Good overview, enjoy this plugin a lot. At 23:30 when you say the quad count is too low, couldn't you just turn on adaptive quad count to get more polys around the holes?
Which version of Max is needed for Quad Remesher to work? I only have Max 2012. Edit: On the Quad Remesher web page, it says it works on Max versions from 2016 up to current (2024).
Like i said in the video, it's more or less a version of ZRemesher from ZBrush, it was never meant to be a final result tool but rather a helper for rapid testing. Next few upcoming videos i'll show off a few situations where it can be amazingly useful and time saving.
It all depends on what you are trying to do, if you want to add more details then you want to have more polygons. The thing here is that you can do some rapid prototyping like what you can do with ZBrush, where you basically stress the model until it starts breaking and then you do a ZRemesh and are back with proper geometry.

Well if you spend a bit more time you can make it straight, all you have to do is pop the face constraints and then hit the make planar, or even use the straighten option.
okay have never seen this plug-in before , and I appreciate the video but you do the same thing that a lot of people do when they make these videos, you assume the user knows everything and you leave out a lot of set up details, what versions does it work with? how did you install the plug-in? How did you install the script menu? How did you install the selection button? the devil is in the details. Other than that great video

A combination of a Subdivide and native Retopology does a great job. So if you get this it will only be as an alternative option.

thank you, but sometimes for me the shape will be difficult to control after, I use ffd modifier as a solution
I think that's has no use with current 3DS Max version.

I have no interest in paid plugins. The retopology modifier built in works just fine and it comes at no extra cost.
