Having a male role model, and being the biggest fangirl for Oden, doesn't make Yamato male in any way, shape, or form. The bath scene was obviously a gag based on Yamato refering to herself and roleplaying as "Oden". She even calls Momo her son at various points. She's such an Oden fangirl she's roleplaying as him nearly 24/7
That was always my arguement too, my head cannon for what her character arc would’ve been something like her no longer wanting to be oden but her own person and accepting that she doesn’t need to be oden to her ideal self

But now I realize that she’s just an oden fan girl with an identity crisis and daddy issues that happens to be as hot as Nami and robin and be yonko commander level, and is constantly the subject of transgender debates which is not the enjoyable way for the story to be discussed. I would’ve kept yamatos character design and parentage exactly the same, but I would’ve rewritten her entire character. To me, her character should’ve been that she fought ace when he arrived in Wano and then they won each other over by being strong and telling each other their sob stories. Yamato would’ve been aces girlfriend and kaido would’ve kicked ace out of wano and imprisoned Yamato in wano to groom her to be the next shogun, and ace would’ve promised to come back and set Yamato free and Yamato would’ve been waiting for ace to come and save her with luffy. She finds out that ace is dead from luffy but joins his crew anyway as the straw hats guardian.

It seems like more than a coincidence that Imu, who seems to have some ties to Lili, has also been seen looking at a coffin and the popular theory is they're immortal (possibly via the Ope Ope no Mi's immortality surgery). The flower is a narcotic that causes hallucinations and euphoria (joy), and was also associated with the gods Ra (sun) and Nefertem (perfume), both of which seem to be referenced by the Nefertari family of Alabasta. The blue color of the flower may be referenced in Vivi's hair color. A different lotus flower that's common to the Indian subcontinent and East Asia (Nelumbo Nucifera, aka Indian/Sacred Lotus and sometimes water lily) is an aquatic plant that has much religious significance in Hinduism and Buddhism, which we know influence some of Oda's lore based on the names he gives people/attacks. Interestingly, depictions of this lotus in Indian art look vaguely like the World Government symbol and that also features on the Empty Throne, and a lotus throne is common in Hindu and Buddhist art as a base for a divine being to sit on. Seems like Oda packed a lot of different symbolism into this one name, which may hint at what direction Imu's story will go. Or we could be reading way too much into this, of course.
Yo I saw the King transition and IMO god-tier animation! Like you said that episode really showed how both right hands were serious for their captains.
Also - Not only does the "D" initial look like the Cresent moon as you stated. It also looks like the smiles/grins you'd see from members of the "D" clan right up until their death.

Egghead isn't over, but it looks dry when it actually comes to revealing fundamental mysteries.

The D. reveal has been setup to be something major, if it ends up being a smiley face then it will have been a poorly executed reveal. If it was just a smiley face then maybe we could have known as early as Zou and it might have had some impact then.

It's like Imu begging pirates to find One Piece and let his existence be revealed to the world at this point! Despite Roger having found One Piece 25 years prior to the story, WG did nothing to prevent someone else to do it as well. Odas writing became retarded after he choose to make Rogers Treasure into Joyboys Treasure.

