I love her voice. Just like there will never be another Luther Vandross, another Michael Jackson, and another Whitney Houston, there will never be another Donna Summer. RIP to the Queen of Disco
KingGemini87, there also won't ever be another James Brown, Johnnie Taylor, Rick James, Eddie Kendricks, Aretha Franklin, Elton John, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, and, Curtis Mayfield.
It was a nice song. I noticed that she said the word, "with," in a normal manner in the video at, the, 1:11, 2:13, 2:58, 3:16, and, at, the, 3:24 points. When she said it at, the, 3:33 point, it was sang a little bit higher, and added a, "sparkle," to the song. She said it beautifully at, 3:33.
She looked so pretty omg! The song is just amazing sung with sensuality and passion. Thank heaven we have Donna's records to listen to, Donna is gone but her work and legacy lives on!
I'm a guy but yet this song really moves me. The melody is awesome and moving. To peak at #33 was an insult but I guess her disco fans weren't ready for the change yet.
Beautiful woman, beautiful voice. Her music was such a significant part of my childhood and my teen years. Her songs still evoke such great memories for me.
This amazing song is -for me- about intimacy between any 2 people, dropping their guards and let the spirits truly get together being naked and get lost in the heat of the moment x x x I wish every human being might experience this at least once :- ) Love always to Donna Summer
I was in High School in 1983 when this was released...And I admit I played this single a lot when I was alone and Yesss, I sung to it..and swinging with it today in 2020 at age 54...Rip Donna Summer..
she excelled in dance disco and she could take it down a few notches and sing a love ballard ......this was one of 20 top forty hits she had from 1976 to 1989..R.I.P Miss Summer.......your music will be loved for many many years
Rest In Peace Donna Summer. This song is very special to me, for many reasons. One being it was my "first dance" at my wedding. Will always remain so.. God Bless you
Scott Cody One big reason would be Geffen Records, they didn't promote her albums (all her promotion came from her European distributor WEA). The reason they gave was it was never their intention to focus on established superstars.
They didn't know how to promote her, she was not the average they though her career would end with disco but she proved them all Wrong when she came back with she works hard for the money and several hits after that.
because America was still in the throes of "Disco Sux" & any artist from that era was having difficulty getting radio play. very underrated album, with 3 hit singles "Finger On The Trigger", this tune & "State of Independence"
Man i am 90s baby , and wherever i go back and listen to music like this realize that there will never ever be music like this again. Brilliant yet simple
My aunt gave my the album "Donna Summer " for my birthday when I was 16 years old in 1984. I recall the first time when I heard this song later that night. It's one of those songs I remembered so well. Donna Summer is one of my big favorites.
This song and State of Independence are my favourite/favorite songs from the album Donna Summer and still is today:-). What's so great i still have the album, vinyl and i refuse to play it too much....it's the original album from 1982 and i love playing it when i want to sing but won't embarrass my ego or have cats within 2 doors singing along Lol.
Right? It charted higher than State Of Independence. Yet, SOI is usually put on gh cd collections here in the U.S. You can find it on a couple of gh collections in the U.K. But it is available on iTunes in the U.S. on gh packages like Hits, Singles And More and Donna Singles ....Driven By The Music. Those are digital versions, of course.
A beautiful song indeed. Reminding of my high days. One lady sang it during school debate and that made me to attend school debate like never before just to watch her sing this. I ended up calling Donna Summer. I love the song
definitely one of my favorite songs ever! I was a young 19 yr. old when this song came out. made me feel hope of romance, love & innocence...& waiting for that special guy! 🧡🌷
I actually just found this song on Hearts Desire walks on. I liked it so much I researched it, that's when I found out it was a Donna Summer song. I grew up in the Disco era, but was more rock and roll. Just listened to Donna Summer's original, wow what a classic, we sometimes forget what an incredible singer she is. It's a beautiful song and a timeless classic. When you find a respectable cover that makes you find the original, and realize the original was this good. I don't know how much air time this song got, but I would say it wasn't enough. These deserve air time today. Please don't loose classics like this.
