All these memories from Donna Summer. I purchased everything that came on on the first day of release. I've followed her since 1977 and haven't stopped. Even though she's no longer here i find myself still searching for her all over the internet. I can't stop. I'm like on automatic. I miss you so much Donna. I can't believe you're gone. I'll always remember you till the day i die. Stay safe in your makers arms. RIP my Angel.

Donna Summer was a huge part of my life. She was literally the soundtrack of my life. When she left this world I felt like a part of my heart died. There will never be another voice nor soul that comes close to the wonderful Donna Summer. I am one of her "Friends Unknown". Not a day goes by that I do not think of her and how her talent and beauty got me though. I love you Donna.

WOW! What a wonderful tribute to Donna Summer. I agree that Donna should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in addition to being in the Dance Hall of Fame with Barry White. Donna Summer won the first ever Grammy that was given for Rock Vocal Performance by a Female for the song Hot Stuff. I'M PUZZLED ,SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME? HOW COULD THE WOMAN WHO WON THE FIRST EVER GRAMMY FOR ROCK TO A FEMALE. NOT BE IN THE RARHOF? THAT IS A SHAME! SHAME ON YOU MUSIC INDUSTRY !

Hi Mary - my sincere condolences. She made a difference in all our lives. I hope she knew it. There are many of us who would have loved to have had her over for dinner - just to let her know beyond purchasing her records (which you joked about on the Hot Summer Night VHS!) how we appreciated her. Will her ABC Television Special from 1979/80 ever be remastered onto DVD? Donna missed most of MTV - many of us who were sent to bed by 9pm back then would love to see it in its entirety!! Love, Chris

She had a very touching song called "Friends Unknown" that was a tribute to all of her fans. It was on the "Mistaken Identity" album (a great album that got no air play).
I think about her every day. I only got to see live once in 2006 at Wolftrap near DC. She was so warm and incredible. You could tell that she was beautiful and you could feel her talent.

ALL HAIL THE QUEEN OF DANCE & ELECTRONICA MUSIC!!! (Donna's New Title That I gave her, and that She has Earned many times over!) Donna Summer transcended from Disco and laid the foundation for the 80's pop music with "I Feel Love" along Giorgio, and laid the foundation for 12 inch singles, Dance Music and Techno House Music. She should have been in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. :)

    Hello Mary:
I am but another fa. I loved Donna so much I wrote a tribute song to her and released it. I hope you will check it out and let me know what you think. It is called "Riding Home from Baltimore" and it tells the tale of my first recollection of Donna at a very early age. Just search for the song on youtube. It was remixed by the Klubjumpers and released as a single in 2010. It also got a mention in the book "The Thrill Goes On" in the UK. I send you all much love!

when I hear so-called 'hard core heavy metal and rock gods" like Flea and Slash and Paul Stanley say they "revere" Donna and "hold her in high regard" that tells me that she is just as deserving as The Stones of The Who...and thats where this "does she desaerve it" crap, ends for me. If you are a rock purist and you believe that only guys like a Ted Nugent (who hasnt been inducted, btw) should be inducted, then I suggest spending the money to sponsor YOUR OWN "rock and roll Hall of Fame".
