So knowing that you are smart enough to stay out the comments section of any thread....here are my thoughts.
My self and a good mate are developing a range of ADV lite products for the 690 anf the 500... so knowing what it takes to bring something to market ( 500 hours of dev time into a adv nav tower, 200 hours of marketing and 500 hours of product testing before launching..) and how much risk Kove is putting in to something the team believes in so much I wish Kove all the best! What you will get as the customer version to what you rode in Feb will be better. From following the Kove brand and his passion to what he is sendkng out it will be awesome. You are the kind of guy that will reach out to Kove before slating any small niggles that will indeed crop up in the first customers batch so Kove are lucky to have you as a first customer!

I'm also one of the 16 to use your promo code, and I am really looking forward to the bike's arrival. They already arrived in the UK and the gentleman from the PEAK motorcycle channel has done several informative videos on his bike. Based on his initial impressions, I think we all should be pleased with the Kove 450 Rally. Thank you for your insight - I look forward to your review when you get a chance to ride the production model. I was tempted by the steering damper that you bought, and hope it works out for you. If so, I'll again follow your lead.

Thanks for taking a risk on our behalf. I agree with you: RM ATV MC carrying OEM parts and making their own speaks volumes. I hope this is a huge HUGE success and the big 3 finally take note that this is the bike we’ve all been asking for. We don’t want anymore 400+ lb. ADV pigs. We want a true, modern dual sport with a large fuel tank, 6 speeds, FI and not overkill on the electronics. Seems like they’ve really hit the mark. Maybe people will finally stop buying the dinosaur that is the DRZ400.

The real test will be in 15+ years when you need the hard to obtain parts on any bike. Body panels, fuel tanks and other unique parts. That's the biggest hurdle with older Japanese bikes when trying to restore them for use.

I adore this class of bike. Your review of the Kove 450 Rally shows it to be the real deal. The engine sounds spot on and the way it covers ground proves it easily handles the rough stuff. I can't wait for you to get your bike to see how it compares to the demo you reviewed. Thank you so much for doing all that hard work. It was a pleasure seeing you having so much fun riding it. Do you get your commission with the UK importer GPX? UK price is £8,500 deposit is £1,000.
I used to have a Cagiva Elefant 900ie which was amazing but a little too big for me to pick up more than a couple of times in one day. I have been looking at all the adventure bikes but disappointed that they are too big and heavy. So this Kove FSE 450 Rally is of GREAT interest. I'll let you know if I get one. 😀

THE USE OF THIS MOTORCYCLE SHOULD BE LIMITED TO PARTICIPATION IN SANCTIONED COMPETITION EVENTS UPON A CLOSED COURSE AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR GENERAL OFF-ROAD RECREATIONAL RIDING. …I have no idea where I’ll ride it as we don’t have endless terrain over here to head off into, and I’m no expert rider, total newbie really. But every year I’m lucky enough to ride off-road out in Fuerteventura (amazing place to ride) and I love it.
The Kove 450’s dual sport versatility will hopefully mean I can take it into Europe with some luggage on, and explore places that my 1290 SAS would never venture. Now the next question is, do I replace the SAS with a 1290 ADV R or a Desert X.??????? 🤔🙂. Thanks again, Ed

Seems odd that Honda with all their r&d budget can't build a 50 hp 450 with a 2000 mile oil change interval but Kove can? don't get me wrong I'm not a hater and I'm rooting for this thing to be legit. I bought myself a CFMoto 800 touring here in Australia.
Absolutely crazy value for money. Went for a ride with a mate on a GS1250, they are a great bike, but the CF has pretty much all the same fruit for literally half the price, we rode for a full day and not once did I feel I was on an inferior machine, other than the power difference obviously.
If the Kove 450 Rally is as good as my CFMoto, the Austrians and Japanese really need to be ready. There is going to be a major shift very soon in the motorcycle world.

There is no way this isn’t a bot comment straight from Kove headquarters. You sold a touring adv bike to get a 450 single cylinder? This is insane lol. They are completely different types of motorcycles. Why did you buy the GSA in the first place if you wanted a dirtbike?

I guess it does reflect on my sanity that I allowed myself to be convinced that bigger is better. The fact is I needed something that can do the miles between fill ups, and the GSA was perfect in that sense . Although it is also very capable offroad, I quickly found out that I am not. I needed something lighter, but with similar fuel capcity. I am very excited about the Kove and have no hangups about taking a punt at something new. I do honestly believe that this introduction price is not sustainable. If it was surely we would have seen this package from other manufacturers?

@@francoisbester9992 a light bike is just way more fun in the dirt. The Kove seems to hit the Leatherman spot. It isn't brilliant at anything, but if you have just one tool, the Leatherman is a pretty good choice. I got there with a 701 which is still too heavy for my limited talent in really rough stuff, but beats the Fe350 to a pulp on tarmac or fast roads.

I've had a pro on order since May, initially I was excited but I've become more and more leery of this bike as an alternative to my 500 for rally racing, YMMV this is very personal opinion. Initially Sonora rally (my goal) had changed to FIM requirements and it all looked like they would do away with the national class my 500 is legal for in following years, which means I needed a bike that was at least rally 3 compliant. With Sonora no longer being FIM I can ride my 500.... strike 1. The constant delays have been another big thing, I wanted this bike for the fall races.... even though I thought I was an early order my bike is slated for the THIRD batch in October sometime (initially told june).... too late for fall... and whos to say there won't be another delay.... strike 2. The next thing that is irking me is the misinformation. I have people weighing bikes at 320lbs, 380lbs, I have people saying the next gen bike is 20kg lighter and making more HP and that will be out on consumer market next summer. I have you saying all parts are cross compatible between bikes like the rally tower, yet Gary fervently says its not (I could save a ton of money if I bought the standard/rally, the exhaust, and the tower). Also Jimmy Lewis' review talking about long term parts durability is not real great. I can't have suspension issues especially on something that Gary had tuned, bolts wearing out after a few uses and as for aftermarket support its all getting imported from a sole importer currently, where do you get top ends, spares, valves, all the things that are wear items, what is the timeframe on those parts, is the bike going to sit for a month because a bolt wore out after needing to be turned a few times, gary has said he would have those things but the current delays make this very concerning... Strike three.... and icing on the cake, the bikes at Sonora had issues, neels had to put a hinson in the bike just to make it rideable and mike had major issues, and some people are saying that the rear tank was getting vapor locked meaning they only effectively had 4 gals of fuel (I know that both of those issues are fixed, but they had three months to work on this after Dakar soooo wtf). There is a pro version here in the us that has already been through 2 hands at least, maybe three(?) in less than 6 months, maybe the owners bought them for a few races, beat the hell out the bike and moved on, or maybe there is something else going on... its too early to know. If a big vendor made something even vaguely like this, say KTM tossed its rfr tanks and a cheap tower on its XCF-W 450 and sold it for sub $20k usd, nobody would even bat an eye at this bike.

The other manufacturers don't seem to understand dual sport. They keep making bikes with MX tanks, seats and service intervals. If this bike had a bigger Fisher type seat and passenger pegs I'd say it was pretty close to the perfect design. As for the argument of Chinese vs Japanese quality, where is a comparable offering from a different manufacturer? I don't mean on price, I mean name a comparable design that's available? The other manufacturers have missed the boat here and it appears the modern dual sport that we all hoped the KLR or DRZ re-design would be has arrived.
