Bro, its ur old friend lol. The ice dice or aka Stan or 1manstudio guy. It looks like ur gone for me on discord. I have a sort of a giant problem in my unreal that I don't know how I got it. Like... It's legit messing with my head. Idk if it's something in the project setting I messed up or somewhere else. And here is the problem: Every time I try to sculpt or manipulate the landscape just a tiny bit or not even a tiny. Just anything in the sculpt mode, my fps drops to 5fps like wtf. I can't do anything to my world, it just lags the hell out of it. And it's also using a ton of cpu power. Imma drop my discord here in case u know how to help. Cause u might need to see stuff idk. Ugh... Please help 🥺 StanWildin#3874
This is one of the best brief lighting tut... i am still looking for a one with more information and examples, but this one did the trick for me! Thank you!
Can you do tutorial on how to add Wall Run, Dodging, Multi-jump, Landing Assist, and climbing ledges like Assassin Creed games? maybe add the code to the existing 3rd person or even First person template? im sure other people would be interested in this as well. great tuts! .
Thanks for this info, it’s very helpful. What CPU and GPU do you use? Everything looks like it’s running smoothly and I want to make a good choice on CPU and GPU for my upcoming build. Thanks for any advice😀
Nitrogen thank you so much! I’ve been trying to see what card and cpu to get. Now I can see that there’s a range of CPUs and gpus I can get that will work. Thanks again and look forward to the next video!
post process volumes do not respond to priority in 4.26. I have an unbound post process and another one with a higher priority, but the unbound one still shows up.
Really great tutorials, my only comment suggestion is.. please slow down just a little. you talk so fast haha im was scrambling for the pause button every time I was trying to match the settings in my scene XD
Looking back on it, now that I no longer make Unreal-related content or tutorials per se (instead I create video essays now), I really did talk fast haha.
for some reason this setup makes my scene completely dark, in the preview / editor it looks good, however when I test play the game the entire environment is without the light source and completely dark, any fix for that? but great tutorial, Thank you!
It's quite hard to tell what's going on without seeing your entire setup, but I would check if the camera is not stuck in another mesh and if the problem happens in that level alone. It might also be helpful to rebuild the lighting from zero.
What do you mean by doing culling all at once or one at a time? The number of tiles you have shouldn't really influence how culling behaves, because you want to cull the grass (therefore adjust the culling settings on in the foliage panel), not the landscape.
@@NitrogenDev Thanks I am a newbie and this is way out of my knowledge base I dont have the grass in the foliage panel under foliage tab mine is in the detail panel and was looking there is no way that I could see to adjusted the culling setting unless there is doc or videos I thing I bite of more them I can chew maybe should leave this kind of open world game to the pros I just single dev can not make openworld games not enough people but thanks for all the help maybe single dev stick with very tiny games we can not match the AAA game dev
Please Please would like to see a video on how to optimize landscape for better frame rate I only ask I have a large open world map for my survival game its 16 tiles but its only get about 45+ or - frame rate that is only when i have the camera looking down same when in play mode when I look straight my frame rate drops to 5 not sure if its a lod setting or streaming setting Have no idea is there any way that you can do a video or let me know if there is doc or other videos on this and thanks
The landscape alone shouldn't cause much lag. Do you have a large amount of grass and trees? If that's the case and you want to keep it, you should play around with culling. Culling will hide the grass and trees if they're far away. You can also adjust how far the meshes have to be to get culled.
@@NitrogenDev Hey thanks saw a small video looks great but will this also work for my large mountains in the far distant or is that streaming with fog layer??? hope i said that right also thanks I did not know what the word that i was looking for
@@Restart-Gaming Yes, it should work even far away, but it might get masked by exponential height fog unless you adjust its height to max out at a certain distance from the ground.
Can someone tell me plz, unreal engine 4 will be faster if I use ssd or not? I have hdd and 32 gb ram but I think my pc still work wery slow, when I try import big size assets and 4 k textures. I don't know maybe it's hdd problem or cpu I have only 4 core
Using an SSD for your Unreal Engine versions and projects is going to help, but not much with big assets and 4K textures. Those contain A LOT of information to be imported, so there's not much you can do hardware-wise to improve importing times.

One of the best tutorials I’ve come across, a good pace and love the use of the comparison pictures. Keep it up 👍🏻
Thank you, I really appreciate it! :D
i have been using post processing milion times.. but there is always something new i see
Nice! Quality content! Consistent explanations! Pretty technical, but to the point! Well done!
Thank you!
I'm so happy I stumbled upon your channel! Bless you my friend and may you never stop providing us with free educational content!
Thanks for the kind words!
Oh this is so helpful for my project since I'm still a beginner, thanks for the tutorial!! ^-^
No problem!
Oh man I hope he doesn't stop making videos! Amazing videos!
I don't have any plans to stop and hopefully I will have more time for videos soon as summer is very close.
Thank you so much for this excellently designed and informative video!! Clear, concise, to the point. you saved me!
VERY good tut. Congrats and thank you!!!
This helped me set up my scene, thanks for the great tutorial
That's good to hear, I hope you achieved what you were aiming for!
@@NitrogenDev I did, thanks
Great tutorial, thanks.
In case someone needs it 👇🏽
Scene 1 - 00:40
Scene 2 - 4:54
Scene 3 - 6:49
really nice tutorials!
Glad you like them!
Yesss ,
I needed this !!
Thanks N ♥ !
Happy to hear that!
great informative video thanks alot
You are really awesome man 🧡
You are! :)
Very useful tutorial 👍 . can you make detailed video on Localized post-process effect in UE4?
Would you mind explaining what you mean by localized?
@@NitrogenDev I think they mean certain post processing effects in confined areas, like underwater
Hey thx for tutorial, I was searching this for long time. Would you be able to make one like Kena the bridge of spirites😊
Oh yeah man this is Nice Tutorial ! Thanks !
Thanks as well! :D
Thanks m8 just what I needed
Glad it's useful! :D
Thank you so much
Thx! Very very good! I love it!
Nice and easy!
Then my intention was achieved.
thank you a lot!
Thank you. But do you know where 'screen percentage' has gone in UE5?
Gotta love how you shortened your post process volume into "pp"
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
5:05 Nice trees, where did you got those?
They're from the Procedural Landscape Ecosystem pack on the marketplace: www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/procedural-landscape-ecosystem
loved it

a tutorial on accurate light shaft with volumetric fog please

Could you possibly do a tutorial on how to create an ocean shader? Thanks!
I would do one, but I'm not very well-versed with shaders.

Could you possibly do a tutorial on the valorent agent viper and her toxic screen ability?
Actually I've been meaning to make some Valorant videos as I just got my hands on the game, so I might do that soon.
Hey, did you found a method to replace the Depth of field effect from your previous video on post process ?
Yes, through cine camera, which allow for very precise focus settings.
@@NitrogenDev Is it usable for a game? Basically I want this effect only under water
@@angrybonobro8711 yeah, it probably is more than fine in a game.

How can I make my scene grayscale?
Just turn the global saturation from 1 to 0 and it will all be grayscale.
Did you skip DEPTH of FIELD??
I'm pretty sure I mentioned at some point that for depth of field I use the lens settings of the cine camera as that offers more control over it.

Using an SSD for your Unreal Engine versions and projects is going to help, but not much with big assets and 4K textures. Those contain A LOT of information to be imported, so there's not much you can do hardware-wise to improve importing times.
