Let’s not let this game be story of “mbappe took PSG to the semis” because he did nothing majority of the game. He only scored bc 10 man Barca gave away silly goals. Dembele was way better than Mbappe today.

No, xavi was correct and he made a good decision by taking off Yamal instead of lewa because if he take out lewa psg center backs like marqunious will get free space and he will definitely start attacking Barca but if lewa is in the pitch he gotta stay back at his own space and gotta watch out for him.
@JKE_OWLI-pe7nv The referee 100% made the correct calls. Only Araujo has himself to blame for getting beat goal side as the last defender. Xavi lost his mind. And Cancelo made an absolutely unnecessary challenge with Dembele going away from goal. Stop with the excuses.
@@panamike6178 as a neutral you should be able to admit that it was a correct red card. Like I explained earlier, attacker going through on goal, the last defender has to make the correct tackle or block or else it’ll be a direct red. Just a shame it seems the red card decided the match right at that point. Only a handful of Barca players seemed to have the mental power to continue at full power. Suprised to see no one being too harsh on Xabi. His team was down a player, losing and he still choose to act like a child and abandon the field with a red. That was probably when his team needed him the most. Pretty shameless.

Vitiniha has been class throughout both legs. I have only watched PSG in the CL this year and maybe some highlights but even I knew Barcola should have been starting both legs.
The 4 criteria that establish an obvious goal scoring opportunity: distance between foul and goal, direction of play, likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball, location and number of defenders. I assume all 4 must be met to be considered obvious goal scoring. *This is also according to the FA 2023-24 laws* My opinion: All referee jobs are made by humans so there is the aspect of human error and human bias to what we’re accustomed to. Not saying the ref is biased but that there is no perfect reffed match. The distance of the foul to the goal is the closest you can get w/o conceding a Pk: ✅ The direction of play was going towards goals: ✅ The likehood of winning or gaining control of the ball is a difficult one to judge and this is where the human aspect comes in. It’s opinionated as we didn’t end up seeing who gained control of the ball as both players fell. However I can see both sides as the foul committed could be seen as a 50/50 challenge. But I would give the benefit of the doubt to Barcola as he was ahead of Araujo and Araujo had to do more work to win the ball than Barcola to keep it. Hence decreases Araujo’s chance of winning the ball over Barcola: ✅ Location and number of defenders is also one for debate. As Araujo was not the last man. It was Cubarsi and the AR was lined with Cubarsi as the last defender so that’s just proof from the referee Araujo wasn’t the last defender. HOWEVER, the foul was on the right side of the field and Cubarsi was a good distance away from the foul that you can’t be certain that he would stop Barcola if he did get past Araujo. So number of defenders doesn’t favor the obvious goal scoring opportunity but the location does favor it. So again this point of the criteria is opinionated and comes down to what the referee values more in that specific section of the criteria: ➖ To give a straight red all 4 criteria have to be met for an obvious goal scoring opportunity imo. And from my breakdown, from one’s perspective that is definitely possible and from another’s perspective it only fits 3/4 at the most. Conclusion: any call would have been justifiable in this situation(Red or Yellow) and there’s always gonna be two stories to a call a referee makes. But it’s futbol and just like all sports in the world, games are governed by human error and that’s what makes sports so great. Seeing athletes overcome adversities. If Barca could’ve pulled off the win, Barca fans would want to count the win towards the strength of their team. But in reality to their losing the fans can’t say PSG were given the game. PSG put themselves in that goal scoring opportunity and capitalized on the man down. You can’t take credit if you can’t give it. And Barcas downfall started from that card which was totally on the decisions Araujo made, good or bad. *This is coming from a Barca and Liverpool fan. My GOAT is Messi, favorite player oat is Ronaldinho. Favorite player in my first FIFA is Fernando Torres. If that helps negate any bias of me for y’all*

*This is also according to the FA 2023-24 laws*
My opinion:
All referee jobs are made by humans so there is the aspect of human error and human bias to what we’re accustomed to. Not saying the ref is biased but that there is no perfect reffed match.
The distance of the foul to the goal is the closest you can get w/o conceding a Pk: ✅
The direction of play was going towards goals: ✅
The likehood of winning or gaining control of the ball is a difficult one to judge and this is where the human aspect comes in. Hence decreases Araujo’s chance of winning the ball over Barcola: ✅
Location and number of defenders is also one for debate. So again this point of the criteria is opinionated and comes down to what the referee values more in that specific section of the criteria: ➖
To give a straight red all 4 criteria have to be met for an obvious goal scoring opportunity imo.
If that helps negate any bias of me for y’all*
PSG came to Barcelona 4-1 reason
This is clever, brava 😅
