When you're young, there a lot of dreams/goals to share and fantasize about: the kind of house you want, the family you'll have, the type of job, etc. Once you're in your 30's the realities of life hit you like a truck. Everything is expensive and you just hope you're not in the next round of layoffs.

Exactly and becoming financially literate is even more important in your 30s. Going through a layoff, I realized you cannot rely solely on your employer for your future retirement.

I have very similar feelings about coworkers being very loose friends that don't have much depth. I've really tried hard to re-connect with old coworkers and even invite my new coworkers out after work. I've had some success, but nothing like college.
During college friendships just came so easy. Everyone was 5 minutes away from each other by walking, there were a lot of places on campus for us to just hang out and talk (dorm room, the library, courtyards, classrooms, etc). I really took it for granted.
I loved the video! Thanks for posting it.

Thank you so much for sharing your own experience in this. This definitely reminds me of how much I miss my campus days. Especially when I try to reach out to my classmates vs. colleagues…our conversations are so different! Appreciate your comment Andrew!

@@heysamko No problem! I turn 31 this year and the thought of "what exactly makes a deep friendship?" comes to my mind a lot these days.

Yeah same! Glad to know we’re not alone in this
