I never said that you cannot visit foreign countries, you can but come back home after. You love your adopted country and not Trinidad. You only like the beaches, food and visiting relatives. You don't like Trinidad because you would have nevet left.

I am blessed to be born in Trinidad. I am a Trinidadian. My father was born in Tobago in 1914 and came to Trinidad at age 10. They settled in La Seiva and planted the land. He then started working cleaning the road with the corporation. My mum was born on Sackville Street. I am a proud Trini and i believe in Jesus Christ. We all believe in Jesus Christ. Anyways, we are ethnically Indian and a lot of us are culturally Indian as well. We identify as Indian as well! Not brown or anything else. Indian. I don't see why its an issue with some Trinidadians! Its weird. Its also weird to deny that we haven't tried to preserve the culture. Evidently, we have.

I am sure lots of our relatives were let off in Trinidad, Jamaica and Suriname. Lots of the indians in the Caribbean came from Bihar/UP area. A few came from other places too. Racism was on its way out in trinidad, but bad actors will do anything to divide us. It is unfortunate that there is a cultural divide along racial lines though, seeing as africans came from west africa and indians came from india, farely seperate. That just means people will never fully coexist if cultures demand to remain seperate, which they have a right to do and will do so until the end of time. In that way trinidad will never be fully united. Thats why people "vote along racial lines", its not actually racial lines, its just that the 2 dominant races came here with different cultures

This is rather general statement. Lots were not educated and were street people but other were just tricked in coming. My mother's father was one. He left large volume of writing and also music that he imported. He bought a house, started his own business, bought rice lands and sent all of his kids to high school including his daughters although English was his third language.

I am a descendant of Indians born in Suriname. That is why I am a Surinamese and not an Indian even though my roots are in India. Because the indentured Indians in Suriname, Guyana, T+T, Mauritius, Fiji, South Africa were allowed to keep their culture, norms and values, religion and language that they brought with them is also a reason that their descendants feel a strong connection with India. I was raised at home with the Indian culture and at school with the Western culture based on the Dutch culture because of the colonization of Suriname by the Netherlands. The descendants of the slaves were deprived of their culture, norms, values, religion and language. That is the reason why their descendants do not feel a connection with their country of origin in Africa. I think that is a great loss for the descendants of the slaves because your roots are an important part of who you are.
