🚂 The UK boasts many fine heritage railways - many if not all providing a wonderful day out. But where you should you go?! Well hopefully this video will give you some inspiration, not just for railway trips but for activities to do in around the various locations, as we take a look at 10 Heritage Railway Trips you can't ignore!

Visited the Battlefield line and had a great time. ELR is my local line.
My local heritage railway is the ecclsbourne valley railway, they got good rolling stock including my favourite heritage DMU, the 121

Great video, really enjoyed it. I will most definatly be making a trip to the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway soon, as it is an amazing railway. I think an other episode of this is in order where you could possibly focus on the small heritage lines perhaps? Anyway, good video and i will tune in for more. All the best
Thanks very much Transport Gamer! That’s a great idea for a follow up - lots of smaller heritage lines are well worth a visit in their own right. Ffestiniog when I was 9, it's a nice narrow gauge railway
Nice. I’d actually planned to go last year and do all three of the Welsh lines featured, but of course the pandemic soon changed that. Still hopeful of a trip there in the summer or maybe spring 2022!

Nymr is my local line and the first steam railway I visited back in 1998 at age 2

@@D.Salter That’s not a bad start off of one video, your spelling/grammar is very good and I think if you keep active in the community then you can keep growing as you start putting more content out! Tip from me that helped early on - when commenting on videos, comment on something specific, I.e their camerawork, a particular train/item that featured, etc. Sometimes people say ‘great video’ and they may not have watched it - but by mentioning something specific, even if it’s the number of subs as you’ve mentioned here, show’s you’re keen and at tentative and creators like that 👍 Also if someone doesn’t sub back straight away, don’t be disheartened - keep watching (and learning!) about their stuff and build the relationship over time. Never take a single subscription for granted. I’ve subbed to help you on your journey - stick with it and go well!!

The wired thing about West Somerset Railway is very close to the mainline at Norten Fizzwarren (I do not know to spell it) and the Dartmouth steam railway is a great line sane with the Severn Vally Railway the mainline connect at Goodrington Sands on the Dartmouth steam railway

Had a few trips on steam on the past. Now retired and can afford more outings. But didabled now and uou do not cater for people me, so i cant go out on the steam. Catch 22. Jeff mccann
Hope you’re well Jeff 👍 I don’t know about the narrow gauge lines but I think most of the standard gauge lines have more disability provisions now - The North Norfolk Railway for instance just recently got provided with some new ramps for customers and I think other railways have had similar upgrades - best bet is to get in touch with them beforehand to double check, I’m sure if they know you are coming they will do all they can to make it work for you and to make you feel welcome sir 🙏
but ecclsbourne is also my local so im quite lucky

my local railway is peak rail awful railway though ran by an old lady that doesnt do anything with it only has saddle tanks as steam locos

What about the strathspey railway in Scotland?
Would definitely make a top 20…maybe even a top 11. Visited one of the stations very briefly during my holiday there in 2019. One to go back to for sure.

Many have said they should be number one! Tough to rank. But they are all great.

The absence of the East Lancs and Watercress lines is unfortunate and flawed the video as a whole.
Stupid totally un necessary lock downs! May they NEVER happen again!!!!
