Definately not 400bhp. Looking at the JB4 tune they give a "max 100bhp extra" on the JB4(tuningbox) module. So that is where the 400 comes from. If you look a the "real" tuners.. they come to 340/350 bhp with a downpipe, OPF delete midpipe, bigger intercooler, and a stage 2+ tune. And this is missing the intercooler as far as I can hear in the beginning of the video. For 400 horses you need a bigger turbo. This is maybe at around 330.
Ya I would be surprised if it was over 320. It got left in the opening straight away by a BMW hatchback that was probably 350 tops. These kids and their numbers. I tell ya. Intake might be 15 horsepower. a tune might be 30-40 horsepower. downpipe maybe 20 horsepower. again, hes luck to have 320 real horsepower. looks pretty standard.
@@rediscoveryrecords1348 Well the standard 306bhp are often around 315/320 when put on a dyno. A mod here and there and you might gain 10 or so. And without the intercooler the inlet temperature on a B48 is high. That is why tuners like Mosselman and BMW/Mini Speed, that are offering a 350bhp package, only sell you that when you also take the intercooler.

You all noticed it got passed by the M140i, but failed to see the Noble with better power to weight ratio behind it?
for the younger generation especially in England early to mid 20s 6 cylinders+ is a killer on car insurance i wanted the 2019 M140i it costs me anywhere from £4000 to £6000... everyone knows they sound better and are faster but if you want a quick 300HP good looking car with good features then the M135i or M235i are probably the best option it used to be the Golf R MK 7.5... For all the haters in here that think they know something about what a real BMW is! but yet seem to know fuck all about how a business like BMW manages to fund the R&D that builds these vehicles that they god worship so much to the point they can’t see the good in anything else. BMW's decision to create the M235i Gran Coupe was strategic, aimed at attracting buyers who were drawn to the Audi S3’s blend of performance, luxury, and practicality. The premium compact sports sedan segment had grown fiercely competitive, and BMW needed a player to counter the success Audi was seeing. By entering this space, BMW broadened its appeal, offering a vehicle that could match the S3’s performance while bringing BMW's brand cachet to a more accessible level. As for the criticism from BMW purists, it misses the mark. The M235i Gran Coupe isn’t slow by any reasonable standard, with a 0-60 time comparable to other models in its class. While it deviates from traditional rear-wheel-drive BMW dynamics, the front-wheel-drive architecture allows BMW to compete more directly with Audi’s similar drivetrain, ensuring driving characteristics that suit a wider audience. Calling it a "Mini" ignores the clear differentiation in performance and refinement. The M badge here is not about fitting into the mold of a full-fledged M car but about offering a sporty, capable alternative that resonates with a younger, more urban audience. BMW evolved, and the M235i Gran Coupe represents that progression. Remeber without cars like the M135 & M235 that are available alternatives to an AMG35, Golf R or S3 BMW would be hemorrhaging money in the segment having no competition in the price range of these cars! This means less profits, less investment in creating top end vehicles that outperform others in their class, the type of vehicles that most of you twats on here complaining have likely ever been in anyway. Probably all driving VXR’s and ST’s
Lots of hate for this car :( Still, I love my 220i F44 - in my opinion it looks a lot better in person than in videos and photos. If the stars align this year I might even manage a trip to the 'ring with it :)

Fwd based drivetrain. It's about preference not money. I think the 330I has better weight distribution and rotation. That's all. No hate, I'm happy the owner built something he loves and that it's making other people happy too.

try both and see which one fits you. Both are FWD. In BMW depends how its configurate is have the M Adaptiv suspension and the Alcantara M seats which are comfortable. My 2 grand coupe its only 3 weeks old 😂 and i didn’t push to limit yet but it responds very quick and good. In corners you have to be a little careful but its not that tragic. Many ppl didnt try this car but gives an opinion about it. Trust me they are fun( its not for drift like RWD) but still gives you fun. go try both and than you’ll see.
No way that’s 400bhp, the M140 smoked it. I have an M240i, and wife has the M135i, honestly feel that B58 has about 100 more bhp, and more torque everywhere. I like the M135 in the wet though, although it understeers when pushed which is not very BMW. RWD still much more fun and sounds epic. Keep up the good work, love your channel Misha 💥 new teeth/ jaw looking superb too!
A B48e stage 2 motor will output around 360hp on 98 RON (downpipe and upgraded intercooler). Stage 2 E85 will get you up around 400hp. For more power you need upgraded turbo. Best off the shelf turbo for B48e is the IPOS IM450.
Different pistons crankshaft and turbo with lower compression ratio so not exactly the same engine but you should be able to push yours pretty close to stock

Obviously the M235i won't make 400hp with just jb4 and intake, but it'll probably be close. You all noticed it got passed by the M140i, but failed to see the Noble with better power to weight ratio behind it?
