    Ah..I could be wrong, but Kory was talking about the DPF back exhaust system. The Global-B architecture has tightened the tolerances on the 2024 Duramax trucks. A simple passive upgrade, such as the DPF back exhaust, which would generally reduce back pressure by 80-85%, doesn't work because it is so efficient that the ECM goes into full potato mode and thinks that the DPF is clogged. The truck starts throwing a code and goes into limp mode...just a guess.

    I've been around diesels nearly all of my life. With the exception of a few years as a deputy sheriff (prior to my enlistment in the Army Reserve), I've either worked on or driven diesels since I was a teenager. I was an Army Truck Driver (88M 2009-2021) and have been a commercial driver since 2015.
    I'm really hoping that in 2024, at the age of 52, I finally get to purchase my first diesel pickup. The Diesel Podcast has really gotten me back up to speed with everything that I missed out on. IF that ever happens, I hope to share my story.
    Thanks for all you guys put out there, and Patrick, you're a great Podcaster- Robert from east of Pensacola, Florida.

      Are you pro deleting or anti deleting ?

    • @RobertHolster1
      @RobertHolster1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @4wdaddict41 I don't care either way, i would be lying if I said I wouldn't want to delete it. But then, where can you find good delete tunes these days that doesn't kill your engine worse than leaving them intact. Having said that, the sounds, the smells and performance of a deleted truck though...love it!
      Honestly, where I live, it is hard to find good mechanical support for deleted trucks. Hardway Performance, Ryan Milliken's shop, is about 30 miles from here and we have mutual friends. He doesn't even want those trucks in his parking lot. Also, 99% of the dealerships in my area won't even take deleted trucks in trade because they can't even sell them wholesale if deleted, per state statute
      So the short answer is, I like a fast, deleted truck but would settle for clean and quiet. I've driven every generation of Cummins (5.9s and 6.7 in a Freightliner) and Powerstrokes plus the 6.9 and 7.3 IDIs (as well as the Detroit IDIs in HUMVEEs). The only one I haven't driven is a Duramax powered truck. Almost bought one in 2018 but wound up with a gasser.

    I am glad I watched this, because his explanation of when torque converter locks up and acceleration rate change.... causing it to fall on its face during shift change is exactly what's going on with my TCM tunning, I just didn't know how to explain it to my tuner guy.....this will help , thank you.

    That 140 foot pounds of torque with just the transmission tune will make the truck more efficient. It will have a better performance and less emissions. Why can’t we get those boneheads the curb people to understand not all of you guys are bad people you’re a very good man, sir you’re doing a lot for the industry and things like that I want to rebuild my 5.9 in my 91.5 dodge with speed of air pistons you know a nice camshaft may be a stage two from Hamilton Cams. I already have a stage to Hamilton Cham head wanna do a little bit of bow work and things like that so it flows a little better stage two injectors from dynamite diesel, there anyway are all I also want to put a better turbo on of course I have a HX 35 turbo now all right keep doing what you’re doing sir this is six in a row Jim from Kennerdell, Pennsylvania

    We will see what this industry is made of 💪 .... Whenever we Disappear the industry Disappears ;) but some of us will fight so so hard in order to keep these trucks on the Road . And to Survive.

      @@williammorgan5987 no, it's been a situation where nobody has cracked the TCM. Because the transmission is made by the third-party supplier Aisin Seiki, it has its own separate control module

    it'd be cool of an exhaust dump could be incorporated, so that the truck could be used in an off road situation like a drag strip. as well as ignore the "fact checkers' and add more fuel. then when you leave the strip, change back to road legal tune, dump closes and after treatment wouldn't need regen. and of course people would abuse it.

    • @williammorgan5987
      @williammorgan5987 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Nobody would abuse that ever not even once and I think it should be invented

    • @midwestrustwarrior
      @midwestrustwarrior 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just sit back and think how stupid that sounds as a rule..... You can drive your truck with no emissions here but you need emissions once you touch the road... That's been my argument this whole time at least

    • @timothyberlinski2299
      @timothyberlinski2299 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great idea but some ECU's dont support multiple tunes. Ypu would need to use a stock tune and then a switchable in the fly emissions delete tune

      To your 68 RFE run a very good quality transmission fluid for one and also a good shift kit. Transco makes a real nice kit for transmissions. I recommend a tow and go kit. It’s a six in a row.Jim from Kennerdell, Pennsylvania
