Hi. Thanks for the beautiful views of our wild country n taking us along for ya'll s triumphs (seeing wolves) n tribulations ( not seeing grizzles, not camping near Yellowstone but a glorious Wal-Mart). Peace to you and yours
Your first stop in the video is called Grizzly Overlook, a great spot for bear and wolf watching. Where you stopped for lunch is where I saw Raspberry and her cub of the year in early August at dusk. Looks like you hit up some great spots for grizzly watching! Watching the rest of the video now!
No bear/ No bear around/ Covered a lot of ground/ From park to town/ With Wal Mart parking lot sounds/ Generators crying in the night/ Yet no bears in sight/ New adventures to unfold/ New tales to be told/
Awwww! Sorry that you didn't get to see any grizzly bears but I'm thankful for what you did see and that we got to see it right along with you! Where to next? Take care and God bless you!
After a week at glacier we did the black hills for 2 weeks then Theodore Roosevelt park. Saw coyotes there. Headed to fort Abraham Lincoln state park for a week. Life is good.
Every time I take an assignment out west, I always take the route through yellowstone. I want to live there. The first 4 times no bear but all the other animals including foxes. Finally on my way out to west yellowstone, there was the bear running on the tree line at dusk. I was thrilled.
When in popular parks early risers have the park to themselves until around 10AM. I generally rise at 4AM and drive to a point where I'm going to spend the day and then have breakfast.
I stayed at Big Game BLM campground between Cody and yellowstone last summer on my motorcycle trip.... awesome campground and scenery. Better luck next time
We were in Yellowstone in mid June and we never saw bear or wolf’s but we did see moose, bison, swans, elk, grey fox and a wolverine. The last two were in the Tetons.
Makes me feel better that I’m not the only ridiculous coffee snob! Even used to bring my cappuccino maker tent camping and used whatever electricity I could find each morning. Much easier in the class B now!
If you get there and the campgrounds are full, make sure you stop and ask if they have any cancellations, etc. I managed to get a nice spot not far from the lake at a discounted price that way.
WTR, Hello, Just seeing the YELLOWSTONE episode, nice clear weather, we stopped using WHITE COFFEE FILTERS over 40 years, we went to unbleached brown ones, , then metal. The bleaching process creates a component of AGENT ORANGE , I think they may still are cleaning up the site in NJ,,, HAPPY TRAILS, cheers 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
When you can, go to Glacier. Went with friends a few years ago and was awe struck. Better than I imagined. Find a place to hear about the park and especially the glaciers. Trails are everywhere. Happy Trails!
Time of year makes a huge difference on animal sitings. We went in later September and stayed at Tower Falls. From our campsite we heard coyotes at night, elk very early and wolves a bit later in the wee hours every day. A wolf ran in front of our car. A coyote walked toward us. A grizzly mama and 3 babies walked in front of our car across the main road. We saw a black bear on the side of the road, and a red fox (likely the same one) three days in a row in a field of flowers. It's also way less crowded in September (although maybe not this year...).
I use to own a cabin about 25 minutes from the West entrance to Yellowstone,I have been to Yellowstone more times than I can even remember. The best time of year to see Griz is May. I have seen some in September, but more in May. The best places, the road between Mammoth and Roosevelt, Lamar Valley and Hayden Valley.
@@Weretherussos Due to my proximity to Yellowstone, it has really been an advantage for me to go into the Park. I have avoided the primary summer season for years now. I tried to upland a picture I took of one Grizzly I saw. Pretty graphic of it asleep by a carcass of what I think is an elk. I took that picture in early May. The older animals weakened by winter are more susceptible to Grizzly attacks, not anywhere near the number of people in the park so the bears can be seen closer to the roads.
Oh I'm so sorry you didn't get to see your Grizzly. Enjoyed the scenery and love the truck all set up with the pop out and the awning out. It's so nice. Coffee lover here too, obviously, lol. I'm not a business but just having fun. Ya'll be safe.
We were just there in July and found a grizzly tearing an elk carcass up. We didn’t find them we found the crowd but was able to pull over and get some good shots.
When we went we saw a grizzly eating berries about 40 yards off the road . It was this time of year. Location was between Cody and entrance to Yellowstone.
Been the, done that!!! We've struck out on grizzlies on two trips to Yellowstone and Tetons but we've been lucky to have wolves put on a show for us. We finally found grizzlies in Alaska. Stick with it and you'll eventually run across them. Stay safe.
I was in Yellowstone too about two weeks ago. Lots of bison, but no other big animals. It was a bit disappointing. The place is beautiful though. Right now am I at the Arches National Park. Really special!
Lucked out and saw some grizzlies in Denali, along with a bunch of Dahl sheep. Got the major sore butt riding the big green former school bus. In our family, when we were kids, we used to say that a grizzly bear was a bear that just crawled out of a waffle iron. Being the youngest, I don't know where that originated... but you might want to take a waffle iron along on your next visit to Yellowstone, if nothing else, you can have a tasty breakfast!
I’ll be heading into W Yellowstone from Big Sky tomorrow. Hope to see some Bison. F seeing bears, we ran into a bear in Jackson Hole on a mountain bike trail last Saturday. A ranger told us see saw 3 grizzlies on the road near Jenny Lake.
Great video. Those Bison are beautiful, and are one of my fave animals to see up close! I personally have yet to see a Grizzly Bear in the wild, but I do know that if they feel that there are too many humans in their vicinity, they make themselves less visible! Cheers you “three” #GoTeamRusso
I enjoyed this video not that one of those over glossed video. I want reality not just beautiful moments. This is how a travel video should be done, if it happens it happens plus I love learning about how you go about caravan life eg cooking etc ,this shows what really happens when camping. Thank you Russos regards Paul :)
Sorry about your camping situation. To bad it didn’t work out. I might have stayed at the pop up site. I think that’s more of a tent or pop up travel trailer issue. Your pop up is at least 7’ from the ground.
