My cousin works for Microsoft in its Seattle office 5 days a week, 8 hours daily. They promote work-life balance - we all know how profitable Microsoft is.
Having worked in the US for about 14 years and India for 12, i would say the comparison is between apples and oranges. The work life balance in the USA is world's apart from that in India. People here have no sense of quality work at all. They are still the stereotyped managers who believe in quantity by working long hours with all gossip going on during the work hours.
Even though we lost Ratan, I think Mr Anand is now the only one standing who can replace that gap and emptiness. He is a class apart. Blessings and wishes for a long life.

My father just resigned mahindra home finance due to heavy work load he was working literally from 9AM to 10PM and sometimes 11PM, even on Sundays. There are theories on the upper level only like QWL is important and blah blah but the lower levels are in other hands and they just want to get their work done. The top leaderships should be in regular touch with lower levels and should tell them to follow their ideology what company wants. I have huge respect for Anand Mahindra sir

How can this managers talk of 70 hour and 90 hour? It is not a crime? Where is the ILO? The authorities are suppose to call the HR of this managers? This is job of the HR and not the top bosses as they are incompetent.
I get you but understand the social debate too no real balance is possible in 21 st century why will u not care about others in the economy ?
Work should be only for 6 hours a day and 5 days a week. In the company there should be 4 shifts of 6 hours each. In this way work would be continuously going on and also many people would get jobs as unemployment problem has become much in our country.