What is a beautiful song by the brilliant and beautiful legendary Donna. I am a Donna summer fan for many years. You will be remembered for years to come with this song and other songs
I am 60 years old and I am still in love of her beautiful voice, personality and looks! No match yet for the Queen of Queen's a Pharaoh of Disco music!💕🌷🥰
A lot of artist besides Michael Jackson went to Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton in the 1980s because of the collaboration Donna Summers finger on the trigger George Benson's give me the night and the Brothers Johnson stomp were big Hits as well as sweet freedom by Michael McDonald
Donna's post-disco career didn't get much attention. Reminds me of good times in 1982-83. "Love Has A mind of It's Own" is another Donna song that's on my short list of great 80's songs.
OOOHH man this is it right here, thanks 4 this, it came out just when I started getting into girls, my uncle's wife sister introduced me to this GREAT song, whuddup Annmarie she had it on a cassette tape, we had some great times on the couch, oh man memories.
One of my favorite, from . Donna Summer in the eights she was great. When I first heard this song , I didn't know she could sing these types. Of song the words are so beautiful, she did great. With this one, she was always knowing, as the queen of disco. She was hot. RIP Donna Summer you will, always be remember.😢😂❤🎉❤🎉❤❤❤❤
Awesome song and picturesque video. To this date I have still never seen this on Classic Vh1 just the same old, annoying steve wonder. Donna should have made more dreamy adult contemporary music like this in the mid and late 1980s
This is the only Donna Summer album not available for purchase. If it were, this song would be the only one from that album that I would gladly spend $1.29 for. This song and The Police's Every Breath You Take from 1983 have very haunting lyrics even for those times. Those songs are so much better than today and they hold up amazingly well. 1983 was a great year for music even tough this song was recorded in late 1982.
1983 was an extremely special year to me, i was 9 and my senses were opening up to music like a flower to rainwater, and donna summer's music was the cathalyst by which i could grasp at 9 that music was the path to enlightment
Donna Summer was such a pioneer. "I Feel Love" was essentially the first house music record, while this one was probably one of the first "Adult Contemporary" RnB/Pop-Rock Power Ballads, emotional story-telling by a strong (black) woman, a genre that Tina Turner later (from 1984) made her own.
This song is very difficult to find. Took me almost an hour. No matter what I did I kept coming across Shania Twain - The Woman In Me. I literally had to type in "The Woman In Me R&B" just to find it.
I am still listening and loving these kinds of songs! One of my many favorites of the 1980s. I heard this song last night on I heart radio on a AT40 Casey Kasem countdown dated February 5 1983. Still enjoy to this day!
I grew up listen to this song until now 2024 love from South Africa 🌍
Sisonke
This came out while I was in 7th Grade. Really one of Donna's most underrated classics. You sense she feels every word she's singing.
She knew how to love that camera with her eyes.lol. Amazing singer and performer!
I love her voice. Just like there will never be another Luther Vandross, another Michael Jackson, and another Whitney Houston, there will never be another Donna Summer.
RIP to the Queen of Disco
I'm still enjoying it.
*Sulver*

just discovered this song this week and it's been on constant replay. I love Donna!!!!!
Better late than never!!
Heart did a remake of this song which is fabulous in it's own right
Me too
Singers come. Singers go. Legends never die
She is now a legend! She was, she is and she always be the Disco Queen!
@@Darrigrande She was more than the Disco queen! She had way more than Disco to offer, as was proven by this song.
I'm a guy but yet this song really moves me. The melody is awesome and moving. To peak at #33 was an insult but I guess her disco fans weren't ready for the change yet.
It moves me too, her best ever song by far.
you don't want to be man don't you know its forbidden you are aguy allaah a hite the guy please go back your man
Mmmm nice one
Couldn't have said it better 🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥
i bless you ...thats right.....is true.
An absolute classic, and that is coming from a Metalhead. The best song she ever made, full of melody and emotion.
Beautiful woman, beautiful voice. Her music was such a significant part of my childhood and my teen years. Her songs still evoke such great memories for me.
I heard the song on the radio 45 minutes ago. *First time watching the music video.*
This amazing song is -for me- about intimacy between any 2 people, dropping their guards and let the spirits truly get together being naked and get lost in the heat of the moment x x x I wish every human being might experience this at least once :- ) Love always to Donna Summer
This is about a woman's submissiveness to a man and letting him see her vulnerability. She invited him into her secret place.