I hope the saucer comment was tongue-in-cheek because by now, to me at least, it's clear it's just a choice by this animation director to add flow to scenes. The connected room theory is absolutely fantastic though. Great vid, sir. And a lovely thing to point out the Bon Clay speech. People can attach themselves to Yamato as they wish, for me she's a woman who idolises Oden. There's something for everyone in this series which is why it's so good.
Maybe the Iron Giant's mission wasn't to attack Mary Geoise but to reclaim the "treasure" stashed there for the future. Maybe Dr. Vegapunk realized reclaiming that treasure was important and made a deal with Kuma to install the Iron Giant's programming into him as the last step of his androidification. So Kuma submitted himself to the Celestial Dragons in order to be closer to Pangea Castle; the final part of his programming just having not yet gone off to go and reclaim the treasure until he was on Kamabaka Queendom.
on the Yamato topic, i think you hit the nail on the head. we know Oda is very considerate on what the underling meaning of his storytelling is about. he's very consistent. the manga is called "one piece"...literally about erasing differences and focusing on what makes us all part of the same thing: that ONE PIECE, we are all part of.
I have a theory about connection with Imu and Lili I believe Imu is Nefertari Lili and Joyboy's children. Here's how i picture things happened. 20 Royalty families gathered around and founded World Government and 19 of those families went on to Marie Jois to become Celestial Dragons. Nefertari Lili didn't wanted to become a God, she didn't had the hubris other families have. So she wanted to return to Arabasta. Celestial Dragons took Lili's action as betrayal and attacked her ship on the way. Her ship destroyed but she stayed alive, but people thought she died. She survived and went on an island later will be known as Amazon Lily, where she only accepted women, because she was the only women ruler in those 20 countries and she saw how despicable men are, she hated men and become first Empress of the Amazon Lily. Later in her life as a pirate she encountered the man that will be known as Joyboy and she fell in love with him because he was a great men, unlike others. She was so much in love with him she fell sick, thus first Empress to be love sick. Later in their life they became a couple and had a child later will be known as Imu. When Joyboy learned the things World Government does, he wanted to end their reign so he attacked them. While fighting, Imu learned her mother rejected becoming a Celestial Dragon and hated her mother because of it. Imu saw being a Celestial Dragon a reward from the sky, a blessing. Imu never wanted to become a pirate like Joyboy, nor wanted to become a ruler. Imu wanted to be a God. Joyboy was so close to winning the battle, he was overpowered. But he didn't know that his children will be the one to kill him, he never expected that so he was defenseless. By killing Joyboy, something Celestial Dragons couldn't do, they bowed down to Imu and let Imu be the King of all kings, king of the world. This is why Imu has Joyboy's hat and I guess the sword Imu had pierced the picture of Shiraoshi is from Lili, sword of Arabasta.

I haven’t seen the Zoro episode yet, but already I’m hyped for it. This chapter just left me stunned. I thought Imu was Lily, since Cobra’s face in the next panel looked shocked. Then again, Imu went to sit on the Empty Throne that was alleged to be empty… I wonder how Sabo fits in the picture, maybe he overheard or witnessed the death of Cobra, we have yet to see. Anywho can’t wait for the next chapter. It’s in two weeks and I don’t mind. I have other anime and manga to catch up on! 😊 Take care!!!
There is a pretty big contrast in the bath scene between Yamato and Kiku though, Kiku was bathing and all the girls acted naturally, none of them cared, meanwhile in the boy's bath Sanji, Brook and momo were all perving on Yamato, so in her case it was very much played like a gag

Something about the Nefertari thing is whether it's Cobra or Titi that is the family descendant. Cobra talks like it's his family line and generally the women take the male's name so Titi looking like Vivi and having the name scheme doesn't really matter in relation to Lili. Obviously you can have Titi be the Nefertari with Cobra marrying into the family and taking her family name but something to think about
This might be reaching, but running with your D theory. You take two Ds and place them back to back you basically have a circle with a line running through it. The symbolic representation of the world of one piece could be just that, the line being the red line.
From the last chapter I gained the impression that, Kuma wanted to go back to Mary Geoise because the last order he received, from St Charlos, was "Kill St. Mjosgard". So wants to kill the only good Celestial Dragon 😢

I want to point something out and add on to some things you mentioned in this video. So the D being half moon and two half moons coming together to form an O aka The One Piece. In the color page Oda draws a lily flower in the O of the One Piece logo and the color of that flower matches Nami's Queen outfit in the color page. And if you saw the Shonen Jump cover it has Luffy holding a skull that says King. And at the end of this chapter we have Imu sitting on the throne.So what if Lily was prophesizing in her letter that Two Ds will come together and overthrow Imu. So that could mean Oda is hinting that Luffy and Nami will defeat Imu and bring back the two moons together, especially if we soon learn Nami is one of the last members of D. Could tie into the romance dawn aspects of Joyboy, Imu, the mermaid princess, and Lily.
Another awesome chapter review!!!! I don't know if anyone noticed this but with chapter what happened with the void century feels like Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Let me explain: A. The 1st brethren court imprisoned calypso in her human form, cut off from the sea. It was the 4th court that set her free. B. 20 kingdoms united together and stole a great treasure in order to topple a kingdom. 20 pirates must steal back the treasure and topple the current gov't. Reasonings: 20 kingdoms acted like pirates and created a world where the are unintentionally creating pirates. 20 pirates: the straw hat crew, straw hat grand fleet captains, vivi, bon clay, and final straw hat crew member will undo the actions of the 20 kingdoms by finding the stolen treasure thoughts?
I think imu kept Lily as a slave because of the knowledge she knew about joyboy so imu made her a slave joyboy freed her and queen lily went discovered “Amazon Lily” and made it a country who hates because of what the celestial dragons did to her and she later died from the “sickness” because she fell in love with joyboy but couldn’t see him anymore

