A great performance of this classic March! The tune isn’t Deep and Wide though. The song is I am Happy Today by the same composer as the March. There are 5 verses but here’s the first one. I’m happy today Oh yes I’m happy today In Jesus Christ I’m happy today For He has taken all my sins away And that’s why I’m happy today. 😊🙏🎶🎶🎶
I'm pleasantly surprised by the lyrics to the tune shown above. I've always believed them to be (and sung along many times too) 'I'm happy today, yes happy today, in Jesus' love I'm happy today, He's taken all my sins away, and that's why I'm happy today.'
Che dio vi benedica grandemente tutti ora e in eterno gloria eterna a dio padre gloria eterna a Gesù cristo gloria eterna allo spirito santo nei secoli dei secoli senza fine amen alleluyia
To me the chorus which the main melody comes from has two sets of words - neither of which are mentioned here. The main version is... "One talent have I, To take to the sky, While others are blessed, With ten of the best. Why should I complain, From duty refrain. No never. No never, not I". The other chorus I learned as a small child were... "In Space Rockets soon We'll zoom to the moon Before we get there Our hearts we'll prepare To walk with the Lord On Earth where he trod And follow wherever he leads."
SA Corps - Royal Tonbridge Wells, Kent - The band is as it says on the title, Black Dyke and they were outstanding. Recorded after coming out of the pandemic lockdown in November 2021. If you want to see a band play well, look no further. They are simply magnificent.
this is my all time favourite march, we really pull back the bass run down at the in the last section, it still makes the hairs on my neck stand up.
the consistency in tones and dynamics put up by this band is awesome
Wonderful! Probably the best brass band in the world.
One of my favorites.... great sounds all round aa one would expect....dem basses though, what a foundation!!👍
Marvelous.
Nicely played. I specifically like the BBbs dropping down the 2nd time through when playing the lead. Thank you.,
Une de mes marches salutistes préférées
Merci pour ce plait

Great March. Nearly as enjoyable to listen to it as to play it.
Very good

Sop cornet looks bored. Mibbe he's just counting bars rest.
I'm just back from a band practice. How did YooChoob know to put this up for me?
Which Salvation Army Corps was this?
