My beloved niece was in a terrible accident and was given morphine on demand in the hospital for pain and broken bones. She recovered and came home a month later. BUT the sedation for pain....her brain had been habituated to drugs. And when she tried heroin for the first time it took her like 24 hours to become a full blown addict. She was 'primed' medically by well meaning people...She is many years clean and sober today but what an uphill battle it was...People who have never experienced addiction and turning life around can never understand on any level what a Hell on earth drug use can be...God bless anybody who wrestles these demons - and wants to get well and come back to life, drug free, sober and healthy...

I spent 27 years as a hard core crack addict .... now 20 years 100% drug free ... 100% recovered .... in the last 20 years I got everything in my 😊personal life sorted ,.. got healthy ... have 2 new vehicles ... a hefty RRSP ... a house with no mortgage ... a savings account ... and even manage to give my church $120 a week every week all year for the last decade ... I'm working on the rigs driving water truck and it pays great ... my new motto is "WORK CHURCH AND HOME " Sobriety thru Christ is possible ... im living proof it can happen

I am from South Africa and after watching many hours of this, I do have questions? These poor people are buying and using drugs every day, with an ever Police presence...How is it possible to have a constant supply of drugs where there are supposed to be laws against it. There must be an illegal source where all this comes from?? I am not criticizing but attempting to approach this with the utmost respect and consideration. I've been having a journey of recovery with a Canadian who was trapped in all bad addictions and went to live in the streets until recently when God started to help him out. It has been a journey of three years now still recovering and I thank God he has been freed from hard drugs, marijuana and now he's working on quiting smoking cigarettes. I've done a lot of prayers for him as God brought him to me in a dream and I'm so happy that he has recovered and living a normal life in a house, not in the streets. I'm praying for his health issues and God showed me He will heal him. He has already started to preach the gospel in a small way as he has a calling. God will use him to change lives.

Feel sorry for cops tasked with ‘moving’ individuals along. Due to nature of issue, they aren’t able to move themselves or listen to anything. try a street sweeper truck that blasts water onto the filthy sidewalks first. These ‘people’ have no respect whatsoever for themselves or the community surrounding them. Drastic issues require drastic measures. This can’t continue; it’s been the situation for years and only worsening. How are the locals putting up with it and how are shops surviving surrounded by detritus?
I can't even imagine trying to help all these people. It's extremely sad. For the kids out there, if you never take a drug and if you never have a drink of alcohol this will not be your future. The majority made this as their choice. Not a good choice.

What you are seeing happening to the people are the result of the American Leaders, Law Officials and Politicians over the years. They need not to just clean the place up but still be more respectable to the citizens there. Sure they may have made some bad decisions and choices in life but you never know why they've made those choices because every thing in this society has a cause and effect. That's why predominately the rich get's richer and the poor get's much more poorer which raises crime rate statistics especially in much more impoverished neighborhoods because all that chaos and not receiving the American Dream is very damaging to the mind in most cases. Imagine being stressed day in and day out and seeing no other way out of it some people may turn to alcohol , lust, greed or even much more harsher drugs not because they really wanted to but because they feel as though the system as felled them. Why else would most of these things be happening in much more impoverished communities if that wasn't true. If they are to clean up place these people in a group home that's almost like a homeless shelter and give them guidance by life couches, counselors and mentors, help them get free jobs, help them get back healthy again on their feet, have a doctor present in each one of the group homes, treat them as you would the immigrants with tax dollars. Locking them up would only make situations worst for those people. This isn't happening to immigrants because all is given unto them.

It is amazing how much damage the people in power let happen all to then say they wish to clean it up. They chased them away from Frankford and Lehigh all for the new apartments being built. Then the places buying up houses flipping them with up-marks, so much that the former tenets paid 500-800 not is set to the price point of 1200-2000 a month. Going up Tulip st the same thing and off of Aramingo Ave they are also building new homes as well, doing the same. All this gentrification, I understand the feeling of just not trying to try again when al of these factors are being used to keep you down. The clean up orders are solving the visible problem not the source of the problem. They chase them away and then they come back days later, as they are not holding them for long.

