    What a nice, humble guy.

Weird for someone who I think of as one of best and most distinctive drummers of all, to imply that he didn't think he was a competent enough drummer to join the band. But I suppose the previous drummers in the band paved the way for that distinctive velocity.

He’s one of my favourite drummers. It’s funny how brilliant drummers downplay themselves because they compare themselves to more technically apt ones

Did you real feel like an outsider at school. I guess if you feel that way then yes. I looked like the BFG mixed with Roland rat so i felt like an outsider, too 😂

It took a year to convince him to join?! Imagine if Kele gave up on asking him?

I wish he could join back but now I understand why he doesn’t want to join because he can’t play the same like how he used to

Did he refer to himself as non white?

I play guitar and bass and always thought this guy stood out as a shit hot drummer?? Maybe I don’t know what makes a good drummer but how many of em do you actually notice their playing (Jimmy chamberlain, Stuart Copeland). I wasn’t a big Bloc Party fan but I liked this guy and the guitarist

I agree. His drumming stood out ok the debut record and other people I was around who were into bands at that time, would talk about his drumming. Another standout drummer at the time was the The Editors drummer. Saw them live when they were touring their second album and huddled drumming was powerful and dominant.
