I’m prescribed mounjaro, for a while I wasn’t and paid out of pocket. I just need people to know with diet, exercise and Mounjaro I have lost 175lbs since May this year! It has been a game changer for me, I’m the healthiest I’ve been since highschool!
I have been on Mounjaro for 7 weeks and have lost 37 pounds! No side effects at all. It has given me more energy than ever. I exercise every day and have cut out all junk food!
I’ve been on Mounjaro for 8 months as I was close to pre-diabetic. I lost 50 pounds and have never felt better. I was having major back surgery and wanted to be in the best shape I could be in. It made all the difference in my recovery! I receive the viles from a compound pharmacy. I pay $395/vile and doing a shot a week, it lasts close to two months. I’ve really had zero side effects. The only downside is having to buy all new clothes. Was a size 14, now a size 6. 5’1 and was 176, now 126. I’m really pleased.
It was very expensive in the beginning, over $1000 the first month, but every month, it went down and now at $60 a month on Medicare. I am afraid it will be back to $1000 in the new year. I have lost a ton. Started at 232 in April and am at 159 today, December 3. Numerous side effects for me. I have so many medical conditions that have improved immensely....definitely worth it. I do get nauseous occasionally, more in the beginning. Sometimes diarrhea and other times constipated. You have to drink a lot of fluids and maintain a balanced diet. My joints don't hurt, cholesterol down by 80 points, and my a1c is in the 5's. I also have so much more energy. My cardiologist joked with me I was trying to get rid of him because all my numbers are perfect with the weight loss.

If the only difference is dosage, it seems wild to me that they have to spend money on a whole second brand.....Ozempic is Wegovy, Mounjaro is Zepbound.....whats the reason to create duplicates? I'm sure studies have a lot to do with it, but why not just study ozempic for weightloss and prescribe it as such vs two sets of something thats the same. Genuinely curious.
Mounjaro may be 3 times more effective than Ozempic, but for me it's also 3 times more expensive. I am diabetic and have taken Trulicity, Ozempic and now Mounjaro. I was getting the Trulicity & Ozempic for $25 per month with my insurance, plus a coupon. I used a coupon code for Mounjaro and the price per month was $122!! Right now, I'm using free samples from my doctor. It remains to be seen if I will be able to continue taking. Both Trulicity & Ozempic worked well to keep my glucose levels down, but unfortunately caused me to become severely ill with gastroparesis and pancreatitis. My doctor wanted me to try the Mounjaro, as it's similar, but slightly different, and the side effects are supposed to be much less. I just started the Mounjaro a few days ago, so we shall see.
Im diabetic, type 2 on insulin. Been on mounjaro for almost 4 months now and notice no less appetite,no weight loss. On 5mg . Cant understand why some people are losing weight so fast.
I am like you. Have been on mounjaro 2.5 for 4 weeks 5 mg for last week .now blood sugar levels brilliant. But no weight loss. I am fasting 18/6 which is supposed to be good for diabetics and doing keto diet no carbs at all. Why no weight loss. I feel I really cant do anything else. The only side effect is really really bad constipation. I have tried everything. But doc prescribed me enemas. Only thing that will shift it.
I can’t understand how people are loosing so much weight!!!i am now counting my calories and I am eating far less than I did before mounjaro so why am I not loosing.??
Because almost all of my side effects were digestive related, I always have some oyster crackers near by and if my stomach is bothering me i go back to my mom's old tummy fixer and take a few small crackers. They aren't too nutritional, but they seem to work. Very few calories and settles whatever is ailing right down.

The weight loss has been great these first 2 weeks, but she said she doesn't want it to taper off. YES!!! I just saw your 175 lb. weight loss since May! It's amazing, isn't it?! I just have been on it for less than 2 weeks & have lost 32 lbs! I never had a weight problem. I was finally diagnosed with cancer...then stage 4, 13 years ago. I had a huge tumor pressing on my pancreas and ovaries....hormones gone wild! I am so happy! Also...isn't this so much better than major surgery? Congratulations!! 175 in 6 months!!
I am on Medicare and this is true. I am a diabetic though and have several health issues. My Dr had to put in for an authorization but they approved me.
Not necessarily so. What if you have a cardiovascular issue and need to lose weight and are prescribed mounjaro? Isn't that a matter of life and death also? Whose issue is more important?
Why? Type 2 diabetes is caused by poor diet and lifestyle choices/ obesity. You're no better than someone using it to prevent themselves from developing type 2 diabetes. Losing weight will lead to better health for millions of people.
I've been taking mounjaro for a month now, and I didn't realize this makes me less hungry. I was wondering where's my appetite? But yeah it is expensive. Luckily the pharmacist broke it down to 4 shots... Which is a month, a shot every week. The pharmacist who helped me even said "I know you're not going to pay a $1,000?" 😂