Being a female my first question is how do these women deal with their monthly visits! I retired from the UN two years ago and looking at this situation reminds me of some of the third world countries I worked in throughout the years. This is horrendous.

I am from South Africa and after watching many hours of this, I do have questions? These poor people are buying and using drugs every day, with an ever Police presence...How is it possible to have a constant supply of drugs where there are supposed to be laws against it. There must be an illegal source where all this comes from?? I am not criticizing but attempting to approach this with the utmost respect and consideration. I've never been in contact with people in this situation personally and I am shocked at what I saw.

I have been praying for the lost souls in this territory, and will continue to do so because God will not give up on them. These people are his creation who lost their way. The devil took advantage of them in their sin as he always does when we sin. Yes, everyone .Yet, God is still working on them. Remember this when times get worse for you. I've been having a journey of recovery with a Canadian who was trapped in all bad addictions and went to live in the streets until recently when God started to help him out. It has been a journey of three years now still recovering and I thank God he has been freed from hard drugs, marijuana and now he's working on quiting smoking cigarettes. I've done a lot of prayers for him as God brought him to me in a dream and I'm so happy that he has recovered and living a normal life in a house, not in the streets. I'm praying for his health issues and God showed me He will heal him. He has already started to preach the gospel in a small way as he has a calling. God will use him to change lives.

Feel sorry for cops tasked with ‘moving’ individuals along. Due to nature of issue, they aren’t able to move themselves or listen to anything. try a street sweeper truck that blasts water onto the filthy sidewalks first. These ‘people’ have no respect whatsoever for themselves or the community surrounding them. Drastic issues require drastic measures. This can’t continue; it’s been the situation for years and only worsening. How are the locals putting up with it and how are shops surviving surrounded by detritus?

That has to be a very stressful job as an officer, I'm sure they didn't expect to have to revive addicts all day. Government needs to have other trained professionals helping .

What you are seeing happening to the people are the result of the American Leaders, Law Officials and Politicians over the years. They need not to just clean the place up but still be more respectable to the citizens there. Sure they may have made some bad decisions and choices in life but you never know why they've made those choices because every thing in this society has a cause and effect. That's why predominately the rich get's richer and the poor get's much more poorer which raises crime rate statistics especially in much more impoverished neighborhoods because all that chaos and not receiving the American Dream is very damaging to the mind in most cases. Imagine being stressed day in and day out and seeing no other way out of it some people may turn to alcohol , lust, greed or even much more harsher drugs not because they really wanted to but because they feel as though the system as felled them. Why else would most of these things be happening in much more impoverished communities if that wasn't true. If they are to clean up place these people in a group home that's almost like a homeless shelter and give them guidance by life couches, counselors and mentors, help them get free jobs, help them get back healthy again on their feet, have a doctor present in each one of the group homes, treat them as you would the immigrants with tax dollars. Locking them up would only make situations worst for those people. This isn't happening to immigrants because all is given unto them.

It is amazing how much damage the people in power let happen all to then say they wish to clean it up. They chased them away from Frankford and Lehigh all for the new apartments being built. Then the places buying up houses flipping them with up-marks, so much that the former tenets paid 500-800 not is set to the price point of 1200-2000 a month. Going up Tulip st the same thing and off of Aramingo Ave they are also building new homes as well, doing the same. All this gentrification, I understand the feeling of just not trying to try again when al of these factors are being used to keep you down. The clean up orders are solving the visible problem not the source of the problem. They chase them away and then they come back days later, as they are not holding them for long.

Being a female my first question is how do these women deal with their monthly visits! I retired from the UN two years ago and looking at this situation reminds me of some of the third world countries I worked in throughout the years. This is horrendous.
I grew up in Brooklyn in the hood. Ive seen all kinds of things and done all kinds of things but videos of kensington leave me with my mouth hanging open and wondering how this is possible.
