Nice! ive been waiting for a proper review of this. Ive bought one in wiskey leather, still waiting on shipment. This is my first proper wallet, currently owning a super thick generic leather wallet. I hope its going to be amazing but im extremely disappointed in dango on a couple of things. Firstly i pay 50 bucks for international shipping on anything i order from them. Dango did a poor job writing what you get for each available version of this wallet, so i really wanted the full package, multi tool and little strapxmultitool, apparently ill be getting only the raw wallet. Its just extremely disappointing to me, depending on how i feel about the wallet ill either order or skip on the accessories i want because to order those separately ill pay the price of the wallet again, rip, i need the wallet much more than i want the accessories but still...
Just got mine. Did your M1 come with scuff marks on the interior coating of the cerakote? Mine has quite a few and customer service is saying it’s normal. Kind of looks like a returned/already used wallet. Smh for $149? Ughh
Byron B Do you mean the cerakote on the inside plates or on the outer frame? The outer frame no. But there were a few minor scuffs on the inside plate that holds the mt01. Nothing too noticeable at first but they were there. It almost looks like scuff marks from the DTEX rubbing against it while moving around in my pocket.
Correct. On the inside. Except mine came like that. For $149 I feel like I should be the one to at least break in the wallet. It looks like it was returned/used. Unfortunate, bc I’m getting the run around from Dango. And I was planning on buying 7-10 for groomsmen gifts. I guess not anymore.
I've been using the Durango M1 Special Ops for a couple of weeks now. I do the same thing you do I have my bus pass and my most used credit card outside in the back the ID window I have my gate key to into my apartment complex the rest of my cards on the inside. And I got a package the other day so I had to use the tool to open the package perfect.
I've been using my spec ops wallet (all black) for a few months now and absolutely love it. I checked out alot of wallet reviews here on your channel and this was hands down the best wallet for me. The DTEX is badass and holds my cards and ID perfectly. Thanks for the great review!

Ive had the m-1 with all the accessories for 2- years now. I'm pretty happy with it. I have the raw leather version of it. The only issue I have is the clasp tool that repetitiously slides into the sleeve has now sliced one side of the sleeve off. I've tried to get dango to repair or replace, but they won't even reply to my email after several attempts! Bummer! You'd think with an expensive product lime this they would back or honor the $250 I paid! Just sayin...
Love this wallet. I own the original travax wallet and been using it for over 5years!!! Time to upgrade! Pricey, but love all the features. Glad i found you on you tube. I've enjoyed all your reviews thank you!
Watched all your wallet vids - the Dango ones more than once. Settled on this model but non-tactical in rawhide leather. Thanks heaps & keep up the excellent work.
This one is fairly large (as you said, "tactical, NOT minimal"), and heavy. The engineering is genius. I have found with Dango in general, they are original thinkers and I actually like the multi-tools (mostly) -- but the metal plate and the multi-tool both might shred or at least delaminate cards, so you have to be super careful about which cards to place within that section which the band holds together. Unfortunately, that's the most RFID protected section, so that's where you would want credit and debit cards, rather than on the outside where they're most accessible.

And so I swapped the M1 maverick 4 pocket bifold for a M1 rail... apparently the left screw couldn't go all the way in and left the left rail wobbly. I have both the M1 and A1 Ti... and I would still give Dango a 5/5!
Had mine for like a couple of months. Placed 2 cards in the inside compartment and it now has severe wear. If I didn't take the other card out, there would have been a hole within another month. Get a Trayvak wallet, better in my opinion.
I have the M1. I love it!! This is my 2nd Dango Wallet. I backed them originally on Kickstarter now you can just buy them directly. I just wish they would have kept the phone stand in the Multi Tool. It was in the T01. I used that every day to hold my phone up while watching a show really quick on break. That's the only thing I miss from the T01.
I love these wallets, just ordered the m1 Ti with the dtex bifold pocket and carbon fiber back plate. Rather pricey, but I fully expect this wallet to last me the rest of my life and then some.

They list the metal cavity as RFID secure and able to hold 6 cards but they don't state the dtex material is RFID secure. Unless its stated somewhere else on the site?
I don’t believe the DTEX material is RFID secure but, the new P01 travel wallet is made of DTEX and is stated to block RFID. So I think if it was they would list it on the site.

this would have been useful when I was in the military 20+ years ago. Especially, when you're staying in-camp, going for training, or having the weekend off. With a small compass or watch attached would be added bonus. A little too late. lol
Have you ever found the seat belt cutters in multi tools and other gear to be lacking? To be honest I've never used the belt cutter. I always find a sharp tanto or serrated edge wonderful for rope, but I've yet to try it on a seat belt. I noticed on your newest multi tool (The CRTK?) review a belt cutter section on the blade kept snagging on a rope you tried to cut. Oh also may I suggest a bug out bag review? I love the detail you go into with all of your reviews and I would be interested in seeing your choices. Or if not, due to all the possibilities and situations for bug out bags, perhaps suggestions on gear you would add? Such as that nightcore emergency whistle.
When the seatbelt cutter has a flat blade and angled (like a razor blade) it works very well. I’m not so sure the usefulness of these veff serrations yet when it comes to cutting rope or straps. Unless there’s something I don’t see. And I’ll look into those bags. Thanks for the suggestion!