I was in High School in 1983 when this was released...And I admit I played this single a lot when I was alone and Yesss, I sung to it..and swinging with it today in 2020 at age 54...Rip Donna Summer..
Im sitting in my living and my neighbor is hosting guests, and this song played softly from a distance. Rip Donna
2020 in the midst of the Pandemic, it too shall pass. The best is yet to come. Thanks for the great music Donna Summer. What an underrated song.
Donna transcended and "danced" with her vocal prowess through all the genres with such an ease. This is her best RnB moment, singlehandedly.
Never knew this was Donna Summer! What a great voice.
she excelled in dance disco and she could take it down a few notches and sing a love ballard ......this was one of 20 top forty hits she had from 1976 to 1989..R.I.P Miss Summer.......your music will be loved for many many years
Rest In Peace Donna Summer. This song is very special to me, for many reasons. One being it was my "first dance" at my wedding. Will always remain so.. God Bless you
this kind of music lives forever... becos its quality music and the artists had love and passion while they were recording these songs...great music
One of my favorite Donna singles. I never understood why this one didn't chart higher.
Scott Cody Great minds think alike...I was thinking the same thing Mr, Cody! This song is so sensual and song so well by THE LEGEND Donna Summer!
Scott Cody One big reason would be Geffen Records, they didn't promote her albums (all her promotion came from her European distributor WEA). The reason they gave was it was never their intention to focus on established superstars.
jokerwildest Thank you for giving the reason for this song not charting higher!
They didn't know how to promote her, she was not the average they though her career would end with disco but she proved them all Wrong when she came back with she works hard for the money and several hits after that.
Drew Mura Thank you for that BIO on this great song and artist!
A true singer with a voice, her music inspired me so much. She was a real amazing person. Glamour, fame and fortune never went to her head.
Reminds me of my first love. 40 years later still gives me chills. ❤❤❤
because America was still in the throes of "Disco Sux" & any artist from that era was having difficulty getting radio play. very
underrated album, with 3 hit singles "Finger On The Trigger", this tune & "State of Independence"
This was the best single
Rest in peace Quincy Jones. Thank you for the timeless music 💯💯👏👏🌹
Guys who still enjoying this jam even today
Beautiful voice, beautiful woman!
She was incredible! Beautiful, talented, a wonderful voice! Who can ask for more!
Man i am 90s baby , and wherever i go back and listen to music like this realize that there will never ever be music like this again. Brilliant yet simple

@mrstrange7350 I have heard "Oh Billy Please" many times because I have the album "Cats without Claws" as well.
@mrstrange7350 The whole album is underrated for that matter.
I have a problem: Why isn't this tune on her greatest hits compilations? It was a hit in 1983!
I was born in 1983.
When I listen to the track, I just realise how much I miss Donna Summer. Legends never die. Rest in peace Donna Summer.
Just found out today that Donna did this song first. Love the version that Heart does on their Desire Walks On album. This is great too.
This song reminds me of a love that was quick but unforgettable in 1981, beautiful Sandy
I love this song. RIP Donna!
Stunning Voice.
RIP Mrs. Summer.
Respect.
this song gives me goosebumps
A beautiful song indeed. Reminding of my high days. One lady sang it during school debate and that made me to attend school debate like never before just to watch her sing this. I ended up calling Donna Summer. I love the song
She made great eye contact with the camera. Love this song! Love her hair!
Absolutely 💯👌🏽
And nice classy long shots. If this were filmed today, it would flip every second or two.

The greatest come hither look EVER!!!!
This song the genius of Quincy Jones and Rod Temperton who wrote this as well as Michael McDonald and James Ingram singing the background.
Wow. Thanks for the info.
The Woman In Me was written by Michael Clark,John Bettis
Every woman has a woman inside her, waiting to be awakened by a skilled man. When she meets this man, a true and permanent union is shaped.
Wow. Poetry👏👏👏
Paulo Leal stupid sexism commentary putting on women the label of "come make me YOURS cuz am too stupid to find a man" myself.
This is so very true!

Quincy did it!
Loved this song since my school days. I'm now 50
Amazing, and that Sax in the background only adds to it, amazing track!!!
