover, because locking someone in a cell is definitely going to help then with the grieving process. Fandral wasn’t a villain, he was a victim, a pawn with a sad as fuck backstory and people don’t appreciate him enough
