    Watched before and watched again - a great guide, mate!
    Do you think the 'sleeve' from a threaded Shimano BB would work? Measures in at 54mm also.
    And some standard BB spacers in place of ones from bmx kit? eg Wheels Mfg 24mm x 1mm ones; granted, would have to use heaps, but still...
    PS. Also, I admire that you work in both Imperial & Metric units.

      Possibly as long as it doesn't bind with the bearing seals. I'm about to do this again on another Czar, but I'm going to use bent spokes as my internal bearing spacers and skip the sleeve this time.

    Would it work on a spanish bb?i planning to convert my dartmoor cody to have 5 speed gear

    question here,
    axle in hollowtech is prepared for external cups - so internal diameter of axle drops to 23,8mm so I expect loose in spanishbb 68mm shell.
    Normally hollow cups and bearings are placed where you have eclat cones (and there is 24mm).
    Did you observe that there is play on bearings ?

    Hi, great film, Thank U 👌
    But I have question, you think this BB30 Racing Line kit can work with SRAM GX Eagle DUB ?
    I read that DUB has 28,99mm

    • @swoofty1
      @swoofty1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the GX DUB is BB30 standard then it should work. You have to watch out for PF30 because those won't fit; too narrow. It has to be made for external bearing BB30 bottom brackets.

    Thanks for the great video. I've had a lot of trouble with the stock Czar parts breaking so I'm looking at pricing this mod up? Are you fairly confident one Eclat spacer kit will do the job? I'm thinking of using the basic fc-m100 Deore cranks as I still hit my cranks on rocks due to learning pains.
    Thanks again!

      The Eclat kit will do the trick, just make sure you get the one for 24mm axles.

      @@swoofty1 Done.
      It's too bad that Shimano appears to have stopped making 2x cranksets with 64bcd granny gears in its current lineup. It might make replacements hard to get a hold of if you need to replace your cranks,.
      New Shimano cranks are 'direct mount' and don't go as low as 22-26t as far as I am aware
      Prowheel however (incidentally, the brand of chainring on the stock Czar) make an affordable crankset called "Claw" which will give you a 104 and 64 bcd interface. I am yet to receive mine in the post, but it might be good to bear in mind if you ever need a backup set.

    Any idea if it's possible to fit BB30 crankset into spanish BB frame?
    It looks like BB30 is becoming a new standard in trials. BB30 crankset axle diameter is 30 mm, hole in the frame is 37 mm, so there is some room for thin 30x37 mm bearings to fit the crankset nicely. Never tried it, but looking forward to try.

    • @swoofty1
      @swoofty1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I initially tried putting a Sram BB30 crankset on this bike, but all my experiences with BB30 have failed; mostly because it is not very standardized. You could use the Racing Line cups to go BB30, but 30x37 press fit wouldn't last very long. If you get it to work, let me know!

    Will the bearings in those kits work or do I need those other bearings (Czar 26”)?

    • @swoofty1
      @swoofty1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'll need bearings separately, almost any 2437 bearings will work. I obviously prefer Enduro bearings.

    where can i find these racing line BB cups?

    • @swoofty1
      @swoofty1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think they've been made for years now. You'll have to find a shop that still has one or ebay or ask on the trials forums.

    Hi! Where can I order a street trial? I notice theres only overseas retailers. Is there any shop here in the states that sell street trials?

      Webcyclery in Oregon is about the only place that's left in the US. I get most of my stuff from abroad too.

      @@darkvilla9 Sorry for the slow reply. Tartybikes in the UK is fantastic, also Trial-bikes in Spain. More and more shops with decent websites are fine for doing business with. Often lowest price wins wherever they are located.
