I always like to break down emotional scenes and you can see how emotionally intimate the response is based on their body language, both overt and involuntary. Like the blood rushing to the ears, the flushing of the face, the breathing, blown pupils ect. The actresses are really immersed in the characters and sometimes you can see when they get into subspace and forget they're acting. It's micro actions they take when you see them pull out of it and it's even more prevalent when you watch the behind the scenes where they have moments where they either need a break or reminder that they are not their characters. These are not frivolous characters and the emotions they carry and emote are deep and heavy. These two are great I've seen P.B. in other webseries but P.R. is amazing for a first time acting role. I also appreciate the crew and the intimacy coordinator who are forever checking in with the girls and keeping them mentally healthy.
👏🏽👏🏽 I would love to see the behind the scenes for the college special. Both Pris definitely do an amazing job of situating themselves within their characters and projecting what they believe their characters would feel. I sometimes think it's harder to forget yourself in love scenes because you often have a third person (director, usually) watching you get intimate as well but you would never know it with the way they commit to the scene.

You spoke truth about passion for what you do. I am a recently retired special education teacher who taught for 39 years (mainly autism and kids with emotional/behavioral disabilities). It was not easy or lucrative but boy was it rewarding, fun, interesting, and lifelong learning. Val showed so much vulnerability when she asked her about seeing the inside of the tent and thought Luisa thought Val had gone to her old way of doing things. During the intimate scene Val appeared more vulnerable than Luisa when when Luisa became more the top The next item to talk about is the scene at the end. I am glad you said something about Igor leaving with Valentina; I think that is why mom clutched her chest. In the past no matter what happened with Val and her mom, Igor sympathized with Catarina. The way he looked at her so disappointed and leaving with Val let her know she might lose him as well. Marcos as well lost his cool; getting her to realize she made a huge calculated error. She assumed father and son would fall in line with her; again a huge error in judgement; that has to be hard on a successful lawyer.

Actors did perfect job portraying first time, anxiety, vulnerability, shy touching and smiling in the beginning of a scene, they had a lot of eye contact, it’s editing and music choice that were not good. Jumping cuts to suit music not the story Reis and Buiar were telling. I agree that we needed more of their interactions before the first time on that exact day or in general, because time jumps are so crazy with this show, 1st year of college- Valu kissed then everything else it’s already last year.

I agree that the actresses portrayed "first time" really nicely. You could look at their faces and see all the emotions you noted, shyness, vulnerability, even wonder (When Lu was kneeling, looking up at Val). I don't so much mind the jump cuts or the music per say but yeah, maybe the editing overall? Or maybe, if they'd given us their earlier interactions then this scene would feel perfectly situated in the moment🤷🏽♀️ 💯💯💯We kind of missed a good chunk of their build up with the way they time jumped to the last year😅

I think it's because Val needs certainly. We see the way her mother treats her and pressures her constantly. She chips away at her self esteem and so casually dispenses emotional damage on a devastating scale more constant than not. Growing up in that type of environment is exhausting and as confident as I am when it comes to intimate interpersonal relationships I'm confident but cautious because I have to trust my vulnerability won't be used against me. That's extremely hard to do because we become use to the familia abuse but when it's someone you chose it hurts more and reinforces the micro aggressions we're raised with. To be honest you can see the brother is treated very differently. The dad is fair to both kids but you can tell the mother favors the brother and that's reiterated throughout the entire series. Val is always fighting for the moms approval while the brother doesn't see just how deeply emotionally damaging the mom is to his sister. I know it's a cultural thing where the male child is held in hire regard and that's why he may be blind to just how much hurt his sister carries especially when he defends and justifies the moms actions to her. You have how to do mentally strong but you do create a shell and persona to help protect yourself.

Just at the specific moment, where Lu already said “I like someone else” it is obvious that there will be no 3rd person. The specific moment I get as just starting playing a bit, not so serious. On the other hand, the scene in front of the tent did show a serious worry of Val, she really needed the full approval of Luiza accepting her for real. But Luiza was just trying to be funny and play a bit, but also with that unserious way, she did confirm she really love Val for who she is, also when her is “being playfull Valentina”. The following get back to serious Lu, and agreeing to go inside, swept Val of her feet. And Val was for sure the one who was more nervous during the first time.
Lol, it's true that Val does that but I feel it's usually obvious when she's baiting or teasing. In 4:58, she looked like she was lowkey upset/ trying not to show it. Like she sincerely believed Luisa was going to name some other name. Also the circumstances were a bit different, with them having rekindled their romance in 2x04, but Val not even thinking Lu likes her in College Special ep 4.