We go watch the wolves run elk in Hayden valley. They are there all the time. Amazing. Grizzlies will come out and take the kill from the wolves when they get one.
My very first night in Yellowstone, years ago, I found a spot for my pop up TC at Lewis lake. Paid my fee and posted my receipt, then drove up to west thumb. When I got back a tent camping family had MOVED MY RECEIPT and occupied my site. I was NOT a happy camper. It happens, but you were good enough to do the right thing! On subsequent trips I found bears, including my first grizzly, on the NE side, around Slough creek and Tower. I have seen people literally sit for HOURS to see grizz...BTW, my first grizzly? I almost hit him when he darted in front of me near tower!
Have you guys heard of Tippet Rise? Put it on your bucket list if you haven’t. I think they’re closed this season, sadly, but maybe they’ll be open again next year. Awesome sculpture park and chamber music hall in the foothills of the Beartooth Mtns. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience.
Thank you for another great video. If you ever see a orange Jeep Patriot with Missouri Tags in a camp site, you are welcome to share it with us. We never use all the parking will this rig ;). Safe travels.
WTR, HELLO, thanks for the trip, very nice scenery, so maybe , next time elsewhere you’ll see breer grizerly ! Happy trails to you both ! Cheers 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
We were just at Grand Teton and saw grizzlies three times just west of Oxbow Bend. I'd give it a try since you are so close! We also saw one at Togwotee Pass and watched it eat for about 15 minutes.
I alwsys enjoy your videos! Your respect for one another makes it easy to remain subscribed. Beautiful photography and dialog is part of the package as is bbn the lack of whining when camping spots are elusive, something breaks or Grizzlies don't appear. Balance in life can be difficult to achieve, but you both mostly seem to recognize that the good outweighs the bad. Happy travels. BTW I enjoyed my morning coffee with you. Cheers.
I went there a couple years back. As I was coming in one of the entrances there was a bear off the side of the road that everyone was pulled over and looking at. I kept going since I figured there must be a lot of animals to see further in. That bear turned out to be the only animal (other than birds) that I ended up seeing.
You barely missed some grizzlies! We stayed in Cody July 30 and saw one right by the side of the road at eaaarly sunrise on 7/31 and we saw a mom and her cub at sunset 8/1 in the same area. 😔 Maybe next time you’re there, you can see them. Try and hit up Lamar valley early am as well. Or ask around to where there is a visible carcass.
I live near the park and drive through Yellowstone to snowmobile in cooke city all the time and often see Grizzlies. I think they sense people who really want to see them vs those who dont really care either way.
Thank you for creating all of your excellent content. I would add two comments: Have you asked a Park Ranger whether the "pop up" category really applies to you? I also stayed outside of West Yellowstone at a place called Bakers Hole campground. It was ok. I made a few videos as well but they are not as well done as yours. I look forward to watching ,ore of your videos and hopefully I will be able to hit the road again in 2021. Good luck!

“This tunnel looks the same...”. Hopefully it didn’t look exactly the same. It should have looked the same, only in reverse. 😂😀😂😀. You have to be patient with the bears. Still love watching you guys get out and explore. We are looking to get a Travato KL NPE. So while not overland, we can off grid camp which is what we like.
too bad you didn't see a grizzly but anytime you see wolves, it's a special day 😎. i'm no expert but i've heard bear sightings are more plentiful in the spring....and fall, but especially the spring. also, personally, i've had good luck in Lamar Valley. enjoy your videos very much!
Enjoyed seeing your visit to Yellowstone. So awesome that you saw wolves! We never saw grizzlies or wolves although the ranger in the campground where we stayed said that they were monitoring a female grizzly and her cub who sometimes visit...never saw it. We have a Four Wheel Grandby and love it but... Four Wheel camper questions: We hate our mattress and wonder if you changed yours. If so what did you do? We have the arctic pack for insulation. What do you do about moisture inside? We keep the vents cracked at night but still have to wipe the moisture buildup in the morning. I noticed that you covered you roof vents. What did you use? Thank we enjoy your videos.
We were in Yellowstone the week after you. Bummer about the campgrounds, but it's a beautiful park. We saw grizzlies in the Tom Miner Basin just north of Gardiner. Safe travels
Next time try Lamar valley. I've seen them at the LeHardy Rapids, Hayden, up the middle road from Canyon, on the way over the mountain to Roosevelt, Lamar Valley and there was one outside our cabin one night in Canyon. Some years are great and others are a slight disappointment. Especially when you previously had a great year of sightings. Some people never see a bear. How about trying the Teton area too? I try to talk to as many people as possible to see where they are seeing animals. If you were a bear, where in Yellowstone would you be? Away from the people. They keep adding hotels in the center of the park which I think pushes animals to the outer boundaries some. They should build on the edges of the park and leave the center for the animals.
Why would you do this? If if it’s brown, lay down! Meaning if you encounter a grisly play dead and hope you survive. Next you’ll go hunting for polar bears- if it’s white, good night!

They should build on the edges of the park and leave the center for the animals.
the rig looks great ah the trials of rv ing we need propane safe travels
cooke city dump usually has bears.
Great video.
Another great video!
Joe: “I think we may have to call it. What do you think, babe?"
Kait turns around. She’s a grizzly bear. Cut to black.
Why would you do this? If if it’s brown, lay down! Meaning if you encounter a grisly play dead and hope you survive. Next you’ll go hunting for polar bears- if it’s white, good night!
You should of started cooking your breakfast then they would come in. 👍🇺🇸
