Diana's voice is very sweet. She did a great job spilling sweetness into Billie Holiday's songs. But Billie Holiday's voice was bittersweet. There was bitterness in how Billie Holiday sang these great and terrible songs. That great lady truly sang the blues! Diana sang the news of her greatness as the Queen of the Blues! And Jazz! RIP Lady Holiday! Diana and I love you completely!
And by the way...Strange Fruit is NOT an easy song to sing a capella. There are crazy changes through the whole composition. She just ACED this with no music. Kudos.
Bravo I love every minute of it every bit of it and that was without music for the doubters in the naysayers you got to give it to the lady she can sing and she can sing with emotion and doesn't have to sing hard I'm a singer also I'm very soulful and I can sing soft and hard but what I love about Diana is that she can sing and convey emotion and it's very smooth so much talent and so much beauty

there was a time when so-called "rock enthusiasts" would roll their eyes at an induction like this...Ive seen enough of these shows, broadcasted, to see those eyes roll. So, to call these inductions a welcome to the rock n roll HOF, is a misnomer. What it should be called is ":The Academy of Popular Music's Hall of Fame"..because thats what this is, when you induct Lady Day, alongside a group like Journey (inducted a few yrs ago) and a solo artist like Donna Summer. All of these artist made tremendous contributions to the World..and that should be acknowledged and respected. They made our lives more well rounded and more enjoyable.