220F is 104C, so not bad at all
What a shame to put 1 series and 2 series to FWD based platforms
it is pretty close to MINI, right? I also find it as a dropback
their ti models usually faster with the fwd setup how i dont know even with less power usually.
Cheaper to build.
I guess BMW have watched all those youtube reviews complaining about leg space in the back of the old 1/2 series 😂
g42 is bmw, f22 is bmw, f44 is not, it's a mini
Car looked incredibly balanced on the track. Still not sure on the 4 cylinder instead of the 6.
for the younger generation especially in England early to mid 20s 6 cylinders+ is a killer on car insurance i wanted the 2019 M140i it costs me anywhere from £4000 to £6000... everyone knows they sound better and are faster but if you want a quick 300HP good looking car with good features then the M135i or M235i are probably the best option it used to be the Golf R MK 7.5... S3s are quite good too and A45s but they are again very expensive cars and the insurance kinda fucks you over on them
For all the haters in here that think they know something about what a real BMW is! but yet seem to know fuck all about how a business like BMW manages to fund the R&D that builds these vehicles that they god worship so much to the point they can’t see the good in anything else.
I love this car, it's so pretty!❤
The fuel consumption gauge says that the track it's long about 70 km 😁
No dash lights or oil temperature warnings mean there is still some room in terms of tuning, right?
not much room on that turbo tho and it aint 400hp as he thinks. maybe 320-350 max
Good video
Do you ever adjust/check the tire pressure before these ride along laps?
Yes 👍🏻
Lots of hate for this car :( Still, I love my 220i F44 - in my opinion it looks a lot better in person than in videos and photos. If the stars align this year I might even manage a trip to the 'ring with it :)
Beautiful cars, but why couldnt it get over 126mph?
This car drives better than any base model bmw, drive it then come back and tell me how u feel, always people with 15+ yr old cars commenting, go get ur money up
Fwd based drivetrain. It's about preference not money. I think the 330I has better weight distribution and rotation. That's all. No hate, I'm happy the owner built something he loves and that it's making other people happy too.
@@BubbaPyro99okay but it has less performance
Sorry Misha, today my like its for the owner!! he love it
Did he say the JB4 was giving near 400? It looked ok but I wouldn’t have put it at that sort of power. Iv’e tried to like the 2.0 M lites but they really did have big shoes to fill after that amazing M140 B58 engine.
But he’s wrong. 350-360 with DP removed is more realistic.
Please select on to a BMW with such a instrument cluster, the G-Meter instead of the entertainment source.
Would be a very interesting information.
How are the sales of this generation going vs previous 240/235?
low :)
Actually, high - considering it’s getting replaced with the F74 in Q3/4 this year.
they are increasing as car insurance is becoming crazy on anything with 6 cylinders or more anyone whos in their early to mid 20s will be wanting S3s, Golf Rs and now the newer M135i and M235i
@@torentmonkey🤣🤣🤣actually the sales its good buddy, trust me 😊
trying to decide between one of these and a MK7 Golf R
Golf
try both and see which one fits you.
M140I was 490hp :)
The sunroof is nice
Não sei em que mundo essa galera dos comentários vive, que bm linda slc
Muito hate desnecessário, ainda acho que esse bmw mantém a essência da marca. Experiência de dirigir incrível, estou pensando em fazer remap no meu.
This was epic 👀👀👀
A b48 with DP and JB4 is good for an additional 40-50hp max. Ain’t no way in hell he has 400hp. He would be much quicker than an m240 with that claim
A B48e stage 2 motor will output around 360hp on 98 RON (downpipe and upgraded intercooler). Stage 2 E85 will get you up around 400hp.
For more power you need upgraded turbo. Best off the shelf turbo for B48e is the IPOS IM450.
Is it possile to make a 228i grand coupe as fast as a m235i grand coupe with some mods
probably just a tune to get to stock M levels
@@HarryTwatter thats what I was thinking then could eventually add some other mods later on
Different pistons crankshaft and turbo with lower compression ratio so not exactly the same engine but you should be able to push yours pretty close to stock
I can't know how it feels, but it looks like it would be fun, and nice, and fun. maybe
It pulls fairly consistently but nothing crazy fast. Almost giving diesel vibes
Imported from the us?
Most likely. Service members not in combat zones can usually bring a personal vehicle to their duty station abroad.
@@_SHANE_ idk much about this but shouldnt it have nato plates or us plates if a military guy owns it rn?
@@DaveWshh No. service members have to register their vehicle with that country.. In Italy , we didn't have euro plates. We had AFI (allied forces italy ) . Each country has their own criteria . But no, no U.S. plates.
