The Riverwalk has changed since I visited it in 1983 when I was stationed at Ft.Sam in San Antonio.I the remember going to Bars on the Riverwalk with my Friend Eddie Villanueva. We lost touch after we left Fort Sam.I sure wish I could find him again.

Yeah the Guenther area is pretty beautiful. Definitely feels like you're in a different time and place when there. The King Williams District even feels like you've walked into another city. Almost otherworldy. I'm from SA btw
From my understanding, there's more to the Alamo than that one building. You can never forget that the place was once a mission that became a military fortress which in turn was a rallying cry for Texas independence from Mexico. There are reasons that it is a popular tourist destination in SA.
it’s so nice to see many people saying that they can’t wait to come to san antonio. i never thought a lot of people wanted to come but it makes me happy that a lot of people enjoy it
The Pearl Brewery, The Rim, The strip on St Mary’s are excellent places to go to. I’d avoid the restaurants on the river walk and highly suggest using Yelp to find places to eat. Also I’d suggest checking out Central Market on Broadway.
I’m from SA, and you did well for giving a brief look at part of downtown. There is more to see and do like Dick’s last resort, Hard Rock Cafe, etc.. Good job though
It’s so odd seeing people who don’t live here saying go because it’s so cool, but I’ve lived here all my life and we rarely go just because it’s so normal.
It’s like that most of the places. You take stuff for granted. When you are from San Antonio you dream of traveling to other places, and when you are not from San Antonio you dream about going to San Antonio. It’s actually very common.. Been all over the world and people always say that when you visit their city
Always enjoy my visits to the Alamo City, live close to Houston and I 'm sorry but Houston just does not have the same vibe of beautiful San Antonio!!!!!
Bro the Alamo is huge what are you talking about 5 minutes to see lol. I'm a local and it's a entire fortress. You also forget they do ghost tours there. You didn't mention the San antonio missions either. Also how do you not go to market square or one of the most famous restaurants here MI terria.
3 quick things if you're visiting here. 1.) You can see The Alamo in 15 minutes. 2.) All the good fun and great times are outside downtown. 3.) Don't come here in the Summer! Even the Devil is looking for central air conditioning in July.

I worked at Bubba Gump for the grand opening. Left because after a month or so they started drastically cutting everyone's hours. Plus we had 2 weeks of trainers all over the restaurant, it was hectic. Idk if you were there yet I don't recognize you.
One of the other best things for the river walk is to get the water taxi daily pass. Let’s you enjoy the day a little more with less effort, but the river walk is one of the best attractions I’ve been to from both a historical (as it was built for the worlds fair), and architectural perspective. It’s also best to see what conventions the convention centre has as well as it can also justify going more frequently. Also worth a day trip to Austin if staying for a week.
As a native to SA please (and I can’t stress this enough) stop leaving the damn scooters in the middle of the sidewalk. also be aware there is a lot of diversity, but mostly Hispanics. Also handle your kids cause oh my god.
We just went 3 weeks ago ,Its been 14 years since my last list visit. Summer Saturday night life is crazy fun down there it was super packed at the riverwalk but it was ok had no problem going through the crowds. We ate at Republic of Texas Restaurant on the Riverwalk at 12am they serve food till 2am on weekends .Sea World Summer Firework show was amazing such a beautiful peaceful park.We will be back soon..Nice to see you made a review for San Antonio its a different experience. But living in DFW Texas we have way more to do up here.Riverwalk and Seaworld is the only reason we visit San Antonio...
Thanks for the tour of the River Walk, I have been wanting to go there for a long time. Always raining? MmKay, you must have been here at the time of year when we get all our rain at once. The rest of the year is pretty dry and 🌞 sunny... Humid? Well S.A.
