Paris was so on the ball of thinking ahead for the Olympics to use the bits of iron from the Eiffel Tower! Nobody will ever have another like that! Bravo, Paris@❤
Why is everyone complaining about the medal only having 6 grams of gold? Did anyone forget the other prizes aside from the medal? Its not about how expensive the medal is but the effort and hard-work you put into it.
Wow, that’s a great idea to have pieces of the Eiffel tower. They should do that with every Olympic medal. So the people that win have a piece from that country or landmark!
Being pur gold would certainly NOT cause the athletes to struggle to wear them. They would wiegh about twice as much. Olympic gold just keeps shaving off more and more gold... and of course they could absolutely afford to cast them in pure gold. They choose not to. Also why they actually added IRON? 😂😂😂
They should be 100% considering how little they pay these athletes. It's disgusting. Billions in revenue, and they pay the athletes an extremely small %.
The last time the winners were awarded with solid gold medal was more thsn 100 years ago. Not only it's heavier, it's more expensive, much more than what we thought and it doesn't hold its shape that well
Realistically, I don't think many Olympic athletes would sell their medals, so the monetary value of the medal wouldn't be THAT important. I do agree with them not being paid enough, but my point is the argument should really be increasing their salaries instead of making a more expensive medal.
What a stupid comment. The medal itself is not meant to have much monetary value. Isn’t it incredible enough they went through the process of putting in a piece of the Eiffel Tower in the medals already?
I do believe they should pay the athletes much more money for their hard work. However, it would put the athletes in a tough spot if the medals were solid gold. They would always be tempted to sell their beautiful medals they earned (to be melted down), instead of cherish them. Also, it could make them a target for theft. Not good to give them an item worth tens of thousands of dollars and then expect them to hang on to it for their entire lives. Currently a solid gold medal would be worth just over $41,000. Lastly, it would totally screw up sportsmanship. Athletes would be much more pissed and let down when winning a silver medal (valued at $900) vs a gold medal. In some countries that could be life changing money, meaning the non-gold medalists will garner much more resentment towards the winners and possibly become depressed after the games.
love that it has little bits of the eiffel tower in it !
hi
Hello youtube
WHAT HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS😭
a youtube comment on a video with 1.4k likes, god damn
wow
On paper they got gold. In realism mode, they was all fighting for silver
Deep
That's less than 8k gold HELL NAA! at least 14k..
which means that iron in the middle of the medal will probably rust sooner right?
6 grams of gold?? That can’t be right 😂😂
They can print billions of dollars out of thin air and yet they can only give six grams of gold for an Olympic gold medalist? Pathetic!
Well that’s exactly why they can only give so much gold …cause they print the shit out that paper that’s backed by that very gold 😂
@@EduardoEliasCanelaLol that was like 50 years ago, they just add one's and zero to the computer foo
@@roseroselyne9045 that my point lmao
Well, for all the gold medals that have been earned this year, it's about 1902 grammes of pure gold soooo......
6 grams of gold??!?!? Countries spend millions of dollars to send their athletes for 6 grams of gold! Just buy the dam gold. lol
OMG, my 10gram 24k gold coin have more gold than the metal. Seriously?!
Great channel. Good information. Subscribed🙌🔥

That is very symbolic and good way to upcycle Effiel Tower's metal.
they should make emerald medal, gold medal (90% gold), and diamond medal
Yeah.... Rather call it a way to save money
Yoinking out a tonne of silver in exchange for for old azzz rusted iron🗿

They ripping us off all that hard work and the 🥇 is not fully gold 🤦🏾♂️
It's not been pure gold since 1912 though. Nothing new
They also weren't sealed so they all oxidize after wearing, handling, or exposing them to the elements.
Finally Big Suge responded 😂😁🍻
I don’t wanna go on the Eiffel Tower
Looks like the silver medal is the real winner
Plated ! That’s just wack
Olympic committee is so cheap. The medals are basically vermeil where it’s gold plated sterling silver.
If cant afford for gold medal, dont organize it. The atheletes work their entire life for it. They deserve a pure gold medal.
GOLD MEDAL ISN'T REALLY MADE OF GOLD. IT IS MADE OF SWEAT, DETERMINATION AND A HARD TO FIND ALLOY CALLED GUTS !!
❤❤❤❤❤

Its the very reason that winners become superstars. And the spirit of sports will be overshadowed if theres too much prize money.
@@Sunny-y9k7w no.
After a few years it doesn't worth nothing just a metal.
I hope it is at least 1mm of gold plate. It would be embarrassing for the gold to wear out in a few years and look like a silver medal.
seems like a ripoff to the athletes
How?
You know how. 🤕🤕🤕

French medal makers should have accepted technical assistance from Japan
It is better to win a silver medal in Olympics..bcoz it was pure silver..
And the bronze medals rust due to having iron in it. Womp womp
Should be pure gold
Why isn’t the gold medal gold?
Too expensive and too heavy for nothing. The gold medal is a symbolic reward, not just a mass of precious metal you can resell afterward.
@@rolletroll2338 Lol well why call it a gold medal?
@@GODfaV this is symbolic. Yeah that's very complex.