‘what kinda Mad Max creation?…’ 😂🫶👊💥
Golf 🤷🏼♂️ you can see at the beginning the 1BMW R6 pulling away
Misha, be careful if you're ever offered to drive an Audi with factory ceramic brakes. Don't rely on them. Audi messed up, they don't come with seals that can withstand the temperature those brakes should be able to work on an the car can suffer catastrophich brake fluid leak.
What a strange and out of context comment! Weirdo, ok it’s not the attention you were looks for but it’s attention!
This is not a real bmw
The real bmw passed him after the cones..
It's like 80% of lexuses are not lexuses but toyotas in disguise similarly with audi and vw.
Das like seying a only type Rs are only real honda.
@@josefinkjellsson7051 bro look how it ended for the “real” bmw at 9:55💀
this is in fact one true BMW. I'd rather shut the f up if I was a 9 year old supra enthusiast.
It sounds like it's choking. Something is holding it back. She should be getting to redline much faster. She should be a screamer at 400HP.
Mooi.
Nice one
It’s a shame all the engine sounds come through the speakers on these and new BMWs in general. Can’t beat the older bmw models. 👍
where you came with this from 🤣🤣🤣🤣 its coming still from exhaust pipe
@@Simo-l5o I've got an M235i the majority of the engine sound comes via the speakers it sounds okay ish from the outside but not great, Older BMW's sound better that's my point.
I'm also basing this on a completely stock BMW F44 M235i which I have.
Im not sure what the actual power is, but it looks so similart to my Golf 7 GTI stage, which is 300hp, so I would get this is actually stock? Golf R stage1 looks much faster then this and its only near 400hp
I absolutely cannot stand how BMW tries to mask the sound of the 4 cylinder with fake audio.
so many experts on here jeees 😂 obviously you went in a Bmw. weird cuz on my 2024 bimmer the sound comes from exhaust 😂
@@Simo-l5o your car is clearly not an M then 😂
Godlike
It must be painful to watch a F140 pull past out the gate. Idk what bmw were thinking going fwd and fwd biased when they sold so well just fwd and rwd biased. Oh, yes, money. Car manufacturers are just plain greedy now they must make these cars for about 10k and look what they charge for some of them!
2 of 3 today's videos watched, away watch the 3rd 😎
Why does this car rev so low
B48 life
Underwhelming is an understatement 😅😂
Yeah I have an aggressive jb4 tune on my 235, dyno tunes 337hp. And I have more bolt ons than this car.
Not pushing 400, not even close. 350-360 MAX with DP/Software. The 4 bangers are not the engines you want if going for a tune and looking for 400HP. B58 Stage 1+ does it easily enough
In german we say: Ich kann keine "Freude Am Fahren" erkennen!
Misha you didn't use your horsepower metor after the lap😔
Just another walk in the park for Misha :)
That is not tuned surety!
Misha... Get the Passenger foot cam going!!!
Too bad it's not a B58 and that 140i blew past it.
Das Auto ist nicht schlecht!
Aber 6 Zylinder BMW ,ist halt was anderes. ✌
JB4 kinda sucks, go MHD and once you have all your mods done get a custom map from David Shoup.
For sure. It's only 50 hp added when I can have 100+. Just saving rn and gonna send the ECU off to Femto this year. I have a second car and renting it out for the time being so I can't afford to have it down for 2 weeks but I'll get it done. I appreciate you tho for the suggestion. It's all about money and time rn.
Idk seems sensitive on the steering and looks slow I seen him go ham with other cars lol
Watching a proper 6cyl, rwd 1 series pull away immediately tells you all you need about this generation of 1/2 series
So what do you drive?
@@alexlam24 I currently own an e92 M3. Not that that makes any difference to my comment about the "Mini" gen 1 and 2 series.
You’re right, it got too hot and the 235 passed it before they even hit Dottinger Hohe. Guess they are building them better now 🙃
@@tomr_101 depends on where you from and your age as in England you arent getting a 6 cylinder or more M or M light car in your early to mid 20s without the car insurance being £4000 to £6000 minimum average person can not afford that type of money
The issue is these new 4cyl "Mini" 1/2 series are just neutered compared to what came before then. They're not bad cars per se, but I don't understand the desire to purchase one at a higher cost vs the alternatives (bmw or otherwise).
Since these are FWD based i see no reason why someone would buy this over a Golf R.. At least a Golf is a handsome car
I agree 💯 Imo BMW have single handedly removed any reason to pick a BMW over any of the VW group's offerings for a small fun car .
this BMW is nice, if you want to be a normal guy get an R but I would much rather have this..