There is a theory that says that since Blackbeard and the other captains are busy, then the one on the ship closest to the egg island is Wang Zi who is forced to work for Blackbeard in exchange for his life. He was sent to the island to capture the scientist to work for Blackbeard. There will be a sword fight between him and Kizaru similar to Kizaru's fight against the Dark King
Another thing i think alot of ppl missed in the zoro vs king fight is when zoro powers up on the ground right before he takes on kings final attack. You can see it really quick but there's a flash and if you pause it on the frame (which is really hard i couldn't get it bc it's so fast) but you can see there's a crazy looking outline of a Ashura form of zoro before it flashs back and zoro jumps up and uses a quick attack think it was dragon something then when king uses his enhanced attack then zoro uses the 103 mercies to finish king off in spectacular fashion. Next time you watch the fight look for that frame you'll know when you see it.

The D. reveal has been setup to be something major, if it ends up being a smiley face then it will have been a poorly executed reveal.

@One Piece Yamato I still love Sanji's finishing animation against Queen. It didn't have all of the bells and whistles we just saw with Zoros but definitely still epic and worthy of rewatching.

I hope the saucer comment was tongue-in-cheek because by now, to me at least, it's clear it's just a choice by this animation director to add flow to scenes. Maybe the Iron Giant's mission wasn't to attack Mary Geoise but to reclaim the "treasure" stashed there for the future. Maybe Dr. Vegapunk realized reclaiming that treasure was important and made a deal with Kuma to install the Iron Giant's programming into him as the last step of his androidification. So Kuma submitted himself to the Celestial Dragons in order to be closer to Pangea Castle; the final part of his programming just having not yet gone off to go and reclaim the treasure until he was on Kamabaka Queendom.

I have a theory about connection with Imu and Lili
I believe Imu is Nefertari Lili and Joyboy's children. Here's how i picture things happened.
20 Royalty families gathered around and founded World Government and 19 of those families went on to Marie Jois to become Celestial Dragons. Nefertari Lili didn't wanted to become a God, she didn't had the hubris other families have. So she wanted to return to Arabasta.
Celestial Dragons took Lili's action as betrayal and attacked her ship on the way. Her ship destroyed but she stayed alive, but people thought she died. She survived and went on an island later will be known as Amazon Lily, where she only accepted women, because she was the only women ruler in those 20 countries and she saw how despicable men are, she hated men and become first Empress of the Amazon Lily.
Later in her life as a pirate she encountered the man that will be known as Joyboy and she fell in love with him because he was a great men, unlike others. She was so much in love with him she fell sick, thus first Empress to be love sick. Later in their life they became a couple and had a child later will be known as Imu.
When Joyboy learned the things World Government does, he wanted to end their reign so he attacked them. While fighting, Imu learned her mother rejected becoming a Celestial Dragon and hated her mother because of it. Imu saw being a Celestial Dragon a reward from the sky, a blessing. Imu never wanted to become a pirate like Joyboy, nor wanted to become a ruler. Imu wanted to be a God.
Joyboy was so close to winning the battle, he was overpowered. But he didn't know that his children will be the one to kill him, he never expected that so he was defenseless.
By killing Joyboy, something Celestial Dragons couldn't do, they bowed down to Imu and let Imu be the King of all kings, king of the world. This is why Imu has Joyboy's hat and I guess the sword Imu had pierced the picture of Shiraoshi is from Lili, sword of Arabasta.