It’ll be just a little thick with the bifold shut as I showed in this video. And not really sure of your purposes so I can’t really say about the money clip.

The MT04 is roughly 2 credit cards thick. I demonstrated that in my M1 R-Spec video I released last week. And suggestions of multi tools would be exactly that. The MT04! Thanks!
jeff bassell the width yes. Length no. It has a piece on the bottom that sticks through the M1 design. Unless you don’t mind a little hanging out of the top of your Ascent.
In the last wallet I had, I had a huge issue with the wear on the cards and wearing off the numbers and warping the cards to the point at which they wouldn't work. Does this wallet wear on the cards like that???
Totallay with you -- the cards inside the metal plate and/or against the multi-tool get delaminated. Or shredded, even. I LOVE Dango wallets apart from this very serious problem. I am wondering if the carbon-fiber plate would help (not necessarily available for this wallet!) or if we just need to have extra cards that are sacrificial dummies to keep near the plate and tool parts. If this weren't an issue, I'd love the Tactical and Maverick and Dapper series, ALL. I've spent a whole lot of money on Dango wallets -- have a few (or more).... end up using other things more than half the time.

I own this exact wallet. It's just amazing. If you're on the fence, don't be an idiot who made a bad decision, just buy it and I guarantee you'll love it. If not Chris will fully reimburse you from his own money. Dango M1 spec ops, satisfaction guaranteed or Chris will reimburse you.
This wallet needs to come with a tactical smear plate. That way we can "check her oil" for STD's. Then it will be a SPEC-OPS wallet. Every Joe and every Sailor needs that.
Not sure how that RFID protection is gonna help you when you put your most used cards outside the Aluminum. It looks cool, but honestly it looks like a little too much junk you're never gonna use.
I have the same wallet and after 2 days decided to return it, wallet is way to bulky it just like a regular leather wallet without the cash slots of course, this is not the meaning of a minimalist wallet
But...your wallet is loose in your pocket. That’s why there’s the potential to lose it. Your cash is now in your pocket, loose. Why would your loose wallet be more susceptible to getting lost than your loose cash?
@@ChrispyThings because you could leave it somewhere like on the counter at a store or you are also more prone to having your wallet pick pocketed because they would have to be damn good to get lose bills out of your pocket. Also I've seen people trying to put their wallet back in their pocket and miss and didnt notice it but with cash I always make sure it goes in there by putting my hand in the pocket with it. The only down side is if you have something like your phone in the same pocket and as you pull it out it snags the cash and it comes out with it

I feel like the clasp might get annoying. The big multi tool...I wonder if you could turn it around while it's inside and have it lock in too.
The multi tool can only be inserted 1 way otherwise it won’t fit properly.

The wallet is TSA compliant. (According to Dango…I haven’t tested that.) The multitool is definitely not.

On a bifold, the money clip. It’s much less bulky that way.

No I’ve been carrying the brass Trayvax Contour for the last few months. I switch based on mood. But for some reason I’m not getting bored of the Contour.

This wallet needs to come with a tactical smear plate. That way we can "check her oil" for STD's. Then it will be a SPEC-OPS wallet. Every Joe and every Sailor needs that.

The M1 and the M2 are so wide. Probably be a big hit in the UK with her wide-ass currency. You could probably fold US currency into thirds, to fit.

Not sure how that RFID protection is gonna help you when you put your most used cards outside the Aluminum. It looks cool, but honestly it looks like a little too much junk you're never gonna use.

I dont carry my cash in my wallet, I carry it loose in my pocket anyways because I'll lose my wallet before I'll lose my pocket....
But...your wallet is loose in your pocket. That’s why there’s the potential to lose it.
Your cash is now in your pocket, loose. Why would your loose wallet be more susceptible to getting lost than your loose cash?
@@ChrispyThings because you could leave it somewhere like on the counter at a store or you are also more prone to having your wallet pick pocketed because they would have to be damn good to get lose bills out of your pocket. Also I've seen people trying to put their wallet back in their pocket and miss and didnt notice it but with cash I always make sure it goes in there by putting my hand in the pocket with it. The only down side is if you have something like your phone in the same pocket and as you pull it out it snags the cash and it comes out with it

This is too much, not a wallet anymore, they should more focus on how to store coins not just some mimic toy multitools not practical.