She hoped and she pursued and she teased but in the end I think the continuity of the character remains consistent from past to present. She wanted to Luiza to see her and want her but she held space “the third space” for Lu to come to that on the value of her honesty, vulnerability and integrity. Val was always so careful with Lu’s boundaries. I don’t think she would’ve kissed Lu first. Her goal has always been to make Luiza feel safe with her. That level of security laid the foundation for everything else. What I love is that they share the same values. What’s makes Val so attractive is that her power lies in her ability see Lu as a fully realized person, not just a woman she’s trying to conquer. Lu is someone she admires, a friend first. Don't know bout others but I think the love scene was well done especially after knowing it was both their first time. The nervous and hesitation was well portrayed. Also I don't have a problem with the frames being in sync with the music considering it's a college special and the probably want to keep the vive teenage-ish and different from the main seasons.
The actresses definitely portrayed the atmosphere of a first time well. I like your take on the music mimicking the youthful vibe of the college special. I don't mind the cuts in time with the music either. Despite this I still have to wonder if the other aspects of the scene: lighting, length, timing etc. and the surrounding context ( what they show us of what happened before) really highlight this pivotal moment in their relationship. It feels like it was a great love scene but it could still have been more of a landmark moment in the show itself🤷🏽♀️ But I guess, there are also the limitation of time and funds to consider, so they did the best they could with what they had😄

And I thought they had a lot of eye contact and pausing and slow movement and hesitation. But someone mentioned that the music and editing were the issue and I agree. The jump cutting in the editing took away front eh pacing of the scenes. because it didn't show the slow build in connection, vulnerability and intimacy because now were jumping around.

This "hook up" translation is not what it is in Portuguese. Brasilians/Porugueses on twitter explained this. There is not necessary sexual corelation with this expression. So, she just waited/hoped for Lu to come to/for her. It's the perfect parallel with 0103, the mirror scene, or 0106 with the :"Valentina' go get the dust pan (...)" and almost kiss. Older Valen knows her Lu and just waits, if you ready, come and get me. Beautiful detail and good writing. 4. 9:20 ooof, you can really write tons of thesis abt this subject. It only adds to how much damage Catarina made. When I saw that scene for the first time, I was like, girl have you seen yourself? But after a while, well, it makes sense. All her life she wanted her mother's approval, and got little of it, so she invented that "cool chick" persona to get all the attention and superficial approval from strangers. And then Lu shows up and sweeps her off her feet. She got the girl's attention, but she still can't belive that this girl really finds her worth/attractive/special. It really shows how much Valen is insecure of herslef deep inside. Also, yep that "Ai carinho", is the sweetest.😍 6. And now to the "pièce de résistance", the sex scene. Ugh...when I watched it the first time, I got very frustrated and didn't know exactly why 😅Then I watched it again, and again, and again, you know for research and science purposes 😎🧐 And it's funny, because the thing that you like, is exactly the thing that puts me off, which is the weird editing in sync with beat bass line of the background music. Why? Why do that? It's their first time, yes I know we don't know that in that very moment, but that's what got me even more frustrated. The begining of the scene is nice and cute with soft touches, the hesitancy, the nerves from both of them and then bam, the cutting and the speeding enter with the bum bum bass beat in sync... It takes away the authenticity, naturalness and subtleness of the scene, especially when we later learn that this is their first time. Don't get it, don't like it. And yep, like you said, 0108 is much better with capturing that "first time" in some way. And yeah, the first time being something to cherish with someone special is much, much better than just having sex just because of some weird concept of "virginity". And don't even get me started with lighting and sapphic love/sex scenes in media...it's the whole saga... Also, these rings on Valen's fingers are real safety hazard in this kind of "activités" 🤣🤣🤣 But I give them that, they are very brave 😅 Ah, to be young, wild and carefree againg, to go to the woods and have the first time in the tent 🤣🤣🤣 On the other hand, their exchange on the bench after is🤌🤌🤌 beautiful. All the shyness and sincerity that they profess to each other is very natural and sweet. Although I would like to see more physical contact with that scene. More sweet, less sexy, at least at the beginning. So what I wanted, was for a longer scene, first of all (where we got extended touches, shy looks, careful exploration and no cutting at all for that part. We see them start somewhere, take of clothing, lay down etc. We get to feel it. It would have helped too if we had seen their day, before that scene. Felt the love, felt the chemistry, saw them looking at each other and realised they've reached a whole new level of trust and security in the relationship which would then culminate in that love scene. If we had gotten a longer beginning and middle, I don't mind the cutting or beats at the end, when things get going and they're too caught up in passion to be shy or uncertain. But seeing as how it's not just their first time with each other, but their first time ever in life, I just needed a little...more for the scene. Like it felt too tidy, too neat. Like I could see Natalie and Priscilla orchestrating to give us what they thought we wanted. Maybe give me the first part with no music and no direction and no cuts, and let me see how they ended up with Val gliding fingers over Lu's abs and let me see moving to hover over Lu and Lu watching her do it. You know. Like...show me. Not the perfectly packaged love scene for stupid wife fans...show me the real thing...Hope that makes sense😂😂. 😂😂😂👍🏽 7. 😂😂😂LOVED the bachata scene as well. I always like to break down emotional scenes and you can see how emotionally intimate the response is based on their body language, both overt and involuntary. Like the blood rushing to the ears, the flushing of the face, the breathing, blown pupils ect. The actresses are really immersed in the characters and sometimes you can see when they get into subspace and forget they're acting. It's micro actions they take when you see them pull out of it and it's even more prevalent when you watch the behind the scenes where they have moments where they either need a break or reminder that they are not their characters. These are not frivolous characters and the emotions they carry and emote are deep and heavy. These two are great I've seen P.B. in other webseries but P.R. is amazing for a first time acting role. I also appreciate the crew and the intimacy coordinator who are forever checking in with the girls and keeping them mentally healthy.

