Nice view into your daily life. Thanks guys!
You’re very welcome!
Fun to see what you guys got up to after we left! Great shots of the area. Wild turkey too!
Yeah I would say you guys missed the Turkeys but they were LOUD in the early AM.
let us see a show of the supplies you carry for back woods camping fresh, pacakged, extra water, and extras... and an est. on how long you can stay remote. Also solar panel on the roof? a good reason to camp where you get sun. what to you use to clean the camper plastic windows and how do you reach them.
Tonight on chef joe sounds like the start of a great new mini series
Looks like you two have really made this work for you. May God continue to bless and keep you all (y'all)!!!
Thank you Tim
Enjoyed seeing the camper in use! Thank you for sharing. Stay Safe!
How about a video on the background logistics? How do you get your mail? Do you store seasonal gear somewhere? Downsides of van life? Stuff that typical van lifers never talk about.
We’ve discussed most of those topics before - if you go through our videos and scroll you’ll see lots of stuff covered. We try to rehash some of it from time to time when it makes sense.
glad you are both on the road
I see you ditched the collapsing stairs for a single step. More convenient!
Joe - that shower setup worked out much better than I thought it would.
Hey, no adds. Fantastic.
I like watching Joe's Rice - A - Reesso cooking tips.
Thank you
Nice to have you guys back, thanks for sharing.
Great to see how you life, thanks for charing! Greatings from switzerland
Y’all have a great set up and I am wishing I was there. Happy camping and safe travels .👍
Thank you Mark! Hope you’re doing well.
We're the Russos we’re doing good,just not as good as y’all 😃
Very appreciative of how you show off the many advantages of a truck bed camper...my favorite RV platform! Thanks for another great video!!
You’re very welcome!
Awe, my kind of camping. Bravo on shower water use. I will make your Joe rice recipe. Yum. Safe travels.
Let me know how it turns out.
It's great to know you want to learn another language. Greetings from Mexico
Thanks Uriel!
Very handy shower option. I like it for sure. Nice to see "a day in the life" video from you all.
Thanks!
So cool and peaceful under the trees.... Can't wait to get an RV and follow your footsteps!
ABSOLUTELY !!!!! Coffee and bacon are the BEST smells for a SMALL space.
Love seeing you out and about again. Kate looks so different with longer hair. The stew looks yummy. I love my instapot.
Thanks Nancy!
I could almost smell the coffee☕
Great video. Looks comfy in there too.
Love the code words “ Time for a nap” is one the best! Of course I could be off topic 😇
Great video today Folks, have a “ shower & a nap” then go for a long hike in that wonderful forest 🌳
Nice video y’all. Loving the new rig! That shower looks like it works really well.
Yeah we love it and in fact I just got done taking one.
So happy to see you two back in your camping mode! -Breathe the freshness of the forest's crisp, clean air for us! Enjoy each other, be Safe & be Free 😉
Finally some great content. This is what I am used to see from the Russos.
I hope not.
I love your pop up camper. It looks very cozy. The food you made looked good, and ya know, I could almost smell it. Thanks for sharing. Be safe, stay well.
You’re welcome Bonnie!
I’ve missed your camping videos so much...
Thanks for taking us along.
Yeah get it chef joe looks good
Thanks Jon!
Self sufficient “as long as the water holds out.” Wish there was some sort of water collection system from air, rain, etc.
There's a DIY that can help stretch your water supply. Look up Shower Loop, etc.
The system essentially filters and treats the shower water as it drains, then sends it back through your shower head. It's already warm, so not much energy used constantly heating water.
A couple explains their built: "VAN Tour: Recirculating Shower | How to Shower in a VAN" (At Wando Tales channel)
Thanks for sharing your day with us. I liked it.
You’re very welcome Linda
Wow! You’re a great cook!... hehehehe. I never thought you can bring a rice/stew cooker on camper truck!
Nice to see you guys back out on road, looking forward to more videos, Kate loving the hair. Stay Safe you guys
Thanks Mike!
Joe, you should do a cook book. A man’s cook book for camping, other than grilling, using the instant pot!! Give Kait a run for her recipes! Thanks for this awesome look into daily truck camper life.
Ha! Very good idea!
Good to see you back on the road guys. Great vid, enjoyed much.
Thanks!
That's Jambalaya my friends. Looks good.
Thanks!
