    Love the 7.3 content whenever it comes out. As an owner of a 97CCLB4x4 im always excited when there is new and innovative tech and parts for these trucks. Hope the Summit goes well and would be very interested in attending as an enthusiast in the future. Most of all I am glad i bought mine before the prices skyrocketed! lol

    97 cclb 7.3 owner here, and living in California. I asked a diesel truck shop if they could dyno my truck to see what numbers my rig is putting out, and they said that legally they cannot even pull my truck into their shop. Crazy out here!

    Man I cut my teeth on 6.9/7.3 idis...then when I drove a 7.3 Powerstroke in a 1997, I was giggity...speaking of giggity, Vinny's new truck making me giggity. Truth it is very motivating. My first diesel will most likely be a 7.3 and I will definitely getting some cool Hydra gear to boot!
    Btw get a very cool Hydra hat from Power Hungry Performance!

Thank you so much for your time and effort and continuing to listen to your listeners. Top 5 podcast for sure 🙏

    Vinny, thanks for taking the time to talk transmissions with me a few months ago. I rebuilt my 4R with a couple billet goodies and a Goerend instead of Ally swapping. No GV yet.
    You mentioned compounds on a 7.3, with a gate, any experience? Sizing of those turbos? I have my 238/100s about to go in. Probably stay single on the daily, but you never know...
    I want Minotaur!
    I'm a little surprised Bill said '99 - 01 for forged rods. Most '01s are powdered like the '02-'03. Right Bill? Luckily there's an inspection plug by the filter.
    Vin, you doing a full build on the forums? True twin turbos, like one on each bank? Compounds?

    So one thing with transmissions that’s been interesting to me that not a lot of people talk about it is a 6 speed allison swap.
    My main thought is mpg on the highway, my rpm sits just below 2k rpm at 70, anything to get that same rpm but maybe going 75-80?
    Just some thoughts, I understand the 4R100 is strong and can be built affordably. But what about gearing?

    Damm compounds on a 7.3 still think you buy. 7.3 for reliable no matter what it going to start. I can see going to 500 easily. And stay reliable at 500. For a 14:37 driver 14:33

    People, understand that at 500HP, a 7.3 is no longer a “million mile motor“. Let’s be realistic. That’s a lot of power for this engine. Most 7.3 don’t make it to 1M miles in stock form. To get the most reliability, you need to build the engine from ground up. But how many companies are selling 500 hp-rated long blocks? That says something.

    • @Jim_Lawrence
      @Jim_Lawrence หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'll agree not 1M at 500+, but what do you think a ground up build would do to get you there? I think maintenance has more to do with it than a full build. Just like heavy fueling and washing cylinders means you need to change the oil more often. Just like a 500hp build doesn't mean you are using it, maybe you cross the country empty on cruise at 60 mph. It'll do 1M that way...

    • @dannysavagedraftguru