It shouldn't imo be for celebs to lose 10lbs. or people who need to lose that amount. For people who need to lose 100lbs or more or 50 its got some merit to be used. As for diabetics, it should be prioritised to them of course it should, But in the same respect that real world answer for the existence of type 2 is ironically weight Of course there a few other reasons but its usually a weight thing, type 1 is something usually from birth. So in a lot of ways, it has has much need to a diabetic type 2 as it does to a pre diabetic or someone heading that way, so my point being as far as my opinion goes, type 2 people have as much merit for it as a pre diabetic person. Both equally as much need it, if the pre diabetic didn't use it they would likely end up diabetic and need it. So if they use it before they turn diabetic then surely it will free up use of it much quicker ? In the UK this is prescription only and with proof of need. Can't just rock up and buy it for a few 100 off the shelf and like anything it needs to be used as an aide alongside changes in diet and improving excersizing ect. rather than be a oh If I use this I can eat every KFC I want and continue to be slim which many out there will be doing
@@Lovelyone1 lots of things work for weight loss. That doesn't mean they should be used for them. Not everything works for diabetes care and what does work should be saved for it
Type 2 diabetes is caused by poor life choices. It's not the same as Type 1 diabetes. Most of these people could reverse their diabetes by losing weight and eating healthier. I'm old enough to remember when you only encountered people with type 1 diabetes.
@@larynOneka8080 so we choose which items in the grocery store have hidden sugars? We control exactly what items are available and affordable enough for us to afford? We control the family history which would tell us that we're susceptible to diabetes in the first place? Not every person with type 2 diabetes is now or has been fat, out of shape or eats poorly. These are simply indicators of what may happen and are not the only indicators. In fact, thin people who don't eat enough can also become type 2 diabetic, people who think they're eating in a healthy manner can become type 2 diabetic due to hidden factors and there are still factors unknown to medical science for why those things happen in the first place.

I wish doctors would STOP prescribing it simply for weight. I am a diabetic and cannot get my dosage because it is being hogged more by people trying to loose weight.
And what about people morbidly obese (as opposed to a just overweight)? Usually type 2 diabetes is in great part the result of uncontrolled obesity over time so this is preventative.
@@Jackbarrany Any weight loss use of this med is wrong. It is off label use and doctors should find another option. I have gone without most of this year because my dosage is unavailable. I take it for two reasons both of which are on label uses.
Not that simple. Diabetes Type II patients with high insulin resistance have the issue of most of what they eat going to "fat storage" while their cells are left starving. That is why most keep eating and eating with no real appetite satisfaction even with a full stomach and feel too fatigued to do any real daily exercise.