Both Pris definitely do an amazing job of situating themselves within their characters and projecting what they believe their characters would feel. I sometimes think it's harder to forget yourself in love scenes because you often have a third person (director, usually) watching you get intimate as well but you would never know it with the way they commit to the scene.

She assumed father and son would fall in line with her; again a huge error in judgement; that has to be hard on a successful lawyer.

Actors did perfect job portraying first time, anxiety, vulnerability, shy touching and smiling in the beginning of a scene, they had a lot of eye contact, it’s editing and music choice that were not good. Jumping cuts to suit music not the story Reis and Buiar were telling. I agree that we needed more of their interactions before the first time on that exact day or in general, because time jumps are so crazy with this show, 1st year of college- Valu kissed then everything else it’s already last year.

I think it's because Val needs certainly. We see the way her mother treats her and pressures her constantly. She chips away at her self esteem and so casually dispenses emotional damage on a devastating scale more constant than not. Growing up in that type of environment is exhausting and as confident as I am when it comes to intimate interpersonal relationships I'm confident but cautious because I have to trust my vulnerability won't be used against me. That's extremely hard to do because we become use to the familia abuse but when it's someone you chose it hurts more and reinforces the micro aggressions we're raised with. To be honest you can see the brother is treated very differently. The dad is fair to both kids but you can tell the mother favors the brother and that's reiterated throughout the entire series. Val is always fighting for the moms approval while the brother doesn't see just how deeply emotionally damaging the mom is to his sister. I know it's a cultural thing where the male child is held in hire regard and that's why he may be blind to just how much hurt his sister carries especially when he defends and justifies the moms actions to her. You have how to do mentally strong but you do create a shell and persona to help protect yourself.

Just at the specific moment, where Lu already said “I like someone else” it is obvious that there will be no 3rd person. The specific moment I get as just starting playing a bit, not so serious. On the other hand, the scene in front of the tent did show a serious worry of Val, she really needed the full approval of Luiza accepting her for real. But Luiza was just trying to be funny and play a bit, but also with that unserious way, she did confirm she really love Val for who she is, also when her is “being playfull Valentina”. The following get back to serious Lu, and agreeing to go inside, swept Val of her feet. And Val was for sure the one who was more nervous during the first time.

She hoped and she pursued and she teased but in the end I think the continuity of the character remains consistent from past to present. She wanted to Luiza to see her and want her but she held space “the third space” for Lu to come to that on the value of her honesty, vulnerability and integrity. Val was always so careful with Lu’s boundaries. I don’t think she would’ve kissed Lu first. Her goal has always been to make Luiza feel safe with her. That level of security laid the foundation for everything else. What I love is that they share the same values. What’s makes Val so attractive is that her power lies in her ability see Lu as a fully realized person, not just a woman she’s trying to conquer. Lu is someone she admires, a friend first. The magnetism and attraction complements the deep respect and reverence they have for each other. To your other point about Lu’s assertiveness. Back then our parents didn’t have options as we do now, so they often go for the most sustainable and reliable option and that translates to being a doctor, nurse, lawyer, etc, and not owning your own business or being a social media influencer or being happy doing what you’re best at and make money (some less money than an actual career or way more). Our parents I think believe that we need to find a career that’s gonna put food on your table and a roof over your head 100% of the time and not a risk move which might not do that. My personal opinion is do what makes you happy and be the best at it. If it’s shoes you know how to make, be the best at it, if it’s drawing you know how to do, do it right.