I haven’t seen the Zoro episode yet, but already I’m hyped for it. This chapter just left me stunned. I thought Imu was Lily, since Cobra’s face in the next panel looked shocked. Then again, Imu went to sit on the Empty Throne that was alleged to be empty… I wonder how Sabo fits in the picture, maybe he overheard or witnessed the death of Cobra, we have yet to see. Anywho can’t wait for the next chapter. It’s in two weeks and I don’t mind. I have other anime and manga to catch up on! 😊 Take care!!!
There is a pretty big contrast in the bath scene between Yamato and Kiku though, Kiku was bathing and all the girls acted naturally, none of them cared, meanwhile in the boy's bath Sanji, Brook and momo were all perving on Yamato, so in her case it was very much played like a gag

Zoro vs King was fking extraordinary,and I had the impression that the director of the episode had some inspiration from the Karan vs Siegfried fight in Fate/zero especially with the fire effects
Something about the Nefertari thing is whether it's Cobra or Titi that is the family descendant. Cobra talks like it's his family line and generally the women take the male's name so Titi looking like Vivi and having the name scheme doesn't really matter in relation to Lili. Obviously you can have Titi be the Nefertari with Cobra marrying into the family and taking her family name but something to think about

This might be reaching, but running with your D theory. You take two Ds and place them back to back you basically have a circle with a line running through it. The symbolic representation of the world of one piece could be just that, the line being the red line.

Has anyone else noticed that Oda puts the "superior/inferiror" versions of Devil fruits in the post time skip Sagas which mirror the Pre time skip Sagas? e.g. Alabaster Saga and Dressrossa (there are "mirrored" sagas as they contain temp crew additions (vivi, kinnemon ) and taking down a herioic ruler). First we we have a Kilo Kilo fruit user, a bomb fruit user and a dice fruit user. Then in dressrosa, we have a on Ton Ton fruit user, a Weapons fruit user and a Rupture fruit user
Watch oda take the backlash from Pell and Chaka surviving, and absolutely murk them in the next few chapters.

I want to point something out and add on to some things you mentioned in this video. So the D being half moon and two half moons coming together to form an O aka The One Piece. In the color page Oda draws a lily flower in the O of the One Piece logo and the color of that flower matches Nami's Queen outfit in the color page. And if you saw the Shonen Jump cover it has Luffy holding a skull that says King. And at the end of this chapter we have Imu sitting on the throne.So what if Lily was prophesizing in her letter that Two Ds will come together and overthrow Imu. So that could mean Oda is hinting that Luffy and Nami will defeat Imu and bring back the two moons together, especially if we soon learn Nami is one of the last members of D. Could tie into the romance dawn aspects of Joyboy, Imu, the mermaid princess, and Lily.
Or Nami is Imu

I don't know if anyone noticed this but with chapter what happened with the void century feels like Pirates of the Caribbean 3.
Let me explain:
A. The 1st brethren court imprisoned calypso in her human form, cut off from the sea. It was the 4th court that set her free.
B. 20 kingdoms united together and stole a great treasure in order to topple a kingdom. 20 pirates must steal back the treasure and topple the current gov't.
Reasonings:
20 kingdoms acted like pirates and created a world where the are unintentionally creating pirates.
20 pirates: the straw hat crew, straw hat grand fleet captains, vivi, bon clay, and final straw hat crew member will undo the actions of the 20 kingdoms by finding the stolen treasure

Imu has immense speed by the time cobra & gorosei notice he/she was already sitting down
I think imu kept Lily as a slave because of the knowledge she knew about joyboy so imu made her a slave joyboy freed her and queen lily went discovered “Amazon Lily” and made it a country who hates because of what the celestial dragons did to her and she later died from the “sickness” because she fell in love with joyboy but couldn’t see him anymore

There is a theory that says that since Blackbeard and the other captains are busy, then the one on the ship closest to the egg island is Wang Zi who is forced to work for Blackbeard in exchange for his life. He was sent to the island to capture the scientist to work for Blackbeard. There will be a sword fight between him and Kizaru similar to Kizaru's fight against the Dark King
Another thing i think alot of ppl missed in the zoro vs king fight is when zoro powers up on the ground right before he takes on kings final attack. You can see it really quick but there's a flash and if you pause it on the frame (which is really hard i couldn't get it bc it's so fast) but you can see there's a crazy looking outline of a Ashura form of zoro before it flashs back and zoro jumps up and uses a quick attack think it was dragon something then when king uses his enhanced attack then zoro uses the 103 mercies to finish king off in spectacular fashion. Next time you watch the fight look for that frame you'll know when you see it.