We need Kate takes us on a tour soon
What a lovely spot you picked. This is what camper life is meant to be. It looked so relaxing, and renewing as well. Nice to see that your shower worked out so well. It looks like a really good setup. To Kate, I think you should keep your hair. It is so pretty and feminine looking; it's worth the extra gallon of water. Who knew Joe was a chef; that is great. It looked good! I can see you and Kate are adjusting to your new camper very well.
Thanks - yes it was really peaceful until those damn turkeys woke us up every morning at 5am!
@@Weretherussos LOL! We have'em here in Palm Coast, FL as well. Sadly, they are being driven out by more and more development.
Nice. Thanks for sharing.
I think the key is putting things away promptly so uou know where they are & keep surfaces cleared. Ths stew looks great!
As always, ya never disappoint! Glad to see ya out and about, enjoying the beautiful outdoors! Yay Russos!!
👍🏻👍🏻. We’re getting ready to leave LA (work trip) in a few days and haven’t quite decided where we’re going yet. So exciting!
Thanks Kim! Good luck in figuring out the next spot.
We're the Russos ~ Thanks so much! I think we have it. We’re headed to TN, KY, and GA. 🙌🏻🌲. The mountains are calling and we must go. ♥️
Love the motorcycle Husky dog! :)
Can't wait to get a FWC for my Tacoma, but unfortunately that's still a few years off. I love a class b and I'll still probably go that route when I'm retired and want more space/comfort, but these popup FWC rigs are amazing...well built, light weight, easy to use and they offer all the features you could want, even a shower and toilet in the larger models.
Hey Joe, not too shabby on that rice stew buddy! Me Alegro que Ud ‘sta tratando aprender Español...bien cheveré brode 👍🏼👏🏼
Missed you guys! Have great fun on your adventures! ❤
Thanks Angela!
Damn that dog ride that bike so cool
That shower is so cool. I totally agree with Joe, a "hobo rag bath" keeps me feeling human... I live in a van full time and I mostly just wash my hair and then do a hobo rag bath and I'm 👌 (showers are a blessing though!)
That they are! The rag is nice but shower is where it’s at.
Great vid y'all. Loved the shower. That stew looked delicious Joe!
You must be in the higher elevation in Arizona! Phoenix metro is getting a bit hot. Can't wait till we can get on the road again. PENDING camper build completion
I bought an insta pot based on you all's rec! Great cooker.
👍
Omg....Joe rice stew...I could smell it here...yummy
Love the truck and camper! Enjoy
Thanks Bonnie!
Go the Buzzcut Kait! Looks great on you and low maintenance for the life.
Kait you can try shampooing and conditioner, then rinse. You can get clean with 1 gallon. Love watching you guys, great video 💖
Best "We're the Russos" episode EVER!!!
Thanks Mike!
GOOD FOR YOU. YOU FINALY GOT A SIMPLE RV COFFEE MAKER.
nice camping area
We need a boondocking site near Yosemite. We have been boondocking. For 76 days. First quartzsite then Zion then Bryce Canyon then capital Reef now back to Bryce. I don't need a lesson on dispersed camping. I thought you might have a specific spot near Yosemite.
Check out this post weretherussos.com/free-camping-in-national-forests-dispersed-camping/
Hi Robert, YT has some videos ... search within YT itself using "rv boondocking near yosemite."
There is NO way I would be out making a video without my morning cup of joe,no way!
I had to be physically removed from the camper to do that.
You look and sound like Jason Bateman! Nice Vid
Ha! Thanks
Stew looked really good!😋🍽❤️❤️
Thanks Nita
I am still kind of surprised you went from a Class A through several iterations and landed in a popup truck camper. I have a 27 foot travel trailer, model year 2000 that my wife and I bought in 2001. I am still not looking to trade it off. When we bought it we bought it to use it and not worry about the resale value or anything like that. It seems to be a great compromise between livability and "towability". This has been true both before my wife passed away in 2014 and after. Thank you for showing us how you live in it and even how you shower in it. Question, do you dump your shower water only in a toilet or dump station, or do you also use a storm drain?
Hi W Carl. Sorry for the loss of your wife. It is wonderful that you two had wonderful camping years together. Not constantly buying and selling camping vehicles meant that you had more time to camp and enjoy life. All the best😀.
Like the way u r talking, introducing ur camp life, and the way u 2 r together. Good job on the rice cooking. Never see a white guy does the job so good and seems so easy.