Let’s talk about the scene, shall we lol also, that silence you had after the scene was over was a whole conversation and I understood every word 😂😂😂😂 We have seen love scenes between these two before but honestly I love Love LOVE how different this was and how typical of a “First time” scene it was. I thought It was a bit messy enough, if you will, yet so sensual and beautiful, full with moments of slight nervousness and “Do I touch you here, do I not? Do I kiss you? What do we do next? Which makes the scene more satisfying and enjoyable and the Pugliese/Smith duo did just that here with this scene. Don't know bout others but I think the love scene was well done especially after knowing it was both their first time. The nervous and hesitation was well portrayed. Also I don't have a problem with the frames being in sync with the music considering it's a college special and the probably want to keep the vive teenage-ish and different from the main seasons.
The actresses definitely portrayed the atmosphere of a first time well. I like your take on the music mimicking the youthful vibe of the college special. I don't mind the cuts in time with the music either. Despite this I still have to wonder if the other aspects of the scene: lighting, length, timing etc. and the surrounding context ( what they show us of what happened before) really highlight this pivotal moment in their relationship.
It feels like it was a great love scene but it could still have been more of a landmark moment in the show itself🤷🏽♀️
But I guess, there are also the limitation of time and funds to consider, so they did the best they could with what they had😄

And I thought they had a lot of eye contact and pausing and slow movement and hesitation. But someone mentioned that the music and editing were the issue and I agree. The jump cutting in the editing took away front eh pacing of the scenes. because it didn't show the slow build in connection, vulnerability and intimacy because now were jumping around.

Older Valen knows her Lu and just waits, if you ready, come and get me. Beautiful detail and good writing.
4. 9:20 ooof, you can really write tons of thesis abt this subject. I agree wholeheartedly with you on this. Yes, a good parent wants the best for their children, but the mistake a lot of parents make, they do not see their childern as a whole, individual human being, just the better version/copy of themselfs, and it sucks, it sucks so much, because the pressure kids get from patents' expectations can be devasteting sometimes. It only adds to how much damage Catarina made. When I saw that scene for the first time, I was like, girl have you seen yourself? But after a while, well, it makes sense. 6. And now to the "pièce de résistance", the sex scene. Ugh...when I watched it the first time, I got very frustrated and didn't know exactly why 😅Then I watched it again, and again, and again, you know for research and science purposes 😎🧐 And it's funny, because the thing that you like, is exactly the thing that puts me off, which is the weird editing in sync with beat bass line of the background music. Why? Why do that? It's their first time, yes I know we don't know that in that very moment, but that's what got me even more frustrated. The begining of the scene is nice and cute with soft touches, the hesitancy, the nerves from both of them and then bam, the cutting and the speeding enter with the bum bum bass beat in sync... It takes away the authenticity, naturalness and subtleness of the scene, especially when we later learn that this is their first time. Don't get it, don't like it. And yep, like you said, 0108 is much better with capturing that "first time" in some way.
And yeah, the first time being something to cherish with someone special is much, much better than just having sex just because of some weird concept of "virginity".
And don't even get me started with lighting and sapphic love/sex scenes in media...it's the whole saga...
Also, these rings on Valen's fingers are real safety hazard in this kind of "activités" 🤣🤣🤣 But I give them that, they are very brave 😅 Ah, to be young, wild and carefree againg, to go to the woods and have the first time in the tent 🤣🤣🤣

6. Great, loove that someone else has identified something about the scene that doesn't quite fit right. Now, I didn't link what was off about the scene to the bass of the music or the cutting in sync with that music. As a standalone editing feature, I think it's dope. But yeah, maybe it contributed to the issue I have with their first time. My main issue, (and it's hard to articulate because it's mostly feelings, so forgive me if the explanation is a little vague) is that I wanted something that was more, intimate and less sensual, at least right at the beginning. More sweet, less sexy, at least at the beginning. So what I wanted, was for a longer scene, first of all (where we got extended touches, shy looks, careful exploration and no cutting at all for that part. We see them start somewhere, take of clothing, lay down etc. We get to feel it. It would have helped too if we had seen their day, before that scene. Felt the love, felt the chemistry, saw them looking at each other and realised they've reached a whole new level of trust and security in the relationship which would then culminate in that love scene.
If we had gotten a longer beginning and middle, I don't mind the cutting or beats at the end, when things get going and they're too caught up in passion to be shy or uncertain. But seeing as how it's not just their first time with each other, but their first time ever in life, I just needed a little...more for the scene. Like it felt too tidy, too neat. Like I could see Natalie and Priscilla orchestrating to give us what they thought we wanted. Maybe give me the first part with no music and no direction and no cuts, and let me see how they ended up with Val gliding fingers over Lu's abs and let me see moving to hover over Lu and Lu watching her do it. You know. Like...show me. Not the perfectly packaged love scene for stupid wife fans...show me the real thing...Hope that makes sense😂😂.