They separate the brands to make it easier for insurance companies and employers to discriminate against people with obesity.
They will water down the dose so people need more of it, create a crazy withdrawal effect so you can’t get off it
Mounjaro may be 3 times more effective than Ozempic, but for me it's also 3 times more expensive.
Is there in France?
Mounjaro/Zepbound is much more effective than Wegovy. Tried both
Mounjaro makes me so incredibly ill. That's how I'm losing weight: I can't eat or drink!
I am dealing with pretty horrendous side effects. The typical ones listed. Has anyone else found a way around this?
Because almost all of my side effects were digestive related, I always have some oyster crackers near by and if my stomach is bothering me i go back to my mom's old tummy fixer and take a few small crackers. They aren't too nutritional, but they seem to work. Very few calories and settles whatever is ailing right down.
I had worst side effects... abdominal pain. So Dr suggested to stop it ..was taking it for 6 months...I stopped just a month ago.
Amitiza 24mg twice daily has helped tremendous with the nausea from constipation! just FYI
@@jeffriesj75my constipation is unreal unlike anything I have had ever. 5 days nothing had to get medical enema. It is like my digestive system is paralyzed literally.
Not for weight loss
Ya and 3 times more expensive
This whole comment section is filled with bots.
Medicare DOES cover Mounjaro!
Where? Not here in Australia 🦘!
@agnaldoromualdobarboza6052
Oh, Okay!]. I'm in the US. I need to take a different medication, Trulicity, weekly for 4 weeks. My doc is requesting the switch to Mounjaro a few times per week.
I was gaining weight so quickly & being told I wasn't truthful to my self about how much I was eating, that I was premenopausal causing weight gain. All untrue.
I think these medications should be priority for diabetics... It is more of a matter of life and death
Not necessarily so. What if you have a cardiovascular issue and need to lose weight and are prescribed mounjaro? Isn't that a matter of life and death also? Whose issue is more important?
Utter drivel Anyone who requires a medication should be able to access it what makes you think you are more deserving
The pharmacist who helped me even said "I know you're not going to pay a $1,000?" 😂
Completamente falso que puedes comprarlo a $ 25 con el cupón , e intentado por todos los medios y lo más que te rebajan son 150 dólares . Te las quieren vender a más de 900 dólares . Esos cupones no sirven.
Majoro is tops I lost 7 lbs in the first 4 weeks, 0lbs on ozempic I was on it for 6 months , I felt so bad I wanted to die , manjaro is brilliant, very little side effects
Oh 😮
I wonder if and how much the pharmaceutical company paid them to promote this drug or worse if the pharmaceutical company and this network are part of the same conglomerate.
It works great down 75 lbs Type 2 gone but you need to lift weights . Especially your gluts and lower abs it keeps your pelvis straight . Also i get way better results if i inject it in my upper thigh instead of the stomach area non of it hurts . If you do the thigh make sure your sitting down and your leg is relaxed
the point is when you are fat like me its not as easy as just not eating reduce cal's and walking etc , i put weight on my body aches when i walk im too heavy i cant breath cant sleep right , docs say im too young for weightloss medication let alone if i ask for this
Do you have any other conditions? Cholesterol issues or heart problems? There are several other reasons you can get this. How is your A1c?
@@FirstClassBlonde all my blood tests - if you looked at them and then looked at me you might not beleive them . my tests come back healthy every single thing , not 1 thing looks wrong at all. ( i have no other conditions and even argue that i eat the same food as in my 20's - if not less but the weight packs on now)
I’m 25 and my doctor prescribed it to me- you gotta look around
Could you imagine if someone was able to sell these to obese peeps on the street?! Yo! You got that OZ or Mooney?! Shiiiiid! You know I gots you! That’ll be 5 benji’s😂😂
Just injected my first dose.
How are you doing?
While both of these can be used for weight loss, they should be used for diabetes care as that's what they were developed for.
They were but then they say it worked for weight too.
I have type 2 and was just prescribed this Rx, but too nervous to even go and pick it up. Don’t know why, but I’m nervous to even hold it. My brain…. Over working as usual 😳
I was like that too I remember my hands shaking when I pick it up so far i did my 3 shot Friday already lost 8.4 in two weeks only side effects is constipation
😢 stop before we diabetics can’t get our meds at all 😢
Type 2 diabetes is caused by an unhealthy lifestyle and is reversible.
Eli Lily Strikes again
I wish doctors would STOP prescribing it simply for weight. I am a diabetic and cannot get my dosage because it is being hogged more by people trying to loose weight.
And what about people morbidly obese (as opposed to a just overweight)? Usually type 2 diabetes is in great part the result of uncontrolled obesity over time so this is preventative.
@@Jackbarrany Any weight loss use of this med is wrong. It is off label use and doctors should find another option. I have gone without most of this year because my dosage is unavailable. I take it for two reasons both of which are on label uses.
@@chuckspires-hl8mdi take compound so not from the same inventory

My question is yall really can’t lose weight naturally ???
Or you can diet and exercise !!!!!
Not that simple. Diabetes Type II patients with high insulin resistance have the issue of most of what they eat going to "fat storage" while their cells are left starving. That is why most keep eating and eating with no real appetite satisfaction even with a full stomach and feel too fatigued to do any real daily exercise.
@@randys6220 Novice here. When you eat, your body extracts the nutrients and whatever is left is waste (you poop it out). Isn’t Soylent the drink just all the nutrients without the tons of waste? How would something like that work in regards to people with diabetes type 2?
Diet and exercise have proven to not work over the long term. Everybody who tries it gains the weight back.