Nice video, VanLifeRocks
Moved from AZ to Atlanta. Want to acquire a 4x4 pop up but there appears to be no dealers here in the SE. Any suggestions. Will be doing road trips all over GA and the SE on roads less traveled with common everyday good folks. Each week a person will ride shotgun and others ride shotgun virtually. This Russo 4x4 would be perfect!
coffee, bacon...mike & 'Sox' ....COOL!!...Enjoy that shower!
I was just near Alpine, AZ near Big Lake. Beautiful up there.
Great Video 👍👍 Boy thats a lot of coffee gear 🤔🤔Stay Safe and Travel On............................😊😊
Yep gotta have my coffee stuff
Nice guys , kinda bummed I won't be trying to track you down at expo west 2020 . I hope our paths cross sometime ~peace~
Yeah it’s sad it won’t be going on but we are going to be going to some of the Adventure Van Expos.
Joe i started making my coffee like you do, it's so much better
Seeeeeee 😉☕️👍
Hair looks good Kate.
Like my daughter's let them take a shower first because they use up all the hot water. Because I noticed you asked her to turn the temperature down. Just picking on you.
NEAT INDOOR SHOWER.
Coffee Coffee Coffee storage storage storage ♡♡♡♡♡ great videos
Mmmm coffee...
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Very happy to see you.
It’s good to see the two of you on the road traveling and camping again. I really enjoyed seeing how the shower worked out for you. I was surprised to see that it was that easy. Does it take long for the curtain to dry? Just wondering. Looking forward to more content this summer! Also, hoping we will be busy ourselves doing some kind of camping.
Fabulous insider's look into overlanding living at its best. I'd like someday to be able to do the same. I understand it took alot of time, research, energy and $ to formulate this workable combination of gear and heavy duty vehicle, but it seems to be coming together. Now its time to relax and allow the equipment assist your way of life come together. Awesome sauce in many people's book, , 😍
Inspiring to see more and more self sufficient boondockin. The closest way to get in nature and still enjoy creature comforts. Going to ask the obvious but where do you use the potty? Is it the ol dig and dump routine because that seems counter to what you set up. Why didn't you go for some type of modern toilet that recycles?
So Joe can cook, Good job!!!
Thanks!
Ive seen Michael and Sox on The Dodo, Now thats a good boy :)
I got notified for this one!
Woo!! Thanks for letting us know.
I was notified too! Also - we're heading up to Yosemite later this month! Managed to get a day pass good for 7 days. Staying outside the park 30 minutes east of Tuolumne Meadows.
think it woulda been kosher to let the shower water dump straight to ground out in the nat forest..
I'm not convinced that you guys are happily living full time in what is basically a tent.
Nice!
nice video .
AHHHH, YOU HAVE THE ONE QUART PER HOUR BURKEY. PERFECT FOR A SMALL RV. ON AMAZON, IT COMES WITH SEVERAL OTHER FILTER DO DA'S. HOW DO YOU LIKE IT???
What’s a Berkey?
Nice video! Can you tell us what is that flexible container you used to collect the gray water please?
Loved your video and the truck camper. How has it been for you with having to get in and out of the truck and camper to access rather than what you had in the van? I've been looking at the Host truck campers (possibly next year) as I just want more space and my friend has one and it feels like a small apartment. I tend to stay in one place for a couple of weeks now. Sorry I missed you in Bryce. I hope to catch up with you soon.
We don’t really mind but we’re finding it has more and more advantages the longer we have it. One, you don’t have the heat build up from the front windows (since it all stays in the cab) and the other is you don’t have to listen to everything in the camper rattling around!
Don't try to tell me that you didn't put coffee in the stew Joe.
I may have slipped some in...
WTR, HELLO, nice rose you on the road again, I forgot what you ELC STYSTM works, as you do not use propane, , doe asked you about COVID virus, but no problem here , we been home fo at least 16 years only leave when , need to , Cheers From NJ, 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi! I am sure you mentioned it in a previous video but i would like to know what is the MPG you do with your rig? Thanks!
14 highway, 12 in the mountains.
Love the video!! Nice work, you two. Where to now?? Also, how long would your food and water last in a place like that? 1 week?
We typically have about 60-90 days of food. The water will last a few weeks if we’re not showering.
I really enjoy your videos. One question --- When you're out boondocking in remote areas with just the two of you, especially over several days .... what do you do to fill the time? (Besides making and editing your videos.) After a while it can become boring. Hiking and reading only fill part of the day. Thanks!
Work, relax, work, eat, hike, hang out with friends who visit. No different than hanging around the house. If we get bored we pack up and go into town
Beautiful
