  • Leo the Lion is one of the easiest constellations to find in the night sky. It contains the SICKLE asterism, and it is easy to see this well-defined crescent shape. In this video, explore the shape of this asterism, get practice finding it in the night sky, and make connections to help you remember this star pattern.

This fellow educator who has just gotten into amateur astronomy enjoys your presentation style and content of your videos. Especially good thought modeling with the series of questions at the end. Glad you’re able to get back to making these.

finally we get to talk about stellarium!

I use Stellarium every time I plan to go stargazing. It is how I originally found the Omega Centauri globular Cluster. At a magnitude 3.9 it is the brightest cluster and is visible in a fairly dark sky. edit; If you live far enough South as it is only ten degrees above the horizon at my Latitude of 32 degrees.

I love Stellarium (and I use it when I'm planning observations), especially the desktop version because I can set a bortle value matching my location. I also liked how you showed several pictures, because the patterns don't look the same every time of the year or from every place.

I wasn't aware o the Bortle value in the desktop version. I will have to find that feature! Thanks for sharing. I mostly use the online version.

@@learnthesky The web version is really good and convenient, but the desktop version has so much information, it really is a professional tool (for free!). You can even simulate how the objects would look through a particular telescope + eyepiece (or binoculars), setup a horizon line matching your real location (I saw this on a Nebula Photos video where he plans a year long picture to show the analemma), etc. Honestly I don't use even a fraction of its power.

Hello, I like what you are doing and I think there is nothing accidental about exploring the stars after studying biology, as strange as it sounds ... :) I have a question for you - what do you know about the "Bootes void" and what is the logical explanation for this gap in the infinity?thank you for these lessons, you have a pleasant and soothing voice, which has a memorable effect on me.

Hello 👋 Yes, I have heard of the Bootes Void, and I have mentioned it in my video about that constellation. I do not know much about voids, but I expect there is so much we don't know about them to truly understand what's going on.

Mam I'm preparing my self for a astronomy competitive exam's paper. Moreover I love to get more and more knowledge of Universe. Could you help me more with a personal Internet platform such like email , gmail or zoom etc please?
