Since video made the engine was stripped down to reveal worn crankshaft bearing drive side which wore out the conrod shells on crankshaft journals. New bearings and shells and chrankshaft joumals reground. Head valves, seats and guides adjusted to suit fit. Rocker arm push rod clearances set spec. Carbs sonic cleaned tuned balanced. Contact point breakers set with timing spot on, one kick start every time. Big shout out thanks to Norton racing tuner and engineer Roger McHardy, see barrel honing short video. Thanks for all your comments welcomed and critiques appreciated to keep Atlas running rideable, a real treat as well as tinkering... 🏍😎
Late Atlas tanks were monotone colour black or red with side badges. My first Norton was an early featherbed with the bottom stripe under tank badge matching the fenders colour, which was cream/dove grey. My Atlas has chrome fenders hence the matching chrome foil added under the badge to replicate the old school featherbed tank look, with the deeper headlamp bucket and insert speedo, side bracket tach. Later Atlas have the two instruments on the dual bracket and shallow head lamp bracket as standard.
Thankyou for commenting I am surprised to see over 4k views already... "cold start" ha ha... I have rebuilt the bottom end this winter with reground crank and new shells and bearings. New start up video coming in the spring. Thanks for watching.
The clacking turned out to be the conrod journals and crankshaft bearings needed replacing. Engine rebuilt over last winter since video, sounds and runs a lot smoother. Will post a new video soon. Thanks for comment, safe rides

Cheers, I am expat Aussie living in Canada. The Atlas tank should have a crossed GB & GP checkered flag and Atlas (word font). Bit hard to see on black, hence the white outline. This was my spin on Norton being world champions.

This is reply to Mollink email from Netherland... Mijn Norton is oorspronkelijk geïmporteerd in PEI Canada (provincie Prince Edward Island).

Two tone tanks on Norton's made them very attractive.

Great bike
I recognise that hi pitched tapping... if the valve clearances are right, then it's a cracked piston.

Atlas looked like a big ol loaf of bread compared to the n-15 cs modle!
Thought the accent was unusual for Canada
