That Santa book is a great find! Maybe ComicSpa could work his magic on it?

Sweet haul bro! It’s always worth asking for a better deal when buying a handful of books! Antique stores are tough though. They typically price comics way too high. But sometimes you can find some hidden gems!

The DC Bronze Horror and Romance books would be good buys

I use blue painters tape for my bags, i fold over one end to make a tab and i always remove the tape before removing the comic. Ive never had a tape pull

Basil Wolverton is so weird and awesome as an artist. I find Plop to be similar to the Mad Comicbook.

If you have the equipment........ a light steaming might help a lot to get that 1901 book to 'unstick'.

Agree with your thoughts on bagging comics backwards; however, you still risk tape pulls on the back cover. It's why I've gotten away from tape altogether. I just fold the flap over and put them into comic boxes. It will eventually crease on it's own and you won't be left worrying about tape anymore when you go to pull the comic out.

I would venture a guess the Plop 22 Bicentennial issue was a very short run... I have never seen one in the wild

Humor books like Plop and Marvel's "Argh!" books are a fun read.

Not a lot of info on "A Visit from Santa Claus", found this: The book contains Clement Clark Moore’s poem, “The Night Before Christmas” followed by the poem, “Santa Claus and his Works” written by George P. Webster. The full color illustrations are fabulous but unfortunately, no artist is given credit. The book has printed wraps of heavy paper over a sewn binding. The images on the front cover are highlighted in gold and feature a wonderful Santa Claus with his sack standing in front of a hearth hung with stockings. The book is unpaginated but contains fourteen pages illustrated with eight full color lithographic plates (counting the covers) and red line drawings throughout. Moore’s poem comprises the first six pages which includes three full color plates. The remaining pages are Webster’s poem with three full color plates.
